- Fallout Season 1 has been streaming on Prime Video for nearly a week now, and, from the early reactions, the streaming platform's adaptation of Bethesda's beloved video game franchise is already a hit. We're still awaiting official word from Prime Video on if we'll be getting Fallout Season 2, but we sat down with Todd Howard and Jonathan Nolan to get the scoop on all the Fallout lore tidbits that fans may have missed in Season 1.
The games, from Fallout 3 to Fallout 4, all the way to Fallout 76 and Fallout New Vegas, obviously play a heavy role in informing the Prime Video Fallout tv show. Amazon Prime Video pulled out all the stops, which we dig into in our exclusive Fallout interview with Fallout creator Todd Howard and executive producer Jonah Nolan.
We discuss a wide breadth of topics, including Walton Goggins’ The Ghoul and whether or not we’ll see a Fallout mod specifically for him, whether we’ll see Moldaver again, Cooper Howard ultimately inspiring Vault Boy, and more!

@@realEpicGold NV has the public consensus for having one of the most complex and well put together stories in video game history, in terms of gameplay sure but in plot and story fallout 4 pales in comparison
@@abhinavgokhale6917 I've always agreed that New Vegas has the best story and especially RPG elements of the modern games, but Fallout 4s gameplay is just so much more accessible and fun imo that it wins out in terms of my enjoyment.
There you conspiracy theorists go.... Todd says Fallout NV is canon and the timeline stands, he wasn't trying to sabotage New Vegas. The Timeline just works! It now has 16X the detail. And Daddy Howard says we haven't seen the last of the NCR.

There's quite a few questions she didn't ask which a lot of fans are wondering about.
She didn't asked about how it was possible that Vault 32 got cleaned up in record time and by whom?
How did Hank nuke Shady Sands?
How come no one in Vault 33 didn't have any problems with not recognizing anyone from Vault 32 during the wedding?
Hank said he was sorry to hear about Vault 32's oversears death which indicates he was communicating with Moldaver for some time, so how long were the raiders (or rather NCR) in Vault 32 and why didn't they disturb anything during their time there, there's lot's of stuff they could've brought back to their base. The fact that all oversears of Vault 32 and 33 were from Vault 31, shouldn't Hank have known everyone frozen there which were all Vault-Tec employees and thus have known Moldaver wasn't one of them?
Literally all these questions are answered in the show. Hank is a vault tech worker, so obviously he knew they were all vault tech workers. He nuked shady sands because he is a fault tech worke, he goes to new vegas at the end where they would have that. Vault 32 was clearly cleaned by vault 31ers, multiple in 33 at the time@@Radwar99
@@JamesThePokemonHunter he nuked it because his wife took his kids and lived there, so he took them back and killed everyone there. They were all part of management, not cientists or geniuses so they didn't know who Moldaver was.

Seeing Todd happy about how well this show is going made me stoked, mans needed a win and I’m glad this is pumping up his tyres.

Great decision to keep the lore instead of going a different route made me as a huge fan appreciate the show that much more
Oh don't worry, Bethesda breaks lore all the time, this show was no different and neither will be season 2 or Fallout 5.

Seeing how involved BGS and Howard were, seeing how big of a fan Nolan was of the games (and he said the writers were even bigger fans), it proves that respecting the game/source material makes an adaptation so much better.
It really shits on the current Hollywood mantra so typified by the Halo show and the Witcher show of "we're just going to use the universe and do our own thing." I'm so sick of narcissistic Hollywood writers these days thinking they are better than the source material. They never are.
The mantra has always been a terrible mindset. In order to adapt the material, you first need to understand and appreciate it; in order to know when to take liberties with the property. People need only look at any solid videogame adaptations (i.e. Arcane; Last of Us), to see that the creators love and appreciate the source material. So, any modifications or added material they wish to make, is done with the purpose of adding to the material. Not detracting from it.
After the recent Witcher fiasco. This show gave me hope.

This is already one of my favorite interviews I've ever seen.
The interviewer did a fantastic job of not only asking intriguing and insightful questions, but the much more difficult part of organically keeping the answers and conversations going and interesting.

Intertwining it with the Canon game universe gives it more value to long-time players. It's more challenging but also more rewarding and why fan bases fall away from adaptations

Kind of funny how he said the 76 apocalypse is "nice" considering they pretty much took out every PvP aspect essentially driving off all the raider type players. They removed survival and Nuclear Winter 😅😂

Love listening to these guys explain the reasons behind some of the decisions in the show. Cements some of my own thoughts and makes me think about other things in a new light. Great show, all the thought put into it is really apparent.

Please all of you writers, listen to what Nolan is saying. It's not your job to inject the IP with your personal world and story. What they taught you in Cal Arts and other schools is incorrect and was based off of a history of novellas and books or superstars like Salinger. When you are working with a shared IP and pre-established world, THIS is how you approach it. Kudos to Nolan and his team for taking the risks and going back to the sources at Bethesda. Great show!
