Well your attention to detail and the pride you take in making these videos really Shows and we all Appreciate, SO thanx again Bruce on another genuine premium review. Cheers
Been looking for a nice clean diver for a while. Just purchased this bad boy, my decision mostly on your review! Watch arriving tomorrow, can't wait...keep it up. Cheers
Great review Bruce! Thanks and keep it up, a WIS like me always appreciates it! There are many features to like here while the dial design brings a lot of ire from the community, it is kind of growing on me. Initial reaction was always "that's strange" to the logo at 9, now I have started to see it differently: the CWard text and the date brings symmetry as it balances each other and the indices are actually equal in length which is not the case for a lot of dials with the date at 3. The embossed logo up top helps fill the space just below the 12 indice, I do see this being better than having only empty space there. I can see why they did it like this and now no longer see this as being a deal breaker which is great because there are so many other things that this new C60 is getting right - tool-less micro-adjust, improved lume, lumed bezel, case design, polished/brushed indices/hands, 38mm sizing, and finally the 60/60 return / warranty at a very reasonable price.
Hi Bruce, your review of the T I Elite has me seriously considering ordering one. This is a well deserved gift/recognition from CW of the quality of your content.
Loving their new releases Bruce. I was hanging out for a 40mm too 👍 shame they only offer the black as the blue looks great too but this model looks the business. Cheers.
Great review, as usual! And the watch itself...I really like this offering from CW. Somebody already mentioned their often logo changing and I agree that it is kind of sore point of this up-and-coming brand. If it weren't that tiny complaint, I would find this C60 Tridend almost flawless in both design and the execution. Still, beautiful watch, very balanced design, slightly reminiscent of the older Omega Seamasters, but in a no-way direct homage, good movements, good materials, good specs...and above all - GREAT price! Thumbs up from me!
Great review. Surprised CW haven’t released the 40mm in all the colours as the 38 and 42mm. As you said in the review the 40mm is the ‘sweet spot’ and would expect it to out sell the 38 and 42 options. Perhaps they will release other 40mm’s later.
The name on the left side yes different, but with thought. The height is about equal to the height of the date window. Date on right the name on left equals symmetry. Ghost logo on top equals very little distractions about the six o'clock marker. Again thought and symmetry.
Lots of things to like about these new Trident's from CW. They look sort of luxury for a dive watch. Great Depth rating. I think this watch could go from deep diving to desk diving without a problem.
WoW man your ATTENTION TO DETAIL is impeccable. At 4:50 you managed to put trident logo right in the middle of hour hand. WOW (Unless it was a mistake 😁)
I have the 38mm Vintage Trident C600 and absolutely love it! 40mm is a great size on my 6.5 inch wrist, so if i ever decide to sell my 38mm diver i might consider the 40mm (I am guessing by that time CW may have gone through few more logo iterations!!)
Bruce, your video quality is just so far above everyone else. Your camera setup is on fire. Here's the proof. I have absolutely no interest in this watch. I saw probably the five or six other videos on it this week and none of them changed my mind. But your video has got me thinking. You made this watch look so good on camera. I will still never get one, but props on the great video.
Great review like as usual, just need to know few details about this watch. Price ?, movement ?, is lume better than seiko & finally my wrist size 6 ¼ so it will be perfect for me.
hi Bruce! thank you for your reviews they are always amazing! I am thinking of buying the CW Trident but I am tremendously undecided about the size ... you say 40mm would be perfect but also for my 6.5 inch wrist? don't you think it is better the 38mm? thanks again!
Great review, BW. Bloody hell. Tempted by (another) 600 pro CW. A 38mm is absolutely my sweet spot on a 7" wrist. Their finishing is first class, movements are Ronseal and VFM is unquestionable. 42mm, 40mm & 38mm options available. This MkIII has a nicer bracelet, lume, handset, face, date window, bezel action and case back. Can I send my MkII 38mm for a makeover??!?
good review..I like this better than the emerald green TAGs Aquaracer and less money. Would u say compared to the ORIS and the TAG this watch out performs those in quality?
