camramaster I think it’s something along the lines of reverse thrust not using fuel, that and maybe a little bit of thrust adjustments in the engine files... not sure about that part but I’ve done it before so it’s a possibility. Or he could’ve just made some sort of mass relay thingy 🤣

Maximum impulse is actually extremely fast, approaching 0.8c. Full impulse is only limited to 0.25c because of time dilation.
@@user2C47 I've always interpreted impulse speeds as dependent on the acceleration capabilities of a particular craft. One ship's maximum impulse (basically flanking speed) might be only three-quarters impulse of another.

Due to the speed limit of .25c, there is no reason to develop faster engines. Impulse speeds seem to be relative to full impulse, rather than maximum impulse, except where maximum impulse is slower than full impulse.
