Maybe not innovative, but I reused my sugar scrub container by adding dish soap & water to catch mosquitoes, gnats, etc. They fly into the water but their wings get stuck by the soap so they can't fly & drown. I bought some little body wash samples on clearance & when I used them up, I cleaned them out & filled them with lotion. I put 1 in my purse, work bag, & another on my bedside table. The original lotion bottles are too big/heavy to fit in my purse, etc.

It's amazing how the little things can bring back such strong feelings. Those moments you spent with you mom are so precious. 💕
I WISH brands would start refills more. I’m so bummed that a lot of the great packaging goes to waste, meanwhile they can just sell refills. It’s less money for customers and less money for companies to spend on production of packaging. Even mascara, I bought one and the packaging is so nice and luxurious, I wish I could just pop a new tube of mascara into it. Makes me so sad and mad. But I’m glad to see other people reuse their packaging too. I started keeping my old bottles and just buy refills for what I can: shower gel, body oils etc.
I completely agree! It's so frustrating to see great packaging go to waste when brands could simply offer refills. I love your idea about mascara-being able to pop in a new tube would be fantastic. I read somewhere that makeup used to be made in refillable glass or metal containers. It wasn't until plastic became more cost-effective ( aka. cheaper to make) that companies switched to disposable packaging. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I also use the round food storage container lids under my small potted plants to catch water drain off 😊. I also learnt from another channel that you can save a laundry bottle with a pump & fill with water for portable handwashing for a picnic, camping & barbecuing. Spray nozzles from cleaning supply bottles can be reused on bottles that don't have sprayers. ❤ trying to reuse & repurpose what I have as much as possible. Very nice video. .Do thank you.. 1- please usually use gloves on using hydrogen peroxide to protect your hand.. 2- for the beautiful perfume bottles; I thought that a small shop that buy glass can have this diamond instrument & can cut the neck of the bottle & it's upper part for you & turn the borders smooth & seem like a glorious actual vas. .❤
Thank you so much for your kind words and useful tips! The suggestion about cutting the neck of the bottle is so clever. I will check to see if any stores near me can offer that service. I appreciate you sharing these with me! 🥰
Yes, it can be used on coloured fabrics, but with caution. Hydrogen peroxide can sometimes cause mild bleaching, especially on dark colours. Before using it, do a spot test on an inconspicuous area to check for discolouration. Apply sparingly, let it sit for only a few minutes(around 3min), and rinse thoroughly to avoid any bleaching effects.
Great question! After making homemade rosemary oil, I usually dry the leftover rosemary sprigs. You can reuse them in homemade potpourri, but often they become too saturated and might need to be discarded. Thanks for asking!
Good news Im not the average woman 😂 but regardless I do look at the bottles of cleaning supplies and reuse the sprays or try to come up with my own formulas to refill them. It just that they are plastic and not glass like here for the liquids so they dont last very long. Even so I liked some of the ideas here, the eyeshadow pallet for like a lip balm wax since it comes with the mini mirror. The lotion containers as canisters for the bathroom like floss qtips cotton swabs or mini wipes.
Hi! I’m glad you liked some of the ideas. 😊 It’s wonderful that you find ways to reuse and refill your cleaning supply bottles. We all try to repurpose everyday items to help save the Earth 🌍 Every effort counts! Thanks for sharing your creative solutions!
Hi there, I''m glad you liked the DIY ideas. The roll-on bottles I use are typically 5 ml. They’re perfect for small, portable projects. Thanks for your question!
¡Gran idea! 😄
YOU CAN REUSE CONTAINERS THE WAY YOU WANT IT'S TRUE BUT NO NEED FOR EXCESS POURING A LITTLE BIT OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IS ENOUGH AND WASH AS USUAL AND NEVER OPEN THE PERFUME BOTTLES UNLESS YOU DON'T NEED IT BECAUSE AFTER OPENING COMES STO AIR CONTACT AND ONCE IT COMES TO AIR CONTACT THE SHELF LIFE GETS SORTER THEN ACTUAL.
Thank you for sharing your insight. You're right-using just a little hydrogen peroxide is sufficient. Regarding perfume bottles, I appreciate the reminder. Keeping them sealed helps maintain their shelf life.
I don't wear makeup, but I have bought a tiny pack of ziploc bags from the drugstore, each about 1.5"x 1.5", for carrying pills. They're lightweight and slip into my pocket.
That's a great idea! Small plastic bags are indeed very convenient for carrying items like pills. I've actually discovered a recycling method to store small items, which I'll be sharing in my next recycling tip video in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
Yes, you're right, and I apologize for the oversight. Since I had a small bottle to fill, I only used 2 tablespoons of jojoba oil. Thank you for pointing that out!
I have some great containers that, unfortunately, to be able to repurpose them, you end up having to break them because they're specifically made to not be refillable. Like some of my perfume bottles.
That’s frustrating, ZimVader! Some containers are definitely tricky to repurpose. For those perfume bottles, you might consider using them as decorative pieces instead (maybe with dried flower). They can add a touch of elegance to your space even when empty. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Hi Rop, you read that right. The floss I was using wasn't thin enough, so it wasn't doing a good enough job cleaning, which unfortunately resulted in a costly dental bill for me. :(
Hi Tina! I know 12 sounds like a lot at first, but I thought about it and can easily think of at least 10 with just the basics: shampoo, conditioner, face wash, face lotion, toothpaste, sunscreen, lip balm, makeup, makeup remover, and hand lotion. Isn't that surprising? You never really think about it until you actually count them!
12 products a day is way too many ...here is what our house does ...same soap for body n face n occasional talc if d weather is hot ...subscreen and deo or perfume ...few times a week shampoo n conditioner ...oil ...toothpaste isnt beauty i hope 😊
Hi Amita, I understand where you're coming from. Simplifying your routine can be very effective, and your approach sounds very practical. Thank you for sharing! 😊
I would suggest replacing your talc powder with something natural like arrowroot powder or tapioca starch. Talc is cancer causing, which is why typical baby powders aren't on the market anymore (many lawsuits). Hope this helps.
@@MoniTablet-gm8qf thanks for the suggestion 😃 yes more natural the better ...I occassionally use absorb medicated talc for summers to avoid the heat rashes ...
Silk thread is a natural fiber, so it’s biodegradable and comes from a renewable source, which makes it more eco-friendly compared to synthetic alternatives. However, it’s important to consider the production process and choose ethically sourced silk when possible. Also, I believe most common threads are made from cotton, which is also biodegradable and more affordable than silk.
It might look like a lot, but I find it very enjoyable and therapeutic! I try to make the most of my free time and fit these activities into my day. Thanks for watching! 😊
I make all of my own toiletry products, and I spend less time/less stress than back when I was buying toxic store bought stuff. Many I make faster than I could find the health&beauty aisle. Plus it's done in the comfort of home. I save so much time in stores. Worth it in more ways than I can count. And I feel better using my own natural products. Highly recommend. Making your own quickly becomes the "new normal". I've never looked back. Hope this helps.
Hi Kathy, thank you for your feedback! I've noticed that other viewers have had similar issues with the text size. I'm working on improving this in my newer videos to make it a more pleasant experience for everyone! 😊

