To the people complaining over this. This is a speedrun that's when said player goes through as quickly as possible and does so by the quickest way. And the fastest way is to spam jump cancelling.

jump cancelling, you can jump on the head of enemies to cancel your attack and attack again instantly.

@@1pyroace1 ok, so PS2/PS3/PS4 Jump hold R1 press triangle, then right as you hit the enemy's head, press X, rinse and repeat.
Xbox 360/Xbox one jump Hold RB, press Y then right as you hit the enemy's head, press A, rinse and repeat,
Nintendo Switch, Jump Hold R press triangle then right as you hit the enemy's head press X, rinse and repeat.
remember this requires practice, and it's an essential move if you wish to beat DMC3 on the higher difficulties.

@@1pyroace1 there are a lot of places that are good for training, but there's an area below the endless infernum jump down, and there's a bunch of enemies you have to kill to leave, and every time you jump down there the enemies will respawn, a more effective way in case you plan on playing multplayer is to use Doppelganger and have player 2 press start, now your teammate can practice the trick with you, this also works in bloody palace, recommended only for those who have beaten DMD in the special edition (PC/PS2) or HD (PS3/Xbox360/PC/PS4/XboxOne/Switch) version, in the original DMC3 (PS2 only) you have to just beat very hard

Hard mode was easy for me when it beat it with both Dante and Vergil. Very hard however i never attempted so im scared for that

have tried to beat DMD with vergil and i cannot beat the last mission. I really dont want to jump cancel to beat it but once you get him to 25% HP he keeps spamming the same shit.

@@badadamother8979 yellow makes it that if u die u have to use a yellow orb to continue and if u don't have that u're forced to start mission from the beginning . With gold u don't have to use the orb and can continue as many times as u want

Does Beowulf have the highest DPS?
Falling Star (or whatever it’s called), the dive kick move + jump cancel = Highest DPS for single target. The Yamato’s aerial slash is better for multi.

How do you start dmd without any upgrades?
Select new game in the title screen.
Have DMD unlocked on one of your saved games. On the original PS2 version, you could use the unlock all modes/costumes cheat as using it didn't disable saving back then.
If Dante unlocks it then it should be available for Vergil as well I believe

They aren't, he spam the jump cancel while use the spectral swords doing a lot of damage.
They aren't this is one of the hardest games in the series on this difficulty, unless you mastered jump cancelling and spam the shit out of it. It's very hard on Dante must die. As for why it looks easy it's because the player is a DMC3 motivated master.
DMC 3 on Dante must die Is honestly the hardest playthrough of devil may cry you can do and that's counting dmc5 too

@@AlynRapi I didn’t even realize. I just know I put hours into practicing jump cancels, mainly for Beowulf fight on DMD and I’m still no where near as fluent as this guy is and he’s using summoned swords at the same time. Just goes to show how much time and effort he put in.

If you're referring to the rapid air attacks with Yamato (the katana) or the constant dive kicks of Beowulf (the gauntlets) that is not a mod, it's a technique called Jump Canceling or JCing. Long story short; when you jump off of an enemy the game counts that as jumping off the ground, meaning any actions you can only perform once in the air, such as attacks, double jumps, teleports ect. get reset as if you'd landed and jumped again. By jumping off an enemy with correct timing (the "jump" part of jump canceling) the player can string together these extra damaging strings.
An easy way to see jump canceling in action for a new player to the skill is to perform Lunar Phase (With Beowulf equipped, lock on and press forward + attack) and while vergil is spinning but before the final slam, press jump while in contact with an enemy. Vergil will stop the attack short and perform a jump. This is JCing, just in the video it's done at a much faster speed with air attacks. It's all practice.
