@@lhr3244 I play the kramnik attack and sometimes b6 bb7. I used to play the great snake variation with g6 bg7 and f5, but whites queenside attacks and sometimes attacking my weak kingsude is unpleasant
@@ChessCenturion i’ve learnt that the catalan setup with Nh3 works really well (bishop on g7 unblocked) and not allowing e5 break at all cost is the best way against the dutch
@@salemtv5808 Yeah the mainline dutch also works wonders but if you really want to ruin a Dutch player's day, play 1.d4 f5 2.Nc3!? and go for moves like 2...Nf6 3.Bg5 and play for e4. Black never gets their fun kingside attack and it's quite fresh and relatively unplayed especially below master level
This is the carls-Bremen system. It’s my favorite opening atm
It's simple but also very complicated if you get me
The Great Snake variation is the best counter against the english oppening
Its too weakening
@@ChimeMemeh other than that what's your idea to counter the english?

@@ChimeMemeh that is true.
Great snake seems very tough to deal with but not necessarily a counter
that’s the dreaded Dutch ish lines i mentioned in the first english video as a d4 player i hate nothing more than facing the dutch
@@salemtv5808 you play g3 bg2 against it
Yeh it's really tough, I guess I should just go for queenside expansion?

Very good idea, just take them out of mainline theory and have a simple plan
You didn't expand on the queen side and your opponent didn't expand on the king side
I think I did expand queenside hence the advantage, just threw it away with c5
bro how old are you? You look 22.
I'm 20 lol
