How the? Removing a bearing cup from a blind bore.

Here's one way to remove a pressed in or stuck bearing cup from a blind bore. This one didn't have notches behind the race for a puller or enough lip to grab onto. This is what I did

Yep, that’s the way it’s typically done, especially with larger races. Sometimes a blind collet puller works well with small races

Just weld a bead on the inside of the bearing cup. When it cools it should just pop out. I've done that many times.

we get outer races from bearings out all the time with ALMOST this method. Running a very hot mig weld bead around the inside (where the races run) it MUST be continuous with no gaps. Allow to cool and the race almost drops out

I'm kinda stubborn, I know that welding around inside the race will shrink it as the weld cools. I would have tried till I got it. Thanks for the comment
