I think I would use this for a health planner: breakfast, lunch, dinner, exercise, wellness, and so on! Thanks! I was wondering what to do with this type of planner.
That's what I was thinking
Great idea!
I’ve been using the top three rows for Morning, Afternoon, and Evening, fourth row for things to do that day, then I put a piece of washi tape to section off the bottom three rows. I use that for things that aren’t constrained to a particular day - lists of things to do that week, errands, more decor, journaling, etc. That’s working out pretty well for me. Except that I don’t put usually need to put anything work related in the planner (all my work planning is digital) so the first two rows are often blank unless I happen to be off for an appt or something. I’m going to add some stickers there to break it up some.
I love this idea! Like, keep the top couple rows for daily and then the bottom for weekly goals/tasks. Now I know what to do with this planner!
@@toriw7812 Happy to help! I love seeing everyone's planners that have the random stickers all over the spread, they are so beautiful, but in practice for me I find that I have to keep things more predictable in my planner, so I've stayed with this method for a while. Maybe a bit of adhd, I don't know. It's interesting seeing what works for everyone, we are all so different.
I wanted the girl with goals planner, but didn't get it because of this layout. But after watching this, I could have used the top 3 rows for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Then used a row for water, a row for vitamins, and workouts. And the last for self-care.
Thank you!!! This kind has always stumped me! I like both of the options - this type of system can help me go from two planners to tracking everything in one planner!
Omg I stopped what I was doing to see this. I feel like me and maybe 10 other people on this planet have the color block layout!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I had one and never used it to its full potential, so I have tons of unused pages that I sometimes frankenplan. This video gave me some new ideas.
I just got the Disney princess planner and it is colorblock. So I am learning. I have setup my week as kind of a hybrid of her two options here.
Being that this was my first planner and I bought it last fall, I would separate it by: Appointments, To Do, School (when my son was at home; I used 2 blocks), Work, and Meal plans. Now, I just plan, mostly keeping meetings & appointments in the top block, everything else goes below the 1st block, and meal plans in the last block. Sometimes, I use washi or other stickers to create separation.
Helpful, thank you.
So glad you showed how to work with this layout. I didn’t know what it would be like using this. Thanks for sharing! 💛💛💛💛💛
I just got this planner. We have 4 kids hubby and myself. So I'm going to use a row per person and suppers.
I definitely see this as a family layout. Cleaning, meals, kid 1, kid 2, errands, exercise, home
Yay! So happy! I have one and seriously didn't quite know what to do with it for non-academic purposes.
I bought for real estate but wasn't sure how I was gonna use it. Thanks for this video. Now that I have watched it I will use it for keeping track of real estate related tasks (calls, cards, contracts, showings, etc).
My first HP was, unknowingly, the color block layout! It was an 18 month planner, and I stuck with it all 18 months, and that was HARD! I just pretended it was a regular vertical planner, like you did in the first option! 💛
I love how you explained the best ways to use this layout. Thank you, Heather!! ❤️
So glad you posted this! I've been looking for ideas. I'm thinking about using it for my personal goals planning, so faith, health, finances, relationships, professional development and personal development each getting a row so I can plan out how I'm meeting those goals instead of just hoping I actually do the thing!
Love your ideas
You make this look so easy . Love it 💛
Found a HP Color Block Layout in Ross for $10.99 and so glad you did this video because I was clueless. Thank you 💖
It’s a great wellness planner to track wellness like weight, water intake, sleep, etc. ChappyPlans on UA-cam does this often with this layout.
I'm so excited for this video because I do have a colorblock layout I've been bangin my head trying to figure out how to use thank you so much Heather!!!
Thank you for sharing Heather! Been needing ideas for this layout.
I PURCHASED 2 COLORBLOCK PLANNERS AND AM SO GLAD YOU DID THIS VIDEO. THANK YOU. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DECORATE IT
Oh man!! This totally throws my original idea for my color block layout out the window… Thanks for the new ideas and inspiration Heather!
