GT 3.2's are the last Alfas with a Busso engine and they're not easy to find

Don’t forget it’s got a Q2 diff as well. Really hope someone wants to get her back up to scratch she’s worth it. 🤞🏻
Wow, you don't come across many cars these days that so clearly have been loved. I can imagine the person who had all that stuff done was gutted when their new paint started lacquer peeling and looking crap. A proper bargain find indeed.
When I bought my 1998 FIAT Coupé turbo in Norfolk (2003) I'd driven past it every day for at least a year before deciding that if it could move under its own power I'd buy it. I ended up changing everything on it like Trigger's broom, but it was worth it. So just take my money.
It's obviously been a much loved car, but sometimes the money you have to spend to keep it tip top just gets beyond reasonable. It needs somebody like you to return it to A1, and its not that far off being A1 condition. I believe it's a car worth preserving, but needs somebody with the resources and will to keep it that way. If I were a collector this is one I'd consider.
My two cents: just repair the rust on the sills and make it mechanically sound and let the new owner who will actually keep it deal with the paint. Unless you can do it yourself. I doubt that the value the repainting will add to the car will be more than the cost of the repainting itself. If saving it will make you even a bit of rofit it is definitely worth doing it and not stripping it for parts.
Has to be fixed, not many v6 around and all the good extras are already on it.Just needs a Q2 and Wizard manifolds😎 Cant believe you paid $1500 for it,absolute steal, for that price I could ship it to Australia and it would still be cheap!
Seems like it's worth saving to me. One day I'd like to own one of these but I don't think red is the best colour for this body shape. The rear styling is my favourite angle but I think that on red cars the tail lights blend in and loose their impact.
Given that that the floor looks solid, I would definitely repair it. I had one for many years and it was great fun. I often had passers by stopping to take a close look as these cars are so stylish. Fast car with great handling. Mine was eventually let down by the floor pan and a clutch that nobody seemed to be able to fix properly. Strange, but there you go. I think red and tan is one of the best combos.
Hi mate ... big fan of your channel and had a few Alfa’s including my current one a Brera ... which I adore Looking for a nice GT .. when done what are you looking at for this one ?
Neil deffo worth keeping, the GT was the last model to be fitted with the legendary Busso V6 🇮🇹🍀🏎️ I have had the pleasure having 2 GT's and still have my 2nd one, it's only the 1.8 Twin Spark, Monza II Edition, but absolutley love this car!. Sadly here in Dublin, Ireland, the 3.2 is very rare and searching for one has turned out to be fruitless, if you where here in Ireland, I'd happily buy it! But VRT and Shipping would be mad on it for me! Your a great mechanic Neil, keep up the good work, Iove your videos! 🇮🇹🍀🏎️💪
Well if I lived in the UK I would buy this from you after everything is fixed. I would switch out those coilovers though for KWs or stock GTA ones (if still available). Too many of these cars just spoilt by ridiculously stiff coilovers.
Yes alternator changes, 3.2 brera, in car alternator change, turned out to be a control cable to earth, discovered once the alternator was on the bench 😕
Someone will surely drop the ££ on this and be very happy indeed. If we were in 2022 I’d definitely be having a look, but not that long bought my current 916. Definitely worth saving. Hope to see more videos of this!
Save it, would love to get back in a Alfa gt, stupidly sold mine for a supercharged jag XF v8, it was fast and fun but no comparison to how good the Alfa drove for feel on the road!
Hi Neil, Too nice to break ,the GT is still a wonderful looking car and the Busso powered ones are becoming very sought after. The Floorpans and sills are in good condition for a 14 year old car and the jacking damage is an easy repair for yourself . Loved my GT 1.9 jtd but it had to go because of badly corroded sills and an awfully replaced quarter panel that wasn't even attached at the lower edge .
As an owner of a GT Busso One of only 232 currently running on UK roads. That's enough of a reason to keep her. As repairable, so she can become one of 233.
Way too good to break, save it Neil! After a respray and some mild repairs on that crushed sill it's easily worth 6k. The 3.2s are starting to climb in value now. Wish I never sold mine.
Just bought a alpha mito cloverleaf love you channel very good info on alpha any idea on where to get a leather interior for my car ie alpha breakers. Are the front seat interchangeable between models or not thanks paul
Love it! Got a 2004 Azuro Nuvola w/black leather. It's a keeper and a romance for life! We drive on the other side of the road (Holland) so this one's not for me....
With these mods , i would use it for a partscar. These mods are really easy to sell. A modified car is less easy to sell, a stocker would be more desired. (Yet i only have experience in the dutch market)
@@ItaliaAutos especially the coilovers. The dampers are made by KW one of the best brands out there, and they are stainless steel. I would love to see you spice up the gta with the parts!
Due to the relatively low mileage, and colour combo, I can see a dealer asking £10k for that. Absolute saver that. Shame the first owner chose Alfa red otherwise, potentially with another colour it would've survived a lot better. With all those upgrades it probably handles and brakes superbly as well 😀
