I've lost track of Collider but I used to watch Movie talk every day starting back years ago. I miss watching all of you guys and of course I miss Jon Schnepp. I stumbled on this video and really enjoyed watching your interview.
It's impossible for every actor to not feel comfortable with Perri, she just makes the best, interesting and well thought questions ever, always about the project and what the actor/actress acomplished with it, best female interviewer EVER (and also she loves cinema as much as we do)
@@PerriNemiroff Omg your reply made my day 😭 you deserve it cause you're really one of the best female interviewers out there today (and my personal favorite ngl 😌) also congratulations to YOU Perri for everything you accomplished, keep up the good work ❤️
Not only that but getting a 40 minutes interview in junkets is INSANE! (I write for an amateur Portuguese website and I got 5 minutes with Graham Wagner and Jonathan Nolan, which is already huge for us). Getting that amount of time just show how experienced and professional she is. I absolutely love watching her interviews specially when it comes to a Yellowjackets actor!
Perri is definitely up there with the best of the best interviewers, asking thoughtful, creative questions in such an effortlessly conversational way! And I agree with others that already commented on how Ella kept on mentioning "that's a really good question"-- that's a sign of a talented and thoughtful interviewer! Ella seems such a sweet, sincere person, too! And she crushed her role as Lucy in Fallout. Bravo to both you ladies! 😊
ANOTHER great interview. Perri has this ability to allow the actor to be comfortable and answer the questions asked, sincerely. Also, Ella is incredibly brilliant. She is smart and confident in her answers AND was able to answer them without punching up her answers to be cool. She was truly present for the interview, and my wife and I hope to see her soon in another movie/TV show. PS - Yellowjackets killed me. My wife loved it, but I watched it for her (so we could experience it, together), and her performance at Jackie was incredible. Thank you, Perri...for Ladies Night is a great venue to celebrate the actors/roles of women in cinema.
I love what she said about not overthinking the comedy. The most laugh out loud funny moment in *Fallout* for me was "she steals dads!" and the earnestness of it is what really sold the joke.
@28:00 her talking about her approach to the comedic moments for her character is really fascinating- it’s this level of awareness and skill that makes the difference between a good and great actor, and it’s a key ingredient in the success of the show. Congratulations Ella 😊
Perri, you've done it again! The best interviewer out there. No question about it. The ease at which you make your guests feel, and the questions are always in depth and not the same. As a viewer, and fan its AWESOME to see. Thank you again for ALL that you do. You are so good at your job, and your energy and excitement makes your guests feel it.
She’s right about the key to Lucy is the okey-dokey attitude. The scene with Wilzig, where she has to do something distasteful to him, she’s like: this has to be done, I can do this, deep breath, okey-dokey, let’s get it done. I love that line delivery.
She seems so cool! Makes me appreciate her acting more, between fallout and yellowjackets her characters have a pretty different vibe than Ella irl lol had no idea she was English
Best interviewer I've seen following the Fallout zeitgeist of late. Truly insightful and passionate off-the-cuff questions, great improvisation and full respect paid. Ella is a smart lady, and definitely flourished throughout this process.
Amazing interview! Congrats, the only thing that was missing for me was Arcane! I thought she was going to talk about Arcane a little, but I will wait for another interview like this when Season 2 comes. Happy to see Ella.
Great interview,l. I loved Ella Purnell performance in Fallout, so.much so that in think that the show would not have worked as well with out it. She's the heart and soul of that show
I absolutely loved this, and loved both of them, I am a dude, but this is such a great example of what a ladies night is, I've seen it from afar, it's pretty nice hahahaha
Already finished the series, it was a pretty damn entertaining and thrilling show. The Ghoul definitely being my favorite character but every character is great to be fair, especially our main 3. Lucy and Maximus really grew on me throughout the show and ended up liking them a lot by the end. I would give the first Season a solid 8/10, I was not that familiar with the games, played Fallout Last Vegas (I think that what it was called) once way back on my PS3 and yeah but no nothing of the world really or it's lore ended up liking the show, definitely will be checking out Season 2 when it comes out.
This is such a fun and candid interview. Interviewer had great questions. Ella has great charisma she has a great career ahead of her. The spy kids part hit home lol
Great interviewer with interesting and fun questions, that made me subscribe instantly. That's how it should be done instead of always asking actors the same basic stuff like in many other interviews.
She must be very professional and experienced to talk so relaxed and happily about the series after all these nightmarish scenes the authors have laid upon her character. What a cool person! 🤩👍
this was really fun! I wish there was a spoilery section where you could talk about the season in full. I want to know her thoughts about the finger, about her father & her mother on the show, what does the ghoul represent in Lucy's life! I wish you get to do this again!
I haven't watched Yellowjackets, I really should, it's on a list but when Fallout dropped it jumped the queue cause I used to sell Consoles and Games for about 9years of my life. Fallout was just one of those games that stuck with me and I am horrible at FPS and any shooter. The world is what won me over. I still have my 101 hoodie Bethesda sent to all the store managers prior to Fallout 4 release. So when I work a con at gaming vendors/stalls I wear it so people can find the gamer in the stall they can come to for questions regarding products. But then to see players come up to me in full cosplay and we just geek out, it freaken warms my heart. Ella did amazing in the role of Lucy it really felt like a live-action cutscene in the game she was that good. It got me to pick up my game again after a while of not playing to just roam the wasteland all over again.
When they mentioned Beetlejuice, I freaked out! I actually got to see the Broadway touring show of it friday!!! I met Justin Collette (The Beetlejuice actor) and a few of the other ones, I got pictures and autographs!
I watched a making of a film once and there was some gel or cream that the actor had on their hand that caused them to sneeze so do you even need to fake sneeze?
Great interview with one of my favourite actress. Here's to her career trajectory following Scarlett Johansson's breakout performance in Lost in Translation and Girl With A Pearl Earring
Scarlett hit it big pretty early. She broke out in the Horse Whisperer. It was several more years, though before she really started getting good adult roles.
@@GrahamCStrouse True. If we take Tim Burton as a taste maker; Winona Ryder, Jenna Ortega... he cast Ella in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Similar to casting Aussie Bella Heathcote in Dark Shadows the general audience weren't buying it. Ella was lucky Sweet Bitter happened
Ella talking about Lucy not daring to think she would become an overseer is because to her, her duty is to reproduce. It's a little disturbing given the fact that Lucy was so enthusiastic to finally be able to contribute to the vault that she didn't even care who she's marrying. It's a little disturbing because that's what really going to be for women in the post-apocalyptic world. But i do appreciate it, it's subtle and it was funny in the show but they still showed how awful it is to be in an apocalypse when you're a woman
Well that’s just for their vault since they were meant to breed and repopulate Earth. If you played the games you’d see other vaults had female scientists and overseer’s and what not. Had she been in a different vault she could have been an overseer or something else. But that’s why she believes that’s her main use.
Just finished watching Fallout, totally infatuated by Lucy, thinking "in real life she is probably boring, stuck up and arrogant" ............................................................................................. .. ....

This is a fabulous interview! Ella looked so good and seemed so engaged, and that's thanks to the stellar questions she was asked! Great job, Perri!

She is phenomenal as Lucy.
Ella Purnell is so good in Fallout that I doubt the show would have worked as well with out it. She is the heart and soul of that show.
She seems so cool! Makes me appreciate her acting more, between fallout and yellowjackets her characters have a pretty different vibe than Ella irl lol had no idea she was English
She also had a leading role in Arcane, one of the other few really good video adaptations out there. Ella voices Jinx in that one.
Love this! Perri you always nail it! Ella is amazing! Great interview altogether 🫶🏼
