A passion (or obsession?) for 1959 Chevy's
PLUS
Automotive and whatnot, DIY car repairs, Hopefully funny stuff, Vintage barn and field find cars. unique auto tools and methods. Also, a few that are for sale I'll tell ya if they are
I've been a professional mechanic for over 30 years and a ASE certified for most of those years. I never know what project I'll be working on next.
MY in the works projects are a 64 Corvair with a rear mounted 4.3 V6 Chevy running through the factory PowerGlide. I am trying to get my 59 BelAir ready an legal to race at the 2023 No Name Nationals. If I reach the subscription number requirement I'll run it down the track!
A few of the vehicles you might see here are
a 1959 Chevy Belair 2 door with a 454 big block that's my first car
a 1964 Corvair 4 door that were installing a 4.3 Chevy V6 in the rear. This is the father in laws ride
a 1959 Chevy Belair 4 door that was my Dads, this was the family truckster when I was born
a 1960-4 Chevy C40 truck

No Name Nationals 2024 will be September 19-21 2024 at Skelton raceway in Sikeston Missouri. This is an event for UA-cam content creators with at least 500 subscribers to their channel at the time of the event. This will be our 3rd year attending and the second as a participant. This year we may be driving two cars down. It's about 700 miles one way if we avoid the metropolises. This years project is another 1959 Chevy BelAir 2 door. This one was last licensed in 1969. It's been a parts car for several people, and that's before i bought it on the EvelBay years ago. This will be a budget build and we're trying to keep the original "survivor" look. The drive line will be similar to what could have been ordered from the dealer. The body will be all original paint for now. Lets see if we can get this car together and drive the 700 mile to NNN 24 in Sikeston! Hit that like button if you feel the videos deserve it. All comments are welcome If you'd like to follow along with the build, please subscribe

Pretty neat custom tractor. I’m getting ready to build one, just need to decide what to hack up. Lol
@@66Oliver this one was commissioned by JD, I don't know what outfit built it
@@Raycr Be nice to see the paperwork on it. I’ve been in the GT field for a while now and have never heard of such a thing. Even from the senior collectors. Especially without paperwork. I usually call it a fake until proven otherwise, because people do it all the time.
Keep grinding!

KRYLON REBUILD!
@@DougsterWolverineGarage you bet! Old school
That's funny shit there!!
@@jamesthompson8008 I try to get a laugh in once in a while. Thanks for watching
Rebuilt 327, rebuilt brakes, House of Krylon to the rescue.
@@SweatyFatGuy you're gonna love the floor pans then!

A lot of modifying to be done. Is a neat idea. Definitely a better engine than the flat 6 that your Corvair originally came with. Wish you all the best!
She’s coming along well!
@@subarute9304 we've got our deadlines
What does CORVAIR mean? I assume a small car with an air-cooled engine. So installing a liquid cooled engine into the back is meaningless. Just put it in a front engine car.
@@danielocarey9392 this was built to be unassuming. No outside clues to what lies beneath
Fix that rusty sheet metal underneath with a simple welded on sheet of stainles or similar, cut it back with an angle grindr to better steel and weld or tac it on . The rest of your ideas are good though. The huge washers and the small
@@Broman-es4sx new rear floor pans were definitely a must! Got them in before the belt anchors were installed. Thanks for watching
Ya gotta do it nice when you do it twice! 🤪

Nice flares, someone's been practicing. 😎👍

Damn! It's a real pain when we do it to ourselves, eh?

But that's a dam good flair on the line 👍👍
Been there, done that! Sorry to say! Know exactly how that feels. 😕

I know enough to know what is wrong!
Yep been there
@@larss592 most people that have done flares have done something like this
Been there, done that, did not get a T shirt. We should make some T shirts reminding people about the line nuts.
HAHA🤣👍
No cookie for you today!! J/K 🍪

ROFL 😂😂
A great upgrade and gives you piece of mind!
As a kid we had a grand Cherokee in dark brown. My father LOATHED that vehicle. He still to this day says the best day he had with it was when he sold it. Lol. Only Jeep my family ever had.
Yes, very cool monument. I wonder if that's a take from the old 'Wedding/marriage trees' concept, where a pair of trees would've been planted at the time of wedding, for use as coffins when either or both had deceased. An old ritual, but used often through the 1800s & early 1900s. My own property has what i believe is one of them left, as the wife of the homesteader had passed first by some years.
Now that is cool, a wonderful idea on so many levels.

What if you can't get a key for it?
@@NathansMoparGarage depending on the year of the car, the locks have a key cut code that a key can be made from. I have the resources to do that with the cars I deal with.
It looks like a house key

My 61 Vette has it curved and angle cut from Corvette central everybody loves it.
Heat is definitely your friend! Be careful not to heat the base of the brake hose too much. They like to make a huge POP and separate.
