Most ppl don’t understand this planner thing! I waste more time and energy trying to explain! I’m over it and just smile and don’t even respond! I love to decorate and use a planner instead of a boring calendar! Thx for all the great tips!
Fly Lady didn't work for me, but she has worked for tons of people that I know! And I feel like with her weekly/daily breakdowns, it would work well for a planner. If nothing else, seeing her cleaning schedules might give you an idea of how to organize your personal cleaning schedule.
There are so many reasons why I need this series and especially having someone who understands my need to plan to start getting my HAPPY back again. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Hello Heather, I have been trying to plan in a planner for years, but never stuck with it. I even tried planning on my cell phone that didn’t work. I have so much going on in my life right now from starting a business, a new podcast and working too. I knew I needed a planner to keep me on track with everything. I came across your channel and I knew the Happy Planner was for me. I’m Graphic Design and Photography major so creativity is my passion. I want to thank you for inspiring me and for your great content. You have also inspired me to create my own Happy Planner UA-cam channel. Thank you 😀
Hello, I started watching this because I do watch all of your newer videos, but I think this will help me to overcome being nervous about how to begin. I have everything I need but just been afraid of messing up my planner. I really want to do this because I believe it will be therapeutic and relaxing, and a good way to enjoy creating something that you can enjoy and be proud that you made it. Thank you for this series, I know you said your going to be doing another and if you do I'll gain more confidence and knowledge from that. Thank you so much for sharing and showing how to get started and just basically how to plan😊
Love these "how to's" - transitioning into more functional planning using the vertical hourly and would love to see more ideas on how to incorporate this with the daily insert sheets from HP.
Even though I’m already a decorative planner, I still love watching these videos. I can always learn something new. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to the series 💓
Really like this, I’ve used a planner/diary for years but not the decorative kind. I am really liking the decorative part. Your videos are helping me combine the two, functional and pretty! Thanks, be well
I have a daily routine (sort of ) and a basic week plan (Project Day, Organize Day, Cleaning Day, Desk Day, Errand Day, Yard Day and Planning Day) There is also fun mixed in each day. Having this schedule automatically makes time for bill paying, cleaning and other routine tasks. As for my faith and fitness (alliteration? yeah!!) , if it's really important, I do it first thing in the day. That way, if I get sidetracked, at least those things are done.
Hi, Thank's for your video! I'm beginning my first happy planner (Wellness Edition) and you video help me to increase my "creativity" and learn how to use it. I live in France and we don't have a lot of video so good as yours!! Thanks again!!!!!
I really enjoyed this video! Those are all the same things that stress me out also - especially the last two! I feel like even when I have a meal list, I am not good at carrying it to fruition. I laughed to myself because I really the teacher coming out in you during this activity! I taught 8th grade ELA for 27 years! Lol! :)
This is great. I’m new to planning and budgeting. Purchased the Happy planner and saw your video and decided to combine faith and budgeting together. If you can do anything with those two would be great. Thank you
As a newbie, I am so excited for this series! Your videos are always helpful and inspiring! I would love to see a video about how to plan for fitness - I struggle with exercising other than my weekly yoga.
I'm so glad you're doing this series! My mom bought me a the classic mom planner a couple years ago and I never could get the hang of it, I just got the wild styled mini and can't wait to use it!
Loved your video!! I have been wanting to know how to utilize my stickers but this might cause me to buy more sticker books 🥰. Any suggestions on planning study schedule for college as well as everyday things?
I'm homeschooling 3 kids this year for the first time ever and I'm just waiting for my teacher's planner to get here! I'd love to see how you would use your planner for 3 different kids, when 2 of them are using the same grade level curriculum? I feel like it would be redundant to write the same assignments twice, but I'd like to keep the 2 of them separate. Any tips?
Thanks for another amazing video! My little one (5 year old) has taken a real interest in watching and helping with my planner so we just bought her own. Problem now is we don’t really know what to do with it because she has so little of her own to track. I would love to see a how to plan for younger children that want to join in on the fun!
I think kid planners are great for memory keeping. Doodle a day, writing down a gratitude, decorating it, writing down little things they have planned. Making bucket lists.
Love your videos they’re always so informative and I love your layouts. I do have a question about the series I do notice that when you do your planner you have different sections like I do. one for business, home ,catchall etc. are you gonna show us how you do the series with the different sections because I normally don’t put like my pay the bills or meal plan in my catchall like you just showed. Can you show us how you would plan the decorative planner if you have different sections.
When I only used one planner, I utilized the boxes by Things To Do (checklists and plans), Here's What Really Happened (quick notes about the day), and then a gratitude/wellness box just noting how I felt, or something I was thankful for, or even track meals/fitness/etc.
You can divided them into aspects of your life - home, work, hobby. You can plan in one, gratitude/faith in one; health/wellness in one. Depends a lot on your lifestyle and if you have kid stuff you’d want separated. Or you want work/appointments, household chores and self care divided out. Stuff like that. And You can actually white out the lines or one set of them and make longer boxes and not have them be in three sections.
Hi Heather, I'm interested in how you'd decorate a planner if you do long shifts. I've recently gotten in to planning, and I want to have cute decorative spreads, but when I work 12 hours, 3-4 days a week, I don't know what to put on those days when all I do is work, and then come home and eat dinner. I don't like leaving those days blank! 🤣
Thanks Heather, this helps in the time of nothing to plan. I love your sticker books too, can't wait for volume 3. One request maybe include stickers to go on top of dashboards to lable weekly and monthly section in our planners. Thanks very much.
Hi Heather, I have a twin sister too and our birthday is July 9th. I also struggle with noting our birthday too so I just googled it for us. "Mine & Lisa's Birthday". Just trying to help.
Hello Heather! I will say that I love your videos, even though I have a totally different planner brand! I'm not the decorative planning type but I'm starting a journey of being that type of person. I just purchased my first ever Happy Planner for faith planning. I also purchased another planner for functionality and it has a weekly view with hourly time. I'm having a difficult time planning the monthly and weekly spreads. I spend too much time trying to coordinate the different color highlighters to the events! If possible, I would like to see how you would decorate on this type of spread (monthly and hourly) in a planner that is not Happy Planner? Also, what is the name of the pens you are using in this video? Thanks, Suwanda
@@kellofaplan Okay! This is my first time using an hourly spread and I'm not sure if it's for me. I will make it work. Thank you so much for the insightful videos.

