GoT Season 8 Being Devoid of Logic 3

- A funny Minutes Straight Game of Thrones video!! There are a lot of funny edits and I use text edits as a form of commentary to add something new to video in the form of funny character expressions. This video centers around there not being any logic in Season 8 of Game of Thrones.

D&D : "Au contraire, we stretched it out to 6 episodes."
Incredible

Add ten deaths to every character for this comment, holy shit OOF!
Obviously this a joke, but did she actually say that? Was Cersei meant to miscarriage? Thanks
@@saccerzd Indeed she did say that. Who knows, it might turn up as a deleted scene sometime.
Ned Stark in the books: Falls off horse, breaks leg, out of commission rest of the book.
Jon Snow in Show: Falls off dragon, totally fine.
To be fair the horse fell *on top* of ned, but Jon still should have been a lot more injured
Jon should have been a thick, red smear. That snow was NOT that deep, and he skidded face down for a good while. If this were season one, he'd have looked like a motorcycle crash victim...
Neds horse falls on him in the book but in the show Jaime shoves a spear through the back of his knee

"Leaving Podrick out of the death count as his rod can defeat anyone"
Truth.
Had a good giggle
House Payne: the rod is unbreakable.
Dwarf rod has magic pow... ummm I mean Pod's rod :D PodRod
First I thought, as the wights have no weapons, the armors of the characters were a rare good protection. But then it occurred to me that Sam wasn't wearing any armor and that Theon was stabbed by the NK with a thin and broken piece of wood. It penetrated the armor of steel through both the breastplate and the back armor.
Shoulda named him Rodrick then
"I'll just leave Podrick out of this, since his rod can defeat anyone."
I appreciate your honesty.
Podrick could just sing the White walkers to sleep.

The cock jokes certainly did increase tenfold in the most recent seasons. Clearly an indicator of creative genius at work.
That's because the writers forgot how to make good jokes. And crude sex jokes are easier to make rather than clever and witty one-liners.
The problem with crude humor is, while can be funny when done right, it's usually not clever and doesn't have much thought put behind it. That's why you'd normally hear these jokes slip off the tongues of middle/high-schoolers. They are simple and ironically immature jokes despite the mature subject matter. Not to mention, when they become so redundant and over-used, it just doesn't sound funny anymore.
That's cause Dumb & Dumber's writing team was mostly made up of 12 year old's in puberty! Season 8 had to be written by children!!
Honestly, the "Maybe it is all cocks in the end" scene is unironically one of my favorite scenes in the show.
Varys should have asked Tyrion if he stopped reading books, because it does seem like he has ran out of material.
But then again, this would have broken the 4th wall in a sense..
I think the worst part about it is how all those jokes are pretty much interchangable between characters. In the earlier seasons and the books jokes like these might have added a bit of levity while at the same time working to humanize the characters. No two characters had exactly the same sense of humor or wit just like real people.
Its weird how pre-season 8 got was a cultural phenomena, and was known by almost everyone. Post-season 8, no one even dares to mention the series
D&D made the Chernobyl of bad writing
Phenomenon.
Truu
Fr though. I don’t think I’ve heard about the show even once since then.
The strength of the series was always the story and when Martin welshed on his pinky promise to finish it on schedule.. well no more story to produce and of course the results were predictable. Frankly I suspect Martin might not have a clear idea on how to actually bring the entire thing to a satisfactory conclusion, wouldn't be the first writer to weave a Gordian knot and fail to untangle it in the end. It would certainly explain why his next book has been a work in progress for a decade.
The problem is that the walkers are too OP, they can't be overpowered, so the only way to beat them would be with a trick. But you can't just pull any old deus ex machina out of your rear and declare victory, because otherwise what's the point. You got to have the final Chekhov's gun ready from the very beginning, having been waiting it's time in plain sight unnoticed by everybody. But if Martin forgot to set it up, it's kind of late to go back and insert it into the first book now.

As he's crying over her dead body, Unsullied guards rush in after Drogon's cry of anguish at seeing his mother dead. They don't even waste time jailing him or putting him in chains, they just brutally murder him and he dies lying beside Dany.
@@13linkinparkluver13 yeah that would've been a better ending, in fact it would've been better if Jon snow wasn't resurrected or at least not before stannis won, d and d made him a fan fiction literary product to please his fans. Stannis should've been the one rallying the north and defeating the boltons, he didn't get his pay off very well, and I think the transition of the azor ahai prophecy from stannis to Jon after being resurrected would've been a great pay off for Jon's apparent azor ahai foreshadowing and stannis claim to the throne would've been solidified and rally the north to his cause. I think that's s what's gonna happen in the books, Jon staying at the wall where he his fate belongs and stannis rallying more people for the second battle for the dawn.

