An alternate history video. What if the Ottomans were kicked out of Europe, by losing the Crusade for Varna? What if the Crusade of Varna succeeded, how would the situation in the Balkans play out (in particular Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania, Byzantium or Greece etc.)? What about Wladyslaw III and his Polish, Lithuanian and Hungarian realm? And what of the Ottomans who would be relegated to Asia? This alt history video will attempt to answer said questions, in a time period familiar to any Europa Universalis IV (eu4) players.

Feel free to leave any feedback (trying some new stuff on the maps) or any video ideas. It has been a very long time since I've uploaded, but I plan to upload more regularly, aiming for every 2-3 weeks initially and seeing if I can build it up further from that. Also I made a little mistake at 5:40, but it's just meant to show the map of Ottoman Armenia I had shown beforehand.
I'd say an intresting concept could be what if turkish re-unification failed after ww1.
The entire video I felt as if this was very well made, good maps, editing, audio and concept. If I had to give a tip maybe you should use more maps? (You did this really well though) I think the main focus driving forwards would be showing long term effects on other thing such as wars. Also make SURE to keep the concept of the video lesser known and interesting like this one, (maybe what if Austria united Germany? Or what if Italy united earlier? Or maybe what if Rome fell during the crisis of the third century, Anyhow extremely well done and I’m sure you will one day reach 100k+ subscribers! :D
@@gideonwlind I appreciate the feedback and support Gideon. I think you're right about the more maps thing, I'm thinking of perhaps increasing the screen time of the maps already there as well. I see what you mean by the long term effects of other factors, would require more research but tbh I like googling history and it would make for a more enjoyable product. I think I did that better in my previous videos, whereas this video was more focused on certain factors. I like the idea of continuing to do lesser known and interesting topics, but I do think I will have to do some more popular scenarios here and there (for the algorithm and also to scratch the itch of those scenarios).
@@HistorysInfluence Too be honest this video was probably a 8/10 maybe even 9/10 it was pretty hard to type suggestions. Only reason I want to support is because I actually think you have a massive potential. And I'm sure if you grind enough this will become your full-time job :)
@@gideonwlind Thanks for the kind words. This becoming a job would be the dream, I'll try my best and see what comes of it.
I always see various versions of what if the Romans never invaded Britain. But there is one question that is never asked nor answered. What if the Romans never left Britain, even as the empire collapsed?
I don't think I've ever heard that idea before, very unique. I've been lazy on this channel but plan to start slowly uploading more, this idea is one I think I'll be using eventually.
@@HistorysInfluence what if Alexander severus survives/destroyed Sassanid empire
A lot of them didn't. Its why we have Romano British
That sound interesting... Who knows? Maybe those Americans will speak Latin
In that case North and South America would be considered Latin America.
important note. in 1451, skanderbeg signed the treaty of Geata, which incorporated Albania into the kingdom of Naples. if albania were independent from the ottomans, it would most likely remain as a part of Naples, Italy, or even Spain, rather than the Habsburgs.
What if the Western Roman emperor Majorian wasnt killed?
I remember seeing some video or podcast that mentioned him, pretty sad how his life ended.
@@HistorysInfluence another idea is what if the habsburgs never ruled a big chunk of Europe, what if Přemysl II. defeated Rudolph Habsburg in the Battle of Marchfeld?
the wre would survive for another 100 years
I love the video, keep doing these interesting and uncommon alt history videos!
Now do what if the ottomans took vienna
Great video! Your content is some of the best. I like how you analyse the long term consequences of each event. Thanks!
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Nice to see you upload again.
Cheers for the support
Great video!
Luv your channel so glad you upload, am going to subscribe

