Rules for my run:
- If you take any damage the run is over
- You must play on the hardest difficulty "Dante Must Die"
- The Mission-End-Screen has to show you a "SSS" in every mission
- You are not allowed to use items
- Taking environmental damage is not allowed (all damage is avoidable through the entire run)
- You are not allowed to pause the game during combat
- Closing the game or restarting a mission is not allowed
GAME MODIFICATIONS:
- #1 "colored"- enemy-types get damage from all weapons like in the Definitive Edition
IN RETURN:
- #2 "colored"- enemy-types are less likely to get staggered if not attacked by their corresp. color
- #3 "colored"- enemy-types receive 30% less damage if not attacked by their corresponding color
- #4 ALL NON-BOSS enemies receive 20% less damage unless your style-rank is S or higher
There is a big reason why Ninja Theory developed the Definitive Edition with very similar changes. Sadly I was not able to copy-cat everything to 100%. Personally I like my changes a little bit more, because they allow an even more fluent gameplay (which was the main reason for the Definitive Edition changes).
Many people might say that the game got easier with change #1 and that it simplifies this challenge. This is a good point, but on the other hand I restricted my rules to make it more difficult and I also made moderate changes to all enemies to offset modification #1. And do not forget the improved evades in the Definitive Edition (more frames on Demon-Evade + 1 more Angel-Evade-Dash with more i-frames), which makes the Definitive Edition a lot easier.
The Definitive Edition comes with "Gods Must Die" as the hardest difficulty where enemies spawn instantly in Devil-Trigger but on the other hand enemy waves are mixed up again to a lot easier combinations. I find it personally easier on Gods Must Die due to the Evade-Changes + the easier enemy waves/combinations.

Wait a minute at 3:19 in the Vault mission how come you dont have enemies spawning in the middle room after Activating statue instead you go to next room. How The......???? Please explain this to me😲
Every activation of a statue did trigger enemies. I do not understand what exactly you are referring to then.
You posted "3:19" which links to 3 Minutes and 19 Seconds (this cannot be the time you meant to post).

@@TheLastOneXO at 3h 13m and 5sec you activate statue and then when finish slicing enemies you go for another and dont have Any enemies in middle area with all status. Now can you tell me is that a glitch or on Dante Must Die they dont appear Often cause i played on DMD and i had bunch of them.
I watched a couple of No Damage videos and this is how it usually goes. Maybe it is a game version thing or DMD after all - not sure.

The level design, music & visual style of this game is something I miss and I hope future DMC titles will pull from it. So many gems in this game and it definitely isn't the total blunder it's been memed into being.
Hope i don’t come off as bashing your opinion but human characters are really poorly designed. Devil triggers just color swaps your hair color and turns the screen B&W. Weapon designs are god-awful, i’m sorry if you think otherwise, the actual combat system, while “unique”, it pales in comparison to the og series. But yes soundtrack was hype af and level AESTHETICS (not layout) were really nice with the “reality shattering” theme. But that’s all i can say about this game. When it came out, i would often find myself choosing Bayonetta 1 over it most of the time.
@@nameputhpong9041 Yeah the melee weapons of Dante are new and weird and adding the OG weapons instead of those new weapons would've been so much better. But it's just a soft reboot

Nothing is wrong with the character tho, he was a great Dante, younger.. more pretentious.. they achieved what they wanted and so called fans hated change.. sad. Ninja theory did great work, wish this reboot would have gotten a sequel..
@@rietzhu Exactly. What’s even shittier is that the fans never even stopped to consider the fact that this Dante was going to evolve into the one everybody knew. By the end of the game he has his white hair and red jacket back, and the “not in a million years” joke was obviously supposed to be ironic, because that would end up being his hair style in future installments. DMC fans just couldn’t accept something new.

