just bought one off faesbok for £300. mot failure on emissions, headlight aiming too high. body and interior tidy. two bottles of catclean and no more smoke.
Fabulous cars, make sure cambelt and water pump get done, swirl flaps are an accident waiting to happen, as mentioned, rear shocks, sills crushed and or rusting from the inside, remove the ‘sandbags’, you need to remove the rear interior to access, do both front seats fold forward, are the door handles ok ? Good luck with it.
Easily mapped to around 180. The same engine is used in the GT Clover 170 with the Q2 LSD. On the forums some have even managed around 200, depending on the engine and turbo condition. Fun little cars these. Had a 170 version for a few years
Good luck. As a long time Alfa GT owner/addict I’ll find this series interesting. Loads of them have dented sills. Idiot tyre shop workers mostly. Double/triple check those rear shocks. The spring pan will be on its last legs if they haven’t been replaced. Otherwise doesn’t look too bad. Check the swirl flaps. That is the Achilles heel of these engines. They are on plastic mounts and can get sucked into the engine and wreck it. Cheap enough to delete them. Get a nice remap at the same time. These engines can give you a fair old hike in BHP and torque with no loss of reliability. Otherwise the diesels are robust. Cloverleaf is a really nice spec. You get used to the armrest/handbrake stuff and other character quirks. Wouldn’t bank on making much profit though. You’ll be able to do some big miles in it. How about a trip back to Italy?
Yeah turning a profit isn't number 1 on the list tbf, more the experiences. But I know we probably won't loose out on it too much. Thanks for the feedback, will check it all out. Would love to take it to Italy. Only problem is we both still have jobs 😄 so mainly doing this on the weekends and evenings.
Great cars lovely to drive bags of torque not the best car urban driving but on a good run brilliant give it some tlc and proper maintenance and you've got a proper drivers car had mine 5 yrs love it before it had a 156 sport wagon that was reliable and a great drivers car
Cheers Andy, the torque is amazing on this car. Really pulls low down. We've got some challenges lined up to really test out how well it does on long journeys. Love the 156 wagon 👌🏻
Add a Q2/Quaife LSD, compare before and after, should be able to add money to the car for re sale and see how much of a difference it makes if you can find a second hand one? Unless it has one already as some of these did from the factory.
I bought one last Friday, 2.0 jts, black leather seats, bose stereo. Paid €800 for it. Last sunday the engine threw a bearing and it needs a new engine right now 😆
You buttheads got a verry good car with minor flaws, comparing to other english junks out there. This car is has won the title "The most beautiful car in the world" at the Milan Triennial and the Design Trophy in Paris. Reliable engine, good stability, great confort and options for it's class at the time. And next time find a driver who can make a difference between a petrol and a diesel.
We didn’t get the diesel GTs here in Australia. My GT looks similar to this one but doesn’t have the dents, has a red interior and has six chrome intakes under the bonnet. It also cost me over 10 times more than this one did.
The driver side window doesn’t go up, and doesn’t go down - which means it’s not working 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Nah you don’t say … this guys narration is top tier

Good to know, bags of torque in them. We are undecided on a re mapping it yet. Just due to the cost and if it's worth it for the car.
I got my GT for £995. It's a 09 plate and has 96k miles on it, runs perfectly. MOT was done 2 days before I brought the car

That's gutting!! Luckily you didn't pay too much in the first place. Relativity speaking.
This car does not age
Owned about 40 cars I want a red alfa gt but I need to be braver
If you've got the means, why not... they are pretty reliable it seems.
@@Absolutecar well am in Spain so no rust but three times the price.
Great vid. As for challenges with the car…. Maybe see how many babies you can fit in it? I dunno. That’d be fun. I guess.

Hahah we have a lot of friends with baby's 😂