I found when I’m struggling with a planner to go back to basics. Black pen. Maybe a mild liner and write and then decorate around it as I go thru the week to get the feel of it.
Can you make a how to for starting a planner Instagram? I just started one but I don’t know any other planners personally so I don’t have any followers yet
Every time I watch you, I learn something new. Thanks!

Awesome series. Nobody likes dentist 🦷 but the longer we postpone the worse it is. Make your appointment! I just went today. 😁
A motivational plan on how to clean the home so that’s sorted each and every week that makes you really want to be house proud
Carla Caldwell watch the Secret Slob
Clean mama.com would be a good resource as well

Lol it’s funny how your “fake spreads” always end up so realistic 😂
This one was both cute and inspiring seeing your own process ❤️

So helpful! With a “plan list”’ it is so easy to keep the planner focused on function AND looking beautiful!
Love this and I am excited for the series you have planned. Will you do a wellness spread, please? Thank you.💗
Even if I didn't hear a word during this video. Then sunshine nails brought me joy.
I have a hard time hearing Heather too...but the nails ❤️
I didn’t mean to comment on the sound. I can hear the video just fine. I was saying wow to the nails. They scream summer. I love them.
Mary Doukakis you can’t hear? I had sound issues a few weeks ago but as far as I know they are all fixed now?

I would love to have more ideas of how to utilize the 3 sections in a vertical planner, besides separating them by morning/afternoon/evening!

Tonya F maybe journal, use decorative stickers, put your weekly steps or meal plan on the more empty days?

book three has already been ordered but this is a good idea for future books! thanks!
Omg book 3?!?!? YASSSS!!!!
This is so helpful!
Would you do the same process of keeping a work and personal/other planner? I used two planners (minis)
Hi, how would you apply this to a dashboard layout?
When you do your week in advance do you always go by it by that day or do you skip some things due to other things.
"My creative space!" - definitely this!
I get asked a lot but how do you write future stuff down to remember. Haha the cutest post it notes in the world I usually say! Haha 😂
I have a next week/month section in my weekly spreads that helps me think about future things. And the monthly page is great for that too.
what markers are those? 😍 love the blue green spread 💚💙
I would love to know too! Simply gorgeous!

February Silverfall
I was taught to put the other person first. That would be Lisa’s and my birthday. Lisa’s birthday and my birthday, combined. 🤷♀️