What do you normally do with the leftover Rosemary sprigs and mint leaves?
Great question! After making homemade rosemary oil, I usually dry the leftover rosemary sprigs. You can reuse them in homemade potpourri, but often they become too saturated and might need to be discarded. Thanks for asking!
You can also freeze rosemary in some oil to use for cooking in ice cube trays :-) and can use fresh mint for tea!

Hi, I want to ask a question. How much mililiters on the roll on bottles? Is it 3 ml or 5 ml? Cause you give me ideas for diy tide. Thanks ☺
Hi there, I''m glad you liked the DIY ideas. The roll-on bottles I use are typically 5 ml. They’re perfect for small, portable projects. Thanks for your question!
most store bought essential oil roller bottles will be 10ml. Hope this helps.
Keeping them sealed helps maintain their shelf life.
girl forgot how to turn caps off 😭
I don't wear makeup, but I have bought a tiny pack of ziploc bags from the drugstore, each about 1.5"x 1.5", for carrying pills. They're lightweight and slip into my pocket.
That's a great idea! Small plastic bags are indeed very convenient for carrying items like pills. I've actually discovered a recycling method to store small items, which I'll be sharing in my next recycling tip video in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
I reuse my pill bottles for coins, vitamins, small bits & bobs, etc 😊.
For the rosemary hair oil treatment did you mean two tablespoons of jojoba oil, not two cups?
Yes, you're right, and I apologize for the oversight. Since I had a small bottle to fill, I only used 2 tablespoons of jojoba oil. Thank you for pointing that out!
❤❤❤
Hi Nayara, thank you for the love and have a wonderful day! 🥰
😊
Hi Thora, thank you!

Changing your dental floss led to costly dental bills? Or did I misread that?
Hi Rop, you read that right. The floss I was using wasn't thin enough, so it wasn't doing a good enough job cleaning, which unfortunately resulted in a costly dental bill for me. :(
12 different beauty products a day? Not even when I was young and vain. 😮
Why would band aides need a container?
Sometimes it gets lost in my backpack or makeup bag. This way makes it easier to keep bandaid clean from dirt and sand. 😊
if band aids kick around in a bag long enough the paper wrappers get ratty and rip. A container keeps them clean, dry and handy/easier to find.
Just a note if you have cats, tea tree oil is toxic to them
Hi MayCleaver, thank you for the reminder! It's always important to keep our furry friends safe. 🐈

Sorry, are you referring to the subtitles? I will make sure to pay closer attention to them in the future.
Since when is silk thread eco friendly?
Silk thread is a natural fiber, so it’s biodegradable and comes from a renewable source, which makes it more eco-friendly compared to synthetic alternatives. However, it’s important to consider the production process and choose ethically sourced silk when possible. Also, I believe most common threads are made from cotton, which is also biodegradable and more affordable than silk.
something is wrong, how much free time do you need to do all of this? 😮😮😮😮
I am very interested in recycling as much as possible but your type is too small to read. A spoken explanation would be much easier.
Hi Kathy, thank you for your feedback! I've noticed that other viewers have had similar issues with the text size. I'm working on improving this in my newer videos to make it a more pleasant experience for everyone! 😊
