    How much did it cost to swap from 5MT to 6MT? Im tryna get a golf 2.5 and might do a tune on it. And MIGHT try to swap 6MT from a GTi? Any thoughts?

    • @Moore91
      @Moore91  5 років тому +4

      My old spreadsheet for my swap states total was $2770. Although that included quite a few upgrade parts like APR cable bracket, vacuum pump delete, poly trans mount (which I'm not even using, was too harsh for my taste) and the diesel geek short shifter. Without the extras I think it's about 1800.

    Damn I got the exact same setup except I got an auto with the 7200rpm IE tcu tune and my abient temps are more lower and I only got 75k miles!
    Here's my mod list:
    Spa Turbo Intake Manifold
    Stage 2 IE tune
    AWE catback exhaust
    USP highflow cat
    INJEN SRI
    I'm thinking I'd make like 190-200 whp with the low ambient temps (75-83) and low miles. + idk if you're the mk5 07k 2.5l that's 150hp stock or the mk6 170hp.

    Excellent! After reading comments it’s amazing (and almost guaranteed) people still can’t figure out WHP vs BHP!!
    Can you share how you did the electric power steering to get the SRI in there? What’s the cost and complexity! Thanks bro sweet whip!

      a Mk5 jetta/golf electric rack literally bolts into the same place as the stock hydraulic rack. The fun bit is wiring it up. Using the harness that comes with the rack, I used a sub amp wiring kit to supply the rack with an 80a fused power from the battery. The CAN communications harness needed terminal 15 (key on power), ground, CAN high and CAN low. Used an empty spot in the interior fuse box for power, and tapped into the CAN signal on the ECU harness for that. Enable the module in VCDS in the CAN Gateway menu and you should be golden.

      Hey, Bryan how complicated of a swap was that? I currently have an automatic. tisk

    • @Moore91
      @Moore91  5 років тому +3

      The swap was pretty straight forward, just swapping parts. Flywheel, clutch, clutch slave cylinder, starter, trans, trans mount and axles. The only thing I had to do was shave part of the bell housing to clear the timing cover.
      Coming from auto would be a bit more involved since you'd need to add the clutch pedal and shifter assembly. Not sure what that would take.

    • @Moore91
      @Moore91  5 років тому

      I did a swap to electric power steering, I've done a brief write up on it here, and a more detailed one on the VW 2.5l facebook page. After that, you only need the MK5 accessory bracket, or to trim the existing MK6 bracket to get the manifold to fit.

    • @Moore91

      This was with roughly 160 degree intake temps it was pulling a lot of timing due to being heat soaked. If you look in the video my intake was just a filter on the throttle body, sucking in a lot of hot air from the radiator.
