On 1 July 1905, the railway was taken over by the Ferrovie dello Stato. The line became particularly important when the first section of the Rome-Naples direct line was inaugurated on 17 July 1922, between Rome and Formia, because the provisionally created Rome-Formia-Sparanise-Caserta route was faster than the Rome-Cassino-Caserta route and allowed the coastal towns of Lower Lazio to be connected to the inland towns of Lazio and Campania.

(Yes, I think because the conversation between the driver and the personnel on the ground cannot be transmitted.
Due to what is ironically called "rete snella" (lean network) here in Italy, i.e. the practice undertaken for some years by RFI, the railway infrastructure manager, to remove the third track in many small stations to save on maintenance costs for the switches.
@auxpower3352 I thought that at the beginning. But during the night it is hard to see anything. Just a part of the trip is ok, but for the whole journey it might get boring to some people.
I don't think there's any need for a high-speed line here. The original rail is fast enough. Of course, it probably isn't just about the Naples - Rome connection (but in that case it needs some high speed rail station riding through Rome instead of Termini) .

@@clamormar Thank you. Grazie.
" ore e 5 minuti.

Speed is a bit wrong, otherwise cool video
@tinacofactory Speed is a GPS based data and it can bee a bit inaccurate. Sometimes is better and sometimes, especially in the lines with many tunnels, can be strange...