If I were going to use this layout I would use it for each child (we have 4 kids 😁), a row for myself (like appts), homeschool events, and then meals for each day. I love my classic where I can still make it pretty and functional but I can see how this type of layout might be a little more difficult to decorate. For now, I love having a planner for each area of my life. One faith planner, one for homeschooling, and one for everyday life 😊💛
Omg thank you for this!!!! I have tried colorblock but I could not figure it out!!! Now I want to try again 😁😁💛💛💛
That is definitely for purposeful planning 💛
I started the color block plan and it’s my first week
I just bought this planner and im thinking of doing section for bills, migraine tracker and meal planning
I'm going to share this with my daughter she Homeschools her little one, I think this could be helpful for her. Thank you, 💛
First time I see a color block, it looks interesting to layout 💛
Thanks for the video as always great information 💛💛💛
It’s like planning has become more about decorating than actually planning lol
I love it
Great jideas for sure...Thanx bunches!!
Cool color combo!!
I’m using a color block planner for my teacher planner this year. I teach 5 elementary art classes a day, so the extra two blocks get used to to do/to copy/etc
I'd use them for 1. First job 2. Second job 3. Third job 4. Personal/events i want to attend/dr app 5. My pet's vet app/meds/etc 6. My child's schedule/activities
Great info thanks for sharing💛
Hi ! First comment! I love Heather so much! Have you bought the seasonal floral sticker book? Ya'll have a great week! Congrats, Heather on all your success!
I don’t have any color block pages, but if I ever do, these are some great ideas. Thx! 💛💛
My first thought was for each line to be a block of time. Maybe because it was originally a student planner? Very good for a person who is super busy and needs to keep track of where they are and what they are doing each day. #kellofafan
I would still use 2 blocks for one thing. So a pink and white box for something like home or work.
Very pretty, but I can't imagine how much could be written in the 2nd scheme. Do you have any after the pen examples of a full week?
The Dinsey princess colorblock layout has colorblock on the weekend, too. Does that vary from the student version?
Now I'm definitely looking forward to my girls with goals planner, which also has a color block layout.
I see you use the student stickers in the color block planner but do you have any stickers that is geared for school event the kids are active in. Like the different types of sports, drama, music, games, field trips, no school, staff development, and other things related to school activities.
I just bought my first planner ever and it was a color block happy planner. I looked through every planner in the store and chose this planner because I want to keep my different responsibilities in the separate areas. I work as a secretary, I am pregnant with baby #5, with 3 busy teenagers in the mix AND want to be very intentional about meal planning. So MAYBE i got in over my head with the color block?? I honestly have watched tons and tons of planner videos, got my planner and now I keep sitting down with it and doing nothing because Im so overwhelemed :(
An idea for "How to". What about the big and classic square punch????
Heather did do a video for this years ago. She had some great ideas.
I feel like the color block isn’t that different from decorating the hourly. I largely leave my field undecorated and place stickers as I go. Margins get the bulk of the deco first, then standard/known events. Thanks for this series!
I HOPE YOU COME OUT WITH PURPLE FLOWERS AND GREEN LEAVES NEXT STICKER BOOK YOU DO...OH, AND A FAITH STICKER BOOK WITH QUOTES WOULD BE COOL ALSO.
WHY does Sat/Sun have to be different?!? Ugh! My "weekend" is Wed/Thu. I could relate the days and have a Friday start planner.... would that be worth it??
I can see how this layout would be great for moms with multiple kids.
You could break them up into 2 lines each topic - for urgent and needed ie. morning, noon, night or divide into kids and they each have 2 lines - school and home. Then the last row for self care or faith or extra's you may want to complete during the day
How do I decorate the teacher layout.
Who else is watching this in 2024 and wondering how did we ever plan without Heather Kell's sticker books?
I’d use a row for meals.
