What a magnificent site! Aside from the graffiti it still appears pretty pristine. Rarely do you find the stained glass windows surviving long once the place is untenanted. I love your use of the light and space to achieve a sense of the true size and scope of the worship area...truly beautiful work, yet again. Your musical choices work impeccably with the visuals to convey the desired atmosphere....nothing jars the senses with your offerings. Have you ever mounted a showing of your photographs so those who appreciate amazing photography could purchase limited copies of your work? Some of your sites would be great backdrops for band or fashion shoots as well. You could even offer signed and numbered limited edition prints on a UA-cam store to help subsidize future explorations. Wishing you all the good fortune, and many more successful photo expeditions. 🇨🇦
This beautiful church closed down shortly after it opened and is now very vandalized and destroyed. Not true. I attended this church from 1952-1957. That's 50 years after it was built.
So... this church was preserved until you were to first to break in and publicize it and now all sorts of shit bags break in and vandalize it? Great accomplishment.
To all of those people who found "The need" to disgrace this church, they will stand before our Lord and God someday. They will have to answer to God for what they did... they probably think that it was "cool" to vandalize and paint graffiti on the inside of this truly magnificent church, but it was still the home of God, whether it was being used or not...
Whats so disheartening about these churches is that if sacredness of what’s the primary importance of being Catholic was truly preserved I don’t think these churches would have been closed. Thriving Latin Mass communities (such as the Fraternity of St Peter and oratories) are being told to stop celebrating the EF of the Holy Mass even though they are preserving the traditions of the Faith.
What a tragedy. Wonder when the pews were replaced. No RC church of that era would have had upholstered pews. Can't understand why the archdiocese didn't liquidate the windows, artwork, and various materials--surely of some value--rather than just walk away. When urban churches close for whatever reason, why not repurpose or raze the buildings? This would only seem to contribute to urban blight.
All the red in the interior makes me think it wasn't a Catholic church, at least not when it closed, at any rate. Maybe it was originally. I can't figure out which church this is and it's driving me nuts.
This church was originally a Catholic church, after the closure it was bought by a group of protestants I believe and that's where the red seats came from. Also, the church is located in Philadelphia as many have said, on 8th and York streets. Apparently not a safe place to be in so, I wouldn't go if I were you.
It was a catholic church. I know that because I went to the school from 1st thru 5th grade. About 1972 to 1977 is when I attended. There were no red pews, just traditional wood pews. The church inner decor was always beautiful, although grayish mostly.
Sad to see this mess ..in this church..never will you see churchs built like this..again..this is what heven is suppose to look like..when folks built these huge churches..a holy place should not be dis....so sad..

"God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands" (Acts 17:24 KJV).
What UTTER STUPIDITY on the part of Man to allow this to happen in the first place. The problem with this and every other abandoned structure is the fact that no one person is held accountable.I refuse to believe the owners of this church don't know its being vandalized and encroached upon by skanky people. It needs to be reported to the authorities, the Mayor,Somebody!
I want to give me Honest view, I believe in God, I believe in Jesus, I read bible, Many thing that I learn in the bible did not been teach in the Church, and when I attend Church the Pastor will give a speech for 90 minutes!!!!! he will draw a simple word of Bible and talk for 90 Minutes!!!!! is that boring? If you want to learn Bible... you end up of learning nothing from the Church for your entire life!!!!!! Jesus have teach us to Pray that God is not Deaf, He can hear us, So do we as a Human, When someone talk the a simple issue for 90 minutes, it make most people boring, I just hope Church will think of new activities than can bring people back to Church, To make Church feel more than a home, Come on, It s not easy to be pastor or Priest, Is time to reform the Church

Shortly after it reopened it whats said. We know this church didn't open then close shortly after. Thats common sense with how old it is..
Can you give me address of this church?

ABANDONED CENTRAL AMAZING THIS COME OUT PERFECT
Sick video as always!! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the support we appreciate it!
Why do they abandoned this beautiful Church?
No money. Parishoners unable to keep up with the bill of upkeep. And most likely the archdiocese paying off victims of the sex abuse scandals.
This is amazing, I will definitely check out this place when I visit Philadelphia
Amazing video we are coming to Philadelphia in a few weeks, Hopefully we can explore this place! :)
In a Paranormal investigator and I also do hurbanexploration. Im from Philadelphia from north Philadelphia. What is the address???

Yep … they are clearly hurting and want to take it out on what used to be His dwelling and place of worship.
Is this place still around ?
Where is this located?
Wow! What an absolutely incredible spot, and you got in there are the perfect time! I'll have to look into this spot, I'd love to check it out myself.
Why does the Roman Catholic Church allow these beautiful buildings to be destroyed by savages? They should be secured and have caretakers.
You are right, but then they have people like this who just kick their way through and leave it open to idiots.
This is awesome! Is it still standing? I would love to explore this place and take photos.
Someone commented about a year ago saying it was being renovated under new ownership.
What song is that in the intro???
where is this located

Hello, I was wondering if I could have permission to use one of the shots in this video for a music video and give credit?
Do you need me to email you the photo or are you able to take it from the video? I might not be able to find these files since they are so old.