Great overview of the watch. Now they have blue and black 40mm version too. Do you know where to get discount code ? What is lug to lug measurement if you include that bracelet center link parts ?
If they had an applied double cross CW logo in the same finish as the indexes and NO “Christopher Ward” by the 9 o’clock I would buy this watch right now.
I like it. These hands look better than their old hands design. CW makes some awesome watches, check their Pilot line with in-house movement, it is really breathtaking and refreshing design. The only negative is their name written on the dial. The old one was bad, the new one is worse. I hope in the future they will only put their graphic logo up top, it would class up all their watches.
@@BruceWilliams Of course it isn't that huge of a deal, I still like their watches a lot, but just imagine this watch with only the graphic logo where it is now except in applied high quality polish, and no text on the 9 o'clock. Wouldn't it look awesome ?
Bruce Williams Hey Bruce, I totally agree. If you look, at 38 mm, you lose a lot of that dial symmetry. It would be a pass for me. I think 40 and 42 is where it's at.
Nice to see the 40mm size, this is definitely what I would go for. Just can’t help but feel like the hour hand is just not quite right, seems a little small/thin to me. Also, the blank space at 12 looks off, especially when you flashed your Rolex dial by comparison. I think the flag logo in white (which I saw a prototype with) would help balance it out. Also putting the depth rating in white, since there is no other red on this watch, would be nice. I don’t mind the name at 9 as it balances nicely with the date window, but the blank space up top almost gives it a sterile look.
Hey Bruce. Loved both your videos on the new c60’s. I already know I’ll be getting one but I’m finding it hard to decide.... not a bad problem to have. 😂. A have similar wrist size to yourself and just wanted to know how you think the new 40mm wares compared to the new 42mm size. Thanks in advance 🙌🏻
Hey Ross, I love a well made big watch. But only with brands that really make it thier bread and butter like Breitling or Seiko. With something like this I prefered the 40 over the 42, it still has nice presence but feels more refined. The 42 is not uncomfortable but I just liked the 40 more and I think you would too
Bruce Williams thanks again Bruce for your feedback. I too am a massive seiko fan and there do big watches so well. But as soon as I saw the 40mm in the new c60 having owed a c60 GMT at 43mm I though “home run” I think that could be the one. Cheers for the help my man🙌🏻
It’s a sweet little watch . I hear people complaining about using the selita 200 movement . This is a 700 pound watch what are they expecting ?.This is the same movement that is the choice of the big Swiss companies who charge 2000 pounds plus and in my experience a very good movement, I would generally choose it over ETA as it’s newer .mine is running 1.5 secs per day fast , so outstanding.. Remember the oris Aquis retails for 1560 pounds so there is a huge price differencal. Just undertook a side by side comparison and it’s prob too close to call.
In cad $ this watch is about 1300$ and the aquis is about 2800 to 3300 $ with the same deviations rate. I love Oris but do you have for the price a way better finish ?
Mathieu Vaillancourt short answer: no, Oris hasn’t. I guess the build quality of an Oris Divers 65 (retailing at $2200) is equal to this CW. Would an Oris be worth more than the CW? Sure, like up to $500 premium would be reasonable. However, the fact that you are paying $1300 extra for the Oris (over the CW) just shows that CW is a much better value proposition.
Thank you for your well-done review of this versatile dressy diver. I love everything about it except for two nits. The first is the brand name at the 9 o'clock position. It looks like there's a different symbol/logo at the 12 o'clock position that's faded. They should have just made that symbol/logo more visible and removed the name altogether at the 9 o'clock position. The second is the 600 meter water resistance. Considering the world record for the deepest dive with scuba gear is about 300 meters, the 600 meter water resistance is complete overkill and makes the watch unnecessarily thick. C Ward could slim it down somewhat by keeping the water resistance at 300 meters (100 meters would actually be more than anyone would ever need). That said it's the brand name at 9 o'clock that's the deal killer for me.
Haven’t had a chance to handle one myself yet. But based on multiple reviews, improved bezel quality is one of the notable features of the M3. Meanwhile, the quality of bezel action has been the biggest disappointment of my Oris Aquis. If I decide to bite the bullet on an M3, improved bezel over the Aquis would be one of the major reasons for buying in.