Was thinking about getting one of these or a GTV but the more I learn about them, the more of a pain they seem. Think I'll stick with old mercs, very easy to look after.
The cost when the power steering failed was what made me get rid of mine - nor as simple as replacing a coupling or-a hose - whole unit needed replacing and a full drop of the engine required to do it - had a mate in the trade who did at cost but was still £700+ over 12 years ago. Shame , beautiful car to drive but enjoyed the Nissan 350Z I swapped it for!
You wouldn’t happen to have a full tan interior for one of these would you? Looking at getting one to replace my giulietta that was written off and I just know I’m going miss the tan interior it had
Arguably a Q2 or a Quaife LSD is the best upgrade you can do to a GT. Apart from the dramatic improvement on the handling, the standard diff is prone to blow a hole through the gearbox.
I really enjoy these videos. It's nice to get a view from underneath the cars, especially for potential buyers looking for an honest deal. How hard is it to fit that eibach anti roll kit? I'm very interested in installing one on my gt but I believe the subframe needs to be dropped.
Oh my God....I so want that car... I have the 1.8 GT and it's a fantastic car going around corners... I'm definitely going to keep an eye on this one... I'm very interested. I've always wanted the v6.
Hi Neil. I live abroad and can't afford to buy this beauty, but I would like to make a proposal: Do everything, I mean everything, it takes to make this Gtv Busso as good as new - in pristine condition- and after the job is done, then sell it at an auction and ask for a descent price. Show us the job you will have done, spare us the costs or give us the costs of the parts you have paid and that's all, dude! Now, in case you wish, we (the audience) may vote for the stages of the work you do (electrics, mechanical, respraying etc) and we are all happy. Win-win, dude! In this way, we become potential buyers, and at the same time, we watch the rebirth of a motorsport jewel... Best regards, Chris!
Looks like someone has had a lot of enjoyment out of this car. Good upgrades, lowish mileage, decent history. If the body/paint can be put right this could be worth a lot more than you put into it in a few years. Already rare as hen's teeth and last one I was thinking about was north of 10K. Gotta be done Neil.
Unfortunately I am not in the UK, but otherwise I'd be interested for sure. I live in Sweden and there's not an abundance of Busso engines Alfas here. I really hope you sort it out rather than break it.
I've had 33's 155 with speed line wheels until someone wrote it, then GT jts, I would be very interested if up for sell, how's the gear box shifting etc? Shane.
I got a 2004 GT 3.2 about 10 years ago, to use as my weekender. Well maintained, full history; it looked like a good car. I soon found out it had been personally cursed by Satan himself. It's no exaggeration to say that every time I got in it, something would go wrong. Door handles came off in my hand. External temp sensor failed. Oil pressure warning failed. Brake bulb warning went on/off/on/off/on/off depending on how the car felt. The windscreen de-bonded from the body. The passenger window operation was a lottery; would it or wouldn't it? Add in the kind of oil use that required a litre every 800kms, I kept it 6 weeks and had enough. To be fair, that is the only unreliable Alfa I've ever had. But it definitely did its best to pander to the stereotype.
What sort of price would you be looking for with the alternator and belts, oil leaks done? Paint and wheels would not need sorted for me to look at buying. Cheers 👍
I bought one of these new back in 06 for 26K UK pounds. Was a nightmare, almost every electric bit of the car broke within 3 month and I gave the dealer the car back. Such a shame cos it was extremely good to drive, much nicer/faster than a golf Gti MkV or Mazda RX8.
Great car. I owned three of these: a 1.9jtd, a 3.2, and then an Autodelta Super. Huge regrets on that last one, it turns out trees are sturdier than Italian steel. I think I recognise this car from the alfaowners forums: the owner at the time posted about their yellow callipers and got a fair amount of flack for it. You might be able to find some history having a dig around on those forums, although it would have been nearly a decade ago now. The sad thing is, they aren't worth a huge amount even in pristine spec and condition so it is difficult to argue that one as rough around the edges as this one is worth saving.. All that said, I wish I had space for it, I'd be giving you a call.
Alfa’s are fabulous, stylish great driving cars-but total money pits. Like Clarkson says everyone should own at least one Alfa before they die. I loved my 146ti!
Please, someone step up to the plate and take on this project. Its the perfect Busso GT; all that needs to be done now is to dot the i's and cross the t's and you will have a Ferrariesque Alfa. If you are worried about cost, you could do everything except the paint job for now - and then save for that to be done in two years time.
Hi. I'm not sure if you have any other 3.2 parts laying around... My uncle is looking to buy an ECU. I know you usually sell it from the Ignition all the way to the ECU. We're in South Africa and it's getting difficult to buy here. I don't always trust the online buying. Would like your input and maybe you can sell us one?
Don't break it, please. GT's are getting scarce and the V6 is the only one that is appreciating at the moment, I've heard of someone who has 4 of them for this reason. If you can afford the time/money restore it, if not pass it on to someone who can, but don't break it!!
You are a true gentleman, for saving all those beautiful Alfas and Fiats.

