Devil May Cry DMD 100% Speedrun World Record |

- This is the Speedrun World Record for Devil May Cry on the Dante Must Die Difficulty with the normal Dante Costume and 100% completion. 100% means all S ranks, all Secret Missions, all blue orbs, and all shop items. This is the first ever sub 1:25, the previous world record was the first ever deathless run of its kind by slickford. This run is over 8 minutes faster than that due to new strategies and better execution. This is my proudest speedrun accomplishment yet. Its deathless, with no save and quit glitch, no grinding, and no IGT abuse. I dont think this run will be bested anytime soon, now that i have this its time to take any% and low% for DMD, so that i can have all 4 DMD world records

this record was a long time coming, congrats man! so glad i came along for the ride
NGL, this was impressive. And it would have been a very fun video to watch, except the few cringe parts where he just lost his s*** over getting hit or making a mistake. Like those plasma bats he could have just went into where the screen had them. A few of those mistakes could have been avoided, not that I could have done any better on a one run, but to blame the game every time and call this game Trash and garbage and dog s*** every time you get hit is a b**** move. Js this game was made in what year 2000? The camera and designs and targeting might not be exactly perfect, but this is overall an awesome, unique, dark Legendary Classic of a game! In my opinion it's much better than the other DMC games for atmosphere and characters, gameplay, and story being not too cheesy but just epic enough. It's my favorite Devil May Cry game and I don't think anybody here could design a better game.

You're partially wrong about devs not expecting games to be played at a high level. Plenty of devs know and expect their games to be played like that. The thing is, even when expecting it, there's no way for a company and a small group of playtesters to catch every possible exploit or trick that will be discovered by the masses over years of effort. It's actually just impossible to account for everything. Games like Devil May Cry were 100% expected to have players push themselves and the game, hence the style points, score system and mission timer. With that being said, yea the RNG in secret missions is absolutely bullshit lol. Keep up the grind bro! ❤
While I do agree to some degree, there are things like m7 special bonus being impossible to special bonus that makes me think they just didn’t care.

After all this time grinding DMC1 there you are holder of the WR in the 100% categorie on DMD with classic Dante.
Even if the RNG tried to screw you at some points you always figured a way out of it.

Dude everyone agrees the Elden Ring attacks with the extra delay (of which there's a LOT) are only there to catch people out on their visual instincts, these kinds of attacks were much more rare in the earlier souls games.

WaifuRuns, can you answer me some questions about this game? I'd really appreciate it! (Ranging from important to trivial questions)
1. When I select an Enemy File (e.g. Marionette) it says "4/7" on the bottom right. What does that mean?
2. If someone were to start from a clean dmc1 file (a file so empty that no slot had ever been filled before), unlocked Easy Auto, then decided to start a NG and play their very first completed playthrough on Easy Auto, would they unlock hard mode? I've read that playing on Easy means subsequent NG+ runs on that file are also on easy, but even if that's true, you might still unlock Hard mode for NG.
3. Can Dante Must Die only be unlocked after beating the game once on Hard mode?
4. I've read that when you unlock Hard mode at the end of NG, your NG+ is forcibly put at Hard mode. Is that also the case for when you unlock DMD? In other words when u beat Hard mode does the game force u into DMD NG++?
5. Let's say you played NG on Normal, then Hard on NG+1, then DMD on NG+2. Would you then be able to play NG+3 on any difficulty, or is it stuck at DMD because that's what you'd selected at the beginning of NG+3?
6. In my savefile, it sats "Dante 00". What is "00" in reference to? Completed playthroughs? And would "Dante" say something else, like "LDK", if you'd selected a different outfit?
7. Can Easy mode be unlocked on Hard/DMD?
8. After first beating the game on DMD, assuming you get a choice of difficulty for your next run, can you choose easy (assuming it has been unlocked), and if you can, will that permanently turn that savefile easy with no way of going back?
9. Does playing a New Game on Hard unlock DMD, or is DMD only unlocked if you do that NG+ Hard run after NG Normal? Maybe it's a NG+ unlockable rsther than a Hard unloxkable and ppl dont know cuz they always do those together.
10. Let's say you already have all the difficulties unlocked, but you decide to start a new game on Normal. At the end of that playthrough, do you get the option to play NG+ in DMD (since this was unlocked on separate playthroughs), or does the game once again force you on NG+ Hard mode?

To be fair just as higher framerate will bring good things you can take advantage of it can also bring disadvantages, I wouldn't call a game broken or blame it's individual mechanics for something that's well known to cause issues with games in general

About what you say on M7 DMD, I actually got the SB. I did it back in 2009, so the only proof I got is a photo of the completion screen xD, as for every SB of my runs.
As you say, the only way to SB it is to get the time and orbs requirements, and to have luck with the secret mission. If you are within the time and orbs requirements, the secret mission should be able to counter the dmg you take from the item.
It also wasn't a lenient run, because I still remember I had to do M22 and 23 No Dmg, while on subsequent runs where I got the leniency, I was able to get the SB even if I took like a hit or 2 from Mundus.
EDIT: Forgot to add I did it on the PAL PS2 version. Don't know if it makes a difference.

@@heliax9924 Thanks. Back then, the DMC "scene" was located at the "phantombabies" forums. I learned everything I knew (now I've forgot almost everything lol) there. The DMC1 expert was an user named Joch. For my SBs I studied on his FAQ, which must still be around somewhere on the internet.

steam pc, hd collection, macro bound to right stick to shoot faster, same as button mashing but doesnt kill your hand, using ste3am big pitcure to bind the macro