I like your videos my friend 😍 The key is to never give up hope . Keep moving forward and believe in yourself . I send love and support 😍❤️❤️💖💖💖
Hi ! Since im Balkan ( from Bulgaria ) i would like to see a video where 2nd Bulgarian Empire hasn't fallen yet and then getting Constantinople. It would be lovely to see a video like that it would be so much fun. I've always thinking about it. I would watch a video like that. Im subscribed i wish more people to see your videos! Love from Bulgaria ❤️🇧🇬❤️ !
2nd Bulgarian empire fell after battle of Velbuzd, after that it was vassal of Serbian empire till Serbian collapsed. Because all of army and much of economy was in Serbian principalities (Moravia, Zeta, Bosnia, KosMet, Prilep, Dejanović and etc.) Bulgaria fell under Ottoman occupation.
Bulgarians asked Serbia for help. Serbian strongest family in that time after Nemanjić fell was Mrnjavčević that send army to Bulgaria to expel Ottoman troops and to conquer Costantinople. But they were betrayed by others serbian families because they wanted power. If Mrnjavčević succeded they would make second Serbian empire. After fell it was literally game of thrones.
Summary is that Second Bulgarian empire was strong in one period but it was demolished by Eastern Roman Empire and destroyed by Serbia in the end. Economically it wasn't possible for siege. First Bulgarian empire was much stronger.
@@simargl614 Bulgaria was never a vassal of Serbia
Part 2 next!
Don't give me hope
are you gonna make a similar video on your channel?
Very well made happy to see more alt-history channels getting traction. I wish you the best of luck and I hope to see more of your work soon.
Kiss kiss

Edit: Also bless your soul for the Istanbul not Constantinople joke.
Glad somebody caught it lol. Thank you Tofu
Would you ever do one over what if the avars remained in Pannonia like they kept their kingdom and it wasn’t destroyed by the franks, I think it would be interesting to see a Turkish tengrist nation in what is now Hungary although I do feel like they would have a somewhat similar history
I've been lazy as hell on this channel but plan to start slowly uploading more. This is a great idea imo and i'll add it to my list.
@@HistorysInfluence okay sounds great
@@HistorysInfluence TBH i have a even bigger idea. What if Charlamagne never existed to begin with? Having Saxons as Southern Vikings, Al-Andalus likely surviving a little longer maybe, Lombards if can pull themselves together remaining United meaning Rennaisance likely never happening, Avars accepting Catholicism and Challenge Byzantines over Balkans, becoming a Turkic Hungary.
You also might have Reconquista failing when Muslims conquers Asturias (somehow) succesfully.
Fatimid Caliphate surviving under better leadership, Surviving Mongols and Remaining Strong enough to resist Ottomans and Safavids, Creating a Sunni, a Shia and a İsmaili superpower in the middle east in a 1984 style struggle between Oceania, Eurasia and East Asia. Of course this scenerio it is far less likely but still im looking forward for your content
Can you make a video about what if the latin empire defeated the byzantines
The image you used for murad is actually suleiman.
The prussian identity that existed was actually due to brandenburgbeing particularly damaged in the 30 years war. While prussia wouldnt exist, a slightly weaker brandenburg could still exist.
It would be better
The ottoman rule of Balkans was worse. They were put technologically backwards and then came communists
you cannot be wise and an atheist
@علئ ياسر ???
I would Love a video on a history without Prussia, I am genuinely curious and hope that video is done someday.
can you please do a video on what if France conquered Mexico
This is a topic I find interesting that I don't know much about, I'm planning on slowly making more videos and this is a great idea for one of them.
What if the Ummayyad caliphate dident collapse
What if the papal State United Italy
What if Japan China and Siam Wear colonised
Key moment was battle of Marica
I fell like that my country would surely be better(Romania)
And posibly Romania could unify earlier
5>11 year 2000 map is inacurate and isnt in accordance with the international law
Herzegovinians 😂
I mean they do exist, people live i Hercegovina, but I dont think anyone has ever subly elevated them the way you did. I am so proud of you bro!
What if Ottomans had adopted the cult of Makima, Revy, Cutie Honey, Marin Kitagawa, Trixie Tang, Judy Neutron, Marge Simpson, Wendy Corduroy, Lois Griffin, Sailor Moon and Maddie Fenton instead of Abrahamic shit?
Great Video (A comment for the UA-cam God (Algorithm))
What happened to you?
Eastern Roman Empire not Byzantium
Lol, the map looks like if the ottomans were expelled from africa and asia
It’s weird to imagine Balkan History and Eastern History by extension being something more akin to the western European balance of power as a opposed to gang banging on the Ottomans for 300 years or or so.
Balkans would still be a circus.
We would be better off,
John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Mark 1.15
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Skanderbeg is a Serbian
What if the Muslims won at Tours ?

Varna is one of humanity's most unfortunate moments. Monsters such as the Ottoman Suktans and Hitler were created by it. Europe would be a much happier and peaceful place and techywould have progressed far beyond faster due to a bigger and more educated population . Even the World Wars would have been avoided