How hard is it to fit that eibach anti roll kit? I'm very interested in installing one on my gt but I believe the subframe needs to be dropped.
Glad you enjoyed it! its a bit of a faff if im honest.
@@ItaliaAutos i think that makes it even more valuable as an upgrade
Lovely Jubbly, shame about the dodgy respray, apart from that looks like one to keep on the road.
Definitely worth keeping, the upgrades alone would attract a keen buyer of the model.
tune in next time lol
Would be a shame to break it, particularly given how much the previous owner spent maintaining it.
Lovely car same colour as my gt cloverleaf will be stunning when resprayed

I wish I had garage like yours. That blue coupe 🤩
Don't you want to exchange my mainland passenger seat for your UK one on the GT?😆
Any indication of a Q2 or Quaife diff? With the attention it's had in it's life I would've thought that was the first thing to do.
Yep it’s got one. Forgot to say
Oh my God....I so want that car... I have the 1.8 GT and it's a fantastic car going around corners... I'm definitely going to keep an eye on this one... I'm very interested. I've always wanted the v6.

@@ItaliaAutos oh I will..👍

@@ItaliaAutos Great!!
If there is no rust its always a bargain especially if there is a busso V6 with parts available.😁

@@ItaliaAutos can't wait :)
Unfortunately I am not in the UK, but otherwise I'd be interested for sure. I live in Sweden and there's not an abundance of Busso engines Alfas here. I really hope you sort it out rather than break it.

Wow that car is a must have for most alfisti...
Get that bad boy wrapped in matt black. Nice gold wheels on the stock ones and your away :)
how to half a cars value lol
@@ItaliaAutos But that paintjobs gonna be expensive!
My ambition is to buy a red Alfa, been thinking about it for years, am going to take the plunge one day.

Cheers 👍
Its not being sold unfinished sorry.
I bought one of these new back in 06 for 26K UK pounds. Was a nightmare, almost every electric bit of the car broke within 3 month and I gave the dealer the car back. Such a shame cos it was extremely good to drive, much nicer/faster than a golf Gti MkV or Mazda RX8.
luckily there not all like that. thanks for watching.
That might not be in your standards, but if could (I'm a froggy) I'd choose you to take care of my fiat bravo 2 multiair !
Wish they did other alfas in the zoe yellow like the 145 in the background
me too.
if that car was for sale here in that condition it would easily sale for over 5/6k
Lovely car it would be sad to tear it to parts
its needs a customer to stump up the ££ to save it.
All that said, I wish I had space for it, I'd be giving you a call.
nice.
Alfa’s are fabulous, stylish great driving cars-but total money pits. Like Clarkson says everyone should own at least one Alfa before they die. I loved my 146ti!
The radiator support panel looks clean. I have a brand new genuine one if your interested.
yeah its a good car just needs someone to stump up the ££ to save it.
If only Alfa had jacking points like BMWs and their big obvious plastic jacking "markers".
The gt has arrows stamped in the sill indicating where to jack but people ignore them. Mine had the same problem when I got it.
So,I’m guessing I shouldn’t buy one unless I’m willing to spend quite a bit of money on it.?
Just by wisely. Check out my buyers guide
Must be saved. Much better condition than my 2008 Gt 1/9GTDM and cheaper too!

Is 3 grand an absolute top of the line respray? Surely a solid colour could be done more cheaply in the trade
i like things done right.
V6 goes for nice $. This one needs to be restored. And with all the history it has, I think there shouldnt be toig of a problem selling it :?
FWIW I think AutoLusso have been developing an ECU kit - www.alfaowner.com/threads/autolusso-gta-ecu-kit.1171471/
Lovely cars but not worth doing money wise
Plus more speed and power can be had for less money and hassle
noice and clean
I think it’s worth doing up to top standard. I would also be interested in it provided it comes in at reasonable money.
tune in next time lol
Don't break it, please. GT's are getting scarce and the V6 is the only one that is appreciating at the moment, I've heard of someone who has 4 of them for this reason. If you can afford the time/money restore it, if not pass it on to someone who can, but don't break it!!
