I have seen the Rippingtons Live 3 times (in Buffalo, NY, and at Glenora winery in Dunee, NY on the shore of Seneca Lake) and every time I see them I am totally blown away by the music, and the musicians themselves. I would love to see them again, but unfortunately I live in a city (Corpus Christi) that says they have the longest continuing Jazz Festival (I don't think you can really call it a Jazz Festival), which contains bands no one has ever heard of (for the most part) for any serious contemporary jazz fans. They are mostly unknowns, high school bands, a bunch of Country & Western music, Rock groups no one has ever heard of, and they might get one recognizable name in C-Jazz but that is it. So if I want to hear any real jazz I have to travel unfortunately, but the weather is great here all year round. d.