Appreciate this is now the previous model but case diameter comment applies. I wouldn’t agree that the 40 is the sweet spot. My view on this would be go for the 42 if considering the 40. The 40 is a scaled down version of the 42 but the bracelet is not tapered like it’s is in the 42 and doesn’t look as good. Just my opinion
Not a huge fan of the hour hand and the minute hand. Got my trident 316l with black dial and yellow second hand last week and I'm so in love with it. Second gen design is better imo. Do wish it had the subtle logo at 12 o'clock position though.
As my first watch I want to get myself this one. But I’m not sure if I want to get the 40 mm one or 42 mm. My wrist size is 6.8 (173mm). Because I’m still 14 my wrist would still grow. Thanks!
@@BruceWilliams thanks I was thinking that at this price they would regulated them at least. For the same price I bought for an everyday watch a nomos club campus with a movement regulated a six position. Love the watch but I'm slowly starting to look for a diver for outdoor activities and to wear it in the ocean in vacation. Any ideas ? 36-40 mm is my sweet spot :)
Hi Bruce I’m about to turn 18 and I am looking for a versatile and long lasting everyday watch for my birthday. I have a budget of around 2000€ and really like the bb 36 and the speedmaster reduced, though I tend towards the bb36 due to the high servicing costs of the reduced. What do you think of these watches and are they any others you would recommend ?
I own an Ocean Star. It's a little similar, with the square(ish) indices & the ratcheting extension...the Ocean Star is 42mm, though. Ocean Star has day/date complication. No ceramic bezel on the Ocean Star. I don't know whether I think the Ocean Star or the Trident is a better watch.
I'd like your professional opinion, I was offered by a private seller to trade my brand new christopher ward trident with full set and warranty with his 2015 omega seamaster 300 co- axiel the ceramic bezel version, the second gen. I know it sounds dodgy I thought the same, but the watch is legit with cards and paperwork, the thing is that it is still a 5 year old watch I dont wanna buy a watch and start spending on service on the get go. Is it a worth trading?
I have the same issue with this watch as the Oris, choosing the Sellita movement rather than the ETA. Nice looking watch but won’t purchase until they change the movement.
@@dorningarts I'm okay with selitta at 900 but it better be more than the base movement with a 40 sec acceptable daily deviation window. That is Seiko level at Oris pricing. I would be happy with a regulated 200-1 or a 2824-2
@@BruceWilliams Yeah you are right, 40 sec deviation is to much.. Other then that do you find these equal to an ETA 2824? (assuming they are both regulated)
they got rid of the unique wave dial, the unique hands, the cool logo, and placed it on the left hand side with the most generic font possible. the previous iteration with the centered logo was actually unique, this is doodoo
@Bruce Williams write "Christopher ward c60 2019" in the youtube search and you will see haha. Videos are like few days apart about the same watch. What a coincidence. Anyway it's a quality brand and I guess it's fine - they need to raise some awareness. Although the price point is the thing that has to be discussed here, and what is the overall market within a particular price range.
they've actually given an answer for this... apparently it's a "left-of-centre" brand hence the logo.. and makes sense really replacing something they view as 'stuffy' with 'woke' nonsense
Just what I came here to say. Their logo at 12 is fantastic!! Love the symmetry and the origin... but man... why does the name have to be everywhere to ruin the clean looks?!
In my opinion a 38mm diver is too small unless your wrist is sub 6.5. I have a 6.5 wrist, and bought the 38mm Trident, but sold it for a few reasons (logo, hated the wave dial), the size being one, just looked wrong to me, and I do not like large watches, 39-40 is the sweet spot, in my opinion :)
@@Yt-gc9us In my opinion 40mm for sure, it is the perfect size for your wrist, but keep in mind I really dislike the big watch thing, I love classic sizing
I actually kinda like the logo, yes it's odd, but you immediately see it's a CW!
I prefer the new logo

BB36 would be an awesome pick up I would def go for that one on a bracelet. You can always get nice aftermarket straps for it later
Bruce Williams thank you for your quick and helpful response !