I just finished DMC 5 cuz I hadn't a good pc. And I think the same. I feel that DMC 5 was a game made for x box and then they "ported" very badly to PC, even the tutorial was showing commands of a x box controller and not keybord, that pissed me off, I bought a game for PC not x box. DmC is much more intuitive and better to make combos, dodge and change weapons.
The only Devil May Cry game where Dante has playable and good "Drive" move, lol

10:23 When I got here on that same difficulty the boss froze before making an attack, I was able to take away most of his life, just 3 hits to kill him when he started moving

Just passed this game didn’t die once by an enemy more used heal items. Is hardcore mode easier ? The only part that’s super hard and I kept dying was the platforms

I enjoyed the combat in this game. All I wanted to do is sick combos and I did that. 😊
One complaint I've never understood about the reboot is that it's too easy. Yeah, it's not the "bend you over backwards and make you call it daddy" like DMC 3, nor is it as complex as DMC 4, but this game still kicked my ass. The way hardcore fans talk about it you'd think it was as insufferably dull as DMC 2 was.

HOw is it that the player in this video is able to fight the Hell knights/Frost knights with the regular sword as well as use Angel weapons on hell knights and demon weapons on frost knight? In my game thye automatically "Counter" my weapon if it is not the right one.

Or maybe your playing the original version ps3 xbox 360 that's how it was first made colorsponding but the definition version disabled thoes play style now you can hit hell knights and frost knights with any weapon like you said you hit them with different weapons and it bounces right off of them maybe you playing the original version

I remember I used to play this game on my old pc but wasn't able to do demon or angel evade..
Like I pressed Q+SHIFT and E+SHIFT still he couldn't do those evades...
Did you had same experience....is it fixed in definitive edition?
With a controller it was holding L2 + R1 and R2 + L1 for the evades - quiet comfortable if you ask me ^^ .

How is it possible to hit devil/angel type enemies with another weapons? I can only attack to frozen knight with Angel weapons. Weird.

If your talking about Vergil fighting Vergil then u have to use summoned swords a lot but sometimes spiral swords for damage and yeah that’s it

It is not "hate" - it is "passion" about the franchise they love. Adjusting to changes always feels difficult I guess ^^.

Well this is a different timeline overall, intentionally a change in the character. Also the "youngest" version of Dante in all Devil May Cry history. You may agree that there is a big difference in an adult man and his former self as a teenager ^^.

I want to improve but I can't consistently play with so many other games I want to play.
I've beaten DmC Definitive Edition on Nephilim and have gone back on easier difficulties and got all the collectibles. My rankings on Nephilim aren't the best mostly C's and B's. Should I improve my rankings on Nephilim or move up Son of Sparda as the game has achievements for beating SOS and DMD
I had pretty big breaks to be honest. But it did not take much time to go back into them.
If you want to improve - just an idea what workes for me - go on the highest difficulty right away and try to learn all enemy behaviors and be able to outplay those. Then go to learn efficent combos without high commitment.

@@TheLastOneXO cheers man I'll keep practicing. What set up do you have to be able to angel evade? I've had to change my controller layout as the default made you hold RT and hit RB to angel evade which I cannot do
I used default settings - since it works quiet well with the "cross over" ANGLE/DEMON mode + double evade buttons L1/R1.
If you ever asked yourself why are there 2 evade buttons which do exactly the same - well here you go ^^.
In your case you hold RT and evade with LB for ANGEL-EVADE and hold LT and evade with RB for DEMON-EVADE.

Nothing else is modded. I set everything on the highest option and I played on 1440p.
4K recording is through Supersampling.

Yes, "Son of Sparda" is "HARD".
"Dante Must Die" is the highest difficulty in all DMC games. It is like 300% more monster-life and they will gain Devil-Trigger. 400% more enemy-damage!
On "Hell and Hell" you may die in 1 hit, but the enemies stay on "Son of Sparda" difficulty.
These levels are unlocked after you complete the game I think bcoz red enemies get defeated by eryx and arbiter and blue enemies by equila Osiris 😂😁
I don't care what people think about this game, the gameplay acted the same way as the other DMC games not that it didn't have slight differences, it had the same crazy combo combat roots.
That being said, you can hate the story all you want but how can you say that the gameplay was bad? It wasn't as hard as the games from the actual continuity, sure, but it can still kick your ass badly. In fact, it was harder than DMC2, DMC2 was the easiest game in the series, at least for me it was.

"Hell and Hell" is that you die in 1 hit and the enemies are at "Son of Sparda" difficulty.
Playing this on "Dante Must Die" without taking a single hit - is well over "Hell and Hell" difficulty.
