Nice work!
Great video, can you tell my for puting back a need special tools?
Any special bolts triple square inside the starter? Or only the ones outside.. couldn’t see which ones are to remove or what size are those
Hello,
Really great video, thanks for that. A question, you have a metal oil pan, is it buffled? If yes, do you track your car and what is the brand of that oil pan et type please? I am looking for a baffled oil pan for my R from 2019 mk7.5
it was not my car, but i tracked my R with the stock plastic pan with zero oil pressure issues, and so do a lot of people. the main reason people get them is because they dont want to bottom out and crack the plastic pan
Thank you for your informative videos. I’m going to swap a DSG transmission for a 2012 Jetta gli. My question is, after swapping the transmissions, will the vehicle’s computer need any reprogramming? Thank you.
Toxic LOL if you did not swap over the mech unit then you will need to have to towed the dealer to be programmed
Awesome video dude 👌 are all the transfer cases the same I'm swapping mine out as its whining and leaking fluid I have 2009 tts mk2 would one from a newer golf r or s3 fit would you know? Appreciate your time
Should be the same
I have to do a clutch on an RS3, these videos are sooooo helpful, thank you. Can I ask: Does you actually need to remove the bevel box to pull the transmission or can it come out with the transfer case still bolted in place?
i took out with it bolted to the transmission. That was on a 2010 audi a3 quattro though. I think they are very similar though except for a few brackets.
I'm guessing it would need an alignment after this?
What transmission jack is that?
Was this 6 speed or 7 speed DSG
@carwerks101 are you supporting the engine from above, or just letting it hang off the engine side mount?
Supporting the engine up top
Hey nice vids ! If i want to remove my engine, do i need to remove the transfer case as well? I planned on pulling out from the front.
Nope, just the drive shaft and axles
@@carwerks101 thank you !
@@carwerks101 hey bro, i just sent u a direct message on your instagram. Do you mind to shed a light on where the bolt is located? thank you !
Where you located??
Thx again. Is there anyway to do it on the ground?
yeah, you just do it on the ground
hey! why did you remove the transfer case? its possible whitout removing it right
you have to unbolt it if you dont plan on dropping the sub frame, also if you leave it hanging on the bracket, its almost impossible to line it back up and line the trans up
Great Video !! Question, do you know if it's possible to remove the transmission without having to remove the transfer case ?
You have to unbolt it from the transmission it’s not worth the hassle while the engine is in the car still
But you’re saying it’s possible though? ( my engine and transmission are out of the car)
Hey man I’m looking at a 2017 R with a second gear synchros problem. I was thinking If I can get it from this guy for less then 10k it would be a good deal to get repairs. What do you think? I’m no mechanic here, but I’m willing to learn but I just wanna know what I’d be getting into before I bought it if I did decide to jump on it. Thanks for the help if you can! Or if anyone can!
Easy fix for someone who can take the trans apart
🤤
If my car(2015 Audi A3 IS38) goes forward and backwards fine but goes into limp mode after going to second gear showing no reverse gear continue driving forward. Could that be mechatronics unit or something more internal? I appreciate the help!
Sounds like a mech unit
@@carwerks101 even if the fluid wasn’t changed at the 40k interval and had been on stage 3 dsg tune with is38 eurodyne file? It just happened one day cruising at 40mph. I’m not sure which route to take. Get a used low mile transmission or a new mechatronic unit from Audi. Both same price but obviously one has a lot more work. I appreciate the quick response man! Keep up the good work!
@@SonniD811 fluid won’t cause this unless it was super low
@@carwerks101 I remember there was a code about a speed sensor as well. When all of this happens the PRND would completely disappear from the gauge cluster and it would be stuck in a gear. So you think I should just get the mechatronic unit in my case?
Any difference for a TDI?
RECON_RON nope
Anyone ever get this code? P271100 - Unexpected Mechanical Gear Disengagement
maybe instead of the music, you could actually explain what you are doing and what to watch out for just saying
Debra Johnson I have other videos explaining how to remove the transfer case and the dsg transmission, just saying
@@carwerks101 ok cause I took forever trying to find that 6mm bolt on the inside of the differential on both sides pain in the ass lol
As soon as that racket started i stopped watching. I do that on any videos that do that. Kudos on not trying to get thumbs up and subscribes.
Interesting! Sorry for the dumb question, but: If you take the transmission off, what's holding the engine in place? I thought the Golf engine was held in place by two mounts on each side of the car (bolted onto the main beam) and a central (lower) anti-torque attachment to the subframe.
sorte18 I have a engine brace up top holding it
Is that drum the VW approved tool? lol.
Dirk it’s still under development
@@carwerks101 Better get on that patent
