i personally do everything out of my interface. But you can do it either way. As far as i can see it doesnt introduce any noticeable lag. So its kind of up to you of what you prefer.
ClarkeAfterDark404 i cant seem to manage to get it running properly, i tried both mic mode and no cable patch, either way is making terrible distorsion, overamplified, screeching of death etc.. however i do have a realtone cable, and i keep wondering if its possible to get the cable and 2i2 working toguether, or exploiting the cable to run rocksmith on the audio interface.
alex v someone else had this problem and it ended up being the buffer rate that the interface was set at. Try going into your windows sound settings and make sure it's set for 2channel 48000hz. But yes you should be able to do that. The best way I seen to change audio output is to start the game and while it is up tab out of the game. Go to windows sound setting... Disable and re enable your interface and set it for default audio device. Idk why rock Smith is such a pain with it. But that worked for me when I had issues.
So i managed to get it working with no cable patch v3, guitar directly plugged into the focusrite, but headphone is plugged into motherboard audio, working tone designer, but distortion seems overkill, otherwise didnt really notice any latency lag. ua-cam.com/video/7by4kwaznqU/v-deo.html
sounds like the gain may be a little high in the game. Instead of adjusting it on your interface if you go into the audio settings turn it down a little. If you adjust it at the interface there is a possibility of it not reading notes clearly. But if you turn it down in game it reacts alot smoother.

I discover and write this solution bro If anyone is getting stuck in the calibration part ( looks like your real tone cable is disconnected) The fix is check the sample rate of your audio interface should be 48 khz and 16 bits). You can check it on control panel sound double click in your audio interface then click advanced located at the top and should be 48 khz 16 bits) If your audio interface doesn't support 16 bits you can use the program virtual audio cable for windows to create a virtual line of 16 bits 48kHz with the program. Link of the program : m.ua-cam.com/video/t_jxomZ0BFU/v-deo.html After you installed it ( Run installer as a administrator) you need to go to the path you installed virtual audio cable and open as a administartor the one that says vcctlpan.exe, now to create the cable at the left you will see the option cables and put just one don't click Set yet. Now in the cable parameters put this information exactly as a say: SR: 22050 SR: 48000 BPS: 8 BPS:16 NC: 1 NC:2 Max inst: 20 Max pert int: 7 Stream fmt: cable range Volume control click it. Connected Sources lines: Select Line. Clock % : 100.00 Now click the button Set next to the number 1 that you put at the beginning and then you will see the cable created at the botton, now just do one click in the cable created at the bottom and click the buttom Set located in the Cable parameters in the middel. You are good with the cable now (close the program.) After that you need to go to control panel then click in sound. When sounds windows opens in the playback category put your real interface as a default device. Click in the recording section and put your virtual line as a default device, double click in the virtual line, click in the listen option at the top, click in (listen to this device) and in the option playback through this device you will select the name of your audio interface then click in apply and ok. For the next step in the recording section now double click in your real line (audio interface), click in the listen option at the top, click (listen to this device) and in the option that says playback through this device you will select the virtual line you created then click in apply and ok (before click apply check in advanced located at the top if says 48 khz 16 bits). Next click edditSettings.bat is a file of the NoCableLauncher.exe, when you open it deselect Steam and in the path section browse and select the RockSmith2014.exe should be where you installed the game. Next in player1 audio deselect Manual Vaules, where it says Device select the virtual line you created and that's everything now click save and close it. Now you can run as a administrator the NoCableLauncher.exe and play the game without problem.(Also always connect the guitar in the input one).

I have a focusrite 2i2, but i was wondering if it would be best to plug my headphone on my computer integrated soundcard or the headphone output on the focusrite?
i personally do everything out of my interface.
So i managed to get it working with no cable patch v3, guitar directly plugged into the focusrite, but headphone is plugged into motherboard audio, working tone designer, but distortion seems overkill, otherwise didnt really notice any latency lag.

sounds like the gain may be a little high in the game. Instead of adjusting it on your interface if you go into the audio settings turn it down a little. If you adjust it at the interface there is a possibility of it not reading notes clearly. But if you turn it down in game it reacts alot smoother.

I discover and write this solution bro
If anyone is getting stuck in the calibration part ( looks like your real tone cable is disconnected)
The fix is check the sample rate of your audio interface should be 48 khz and 16 bits). You can check it on control panel sound double click in your audio interface then click advanced located at the top and should be 48 khz 16 bits)
If your audio interface doesn't support 16 bits you can use the program virtual audio cable for windows to create a virtual line of 16 bits 48kHz with the program.
Link of the program : m.ua-cam.com/video/t_jxomZ0BFU/v-deo.html
After you installed it ( Run installer as a administrator) you need to go to the path you installed virtual audio cable and open as a administartor the one that says vcctlpan.exe, now to create the cable at the left you will see the option cables and put just one don't click Set yet.
Now in the cable parameters put this information exactly as a say:
SR: 22050 SR: 48000
BPS: 8 BPS:16
NC: 1 NC:2
Max inst: 20
Max pert int: 7
Stream fmt: cable range
Volume control click it.
Connected Sources lines: Select Line.
Clock % : 100.00
Now click the button Set next to the number 1 that you put at the beginning and then you will see the cable created at the botton, now just do one click in the cable created at the bottom and click the buttom Set located in the Cable parameters in the middel.
You are good with the cable now (close the program.)
After that you need to go to control panel then click in sound.

I even tried some other code files a guy made called RS_ASIO, but I'm still getting some solid lag that makes it impossible to play. Any other ideas?
@@ConModderz there should be a setting in Rocksmith to adjust audio lag
@@ClarkeAfterDark None of the game settings worked. I solved it for the most part though. Rocksmith doesn't like me using the audio interface as the input AND output device. I swapped the output to something else and it works "better" lol
thanks
The error I got was "Rocksmith has detected that your speakers or headphones are not properly configured, Please ensure your drivers are up to date and that your playback audio device supports 48Khz 16bit playback, if not your device may not be supported." I do happen to have a Scarlet interface though so I'll try this before giving up since nothing else seemed to work.
sounds like a sample rate issue. Set all your devices to the same sample rate as that of your audio device.
For Example: I have a scartlet 8i6 which has the sample rate of "16 bit @ 48000hz"
so you'd set your speakers to match the sample rate.
Goto: Control Panel-->Sound--->(Playback Tab) -->Properties-->Advanced-->
There will be a combobox allowing you to adjust your sample rate.