Just his 2 initials on the face rather than the full name will add class
I always feel a company cheats out if they skip out on a dramatic tappper on the bracelet.
Why so empty dial????
Go for the logo instead of the name and get rid of the Trident on the sweep hand and I'll buy two.
Was going to buy the 40mm gmt once it’s released but that’s the only one size missing. Frustrated. Considering other brands.
Anyone who thinks this one is reminiscent of Mido Ocean star diver?
I own an Ocean Star. It's a little similar, with the square(ish) indices & the ratcheting extension...the Ocean Star is 42mm, though. Ocean Star has day/date complication. No ceramic bezel on the Ocean Star. I don't know whether I think the Ocean Star or the Trident is a better watch.
What does Includes paid promotion mean?
Watch my latest video I talk about it. For this instance it means I got a free watch from C Ward in exchange for this presentation
1.53 enamel dial?
The Rolex has one. The C Ward is polished only
very nice watch, but that name on the dial...ugghh.
totally agree. cheapens the whole watch. also the price is outrageous
Definitely seems dodgy. Why wud they trade a watch of that value for a watch you can pick up new quite cheaply.
No, up to 20 seconds off per day, at the outside of the spec window, not 40
I have the same issue with this watch as the Oris, choosing the Sellita movement rather than the ETA. Nice looking watch but won’t purchase until they change the movement.
E Larson with Swatch restricting ETA movement to their own brands, I doubt that will happen.
What's the issue with Sellita vs ETA? I have owned several of each and the Sellita has always been more accurate.
Jon I only have one Swiss Watch and it is with a Selitta and it is damn accurate
For some reason it seems there is some planet ocean cues
The logo placement doesn't bother me. I actually kind of dig it.
Really like the aestethics, but a Sellita movement? It's almost a $1000 watch...
Yeah that is a bit disappointing
Still tempted to get one even with the Sellita.
Curious, what movement should it have at this price point?
Oh wow, Christopher Ward really pushing this via UA-camrs
I know of one other channel who got one. How many others lol?
@Bruce Williams write "Christopher ward c60 2019" in the youtube search and you will see haha. Videos are like few days apart about the same watch. What a coincidence. Anyway it's a quality brand and I guess it's fine - they need to raise some awareness. Although the price point is the thing that has to be discussed here, and what is the overall market within a particular price range.
Loose the name at 9 position.
Why does Archie hate this watch😁😁
Why does anybody care what Archie hates?
Archie is not important.
He hates anything that isn't Rolex at the moment...and any youtuber that isn't in his clique
That Christopher Ward logo is awful. Please change this so i can buy one.
If you receive something for free, this is a sponsored video and MUST be labeled as such. If you're in the US, its illegal not to
If they just colored their logo in white and removed that stupid Christopher ward text...I would actually consider this
they've actually given an answer for this... apparently it's a "left-of-centre" brand hence the logo.. and makes sense really replacing something they view as 'stuffy' with 'woke' nonsense
Totally after with you. This text just annoys me. I wouldn't be able to wear it specifically because of that, my OCD will kill me :)
Just what I came here to say. Their logo at 12 is fantastic!! Love the symmetry and the origin... but man... why does the name have to be everywhere to ruin the clean looks?!
@@gabrielgarza676 because leftism.
@@FadeToBlack888 sorry what doss that mean? Regards
Shame about the logo. It's an eyesore.
His watches all look the same and they are super busy
Nope... 38 was better for your wrist
I've owned the 38 in the gen 2. I much prefer the 40mm gen 3
Which size would you recommend for me? My wrist size is 6.8 inches (173mm) and I’m deciding between the 40mm or 42mm. Thanks
@@Yt-gc9us In my opinion 40mm for sure, it is the perfect size for your wrist, but keep in mind I really dislike the big watch thing, I love classic sizing
GLD Edmond ok thanks but do you think in the next couple years it will still for me or will be too small? 1000€ is a lot so I’m thinking long term.
Sucks they fucked the bracelet and the wider brushed centerlinks look shit compared to the polished centerlinks of past
Oris > Christopher Ward