God I forgot that there has literally been only one real white-walker fight. They're such cool characters that are supposed to be so powerful and they are traumatically underutilized, much like literally every other piece of the GoT world. So upset.
Richard Adam there are 3 fights with white walkers in the show actually
Richard Adam
1) Sam defending Gilly and the baby
2) The Hardhome Battle
3) The Fight Beyond the Wall
Chacu Did not see any white walkers fighting beyond the wall. I think one of them handed Nk ice spear.
the oriole Jon Snow killed one white walker before capturing one soldier from the army of the death, before Gendry started running to eastwatch and the whole army started following the squad
Chacu you are right...better memory than me..although truth be told that is a low bar. Lol
After the Hardhome fight, I was totally left thinking that white walkers, the night king, and the army of the dead were the main antagonists. And that's what they were supposed to be. There were 7 seasons of "winter is coming" all for it to be dealt with halfway through the final season. They were supposed to be the most dangerous thing the world had ever seen, but they didn't quite live up to that. It's "winter is coming" not "cersei is coming and also now Danaerys is going to murder a million people".
I would have been cool with the cersei conflict being the main story, if it had been intended from the start
Well it shows that humans can be as terrifying and terrible as whitewalkers and shows all human flaws that put us in danger as a species, but it's badly done.
@@jamesduffy7549 season 7 should have been Dang defeating Cersei, and season 8 all about the white walkers.

I always liked to imagine that after becoming the three-eyed raven, Bran was constantly high as unholy fuck and barely aware of what's going on around him, so when he saw Theon in this scene he didn't want to impart some profound final message *or* send him off to die for a laugh, but rather he just realized that Theon was present, and he wanted his Greyjoy bro to know he was a good dude
Theon technically delayed the nightking. It could have been that Arya wouldn’t get there in time without him.
The wights came on like an ocean of bodies and overwhelmed the Dothraki, but at 1:09 they just shimmy very slowly towards Jon 🤦♂️
@TheRealist 811 yes I agree. Completely terrible. Such a letdown. For years, you hype Jon and the Night King. They have stare downs. They make a big deal of Jon killing a White Walker and the Night King witnessing it. They emphasize that Valyrian steel can kill a white walker and only certain characters have Valyrian steel yet not ONE character clashes blades with a white walker. I don't even care that Arya killed the night King, but at least have Jon fight the NK a little bit and maybe Arya strikes the killing blow while he's distracted with Jon. Got Season 8: successfully subverted our expectations...
... in the worst way humanly possible
That’s what we get for expecting it to be decent.
After season 6 and 7 I was expecting it to be crap but hoping they'd subvert *that* expectation.
You see... the problem with subverting expectations is... They usually pick the expectation that this show/movie is going to be great... and succeed.
The white walkers and the night king were probably my favorite villains of all time. It pissed me off so much the way they went out with no explanation and NO FIGHT SCENES?!?!?
the whitewalkers won in e3, all other episodes were just halucinatory dmt trips the characters experienced in the moment before death
yeah its better
Tru
Exactly!! Why is no one realising it??!
Ultimate Genjutsu
This is a better ending than what we got.
The jokes about genitalia were so forced and unecessary, thanks for pointing that out lol

@@neverbrokeagain3866 It's been a problem since season 5. People like to act like season 8 ruined the show, but in actuality the show has been hot garbage since season 5.
DenOfWhasps nah i dont agree with that
Thats just me though
@@headbangerdnb Seaon 5 was still really good, seasons 6 and 7 were pretty good, 8 was bad. In my opinion ofc
Especially the one right at the start of season 8, where Varys asks Tyrion why he indulges so readily in cock jokes when he's bothered by dwarf jokes, and he replies with "because I have balls".
That dialogue would be fucking embarrassing in some edgy primary school writing assignment. How the fuck nobody convinced D&D to leave that travesty out is beyond me, and it kind of showed me right away that season 8 was going to be dreadful.
I never got how the hand that threw a spear strong enough to pierce dragons scales at high speeds couldnt crush Arya’s throat instantly
You know how your lighter flickers when there is wind and you have to spark like 100 times to get a flame? That's the Lord of Light for you.
It's genuinely a miracle when it works
The Melisandre thing I have no issues with. Melisandre's magic requires sacrifices, of blood/youth/vitality. Remember how drained Stannis was after the shadow-baby? She set all those swords ablaze and lit that trench with no apparent sacrifices, so it stands to reason she was sacrificing HERSELF to cast these spells, which would explain why she so rapidly decayed into nothing upon taking off her vitality charm. She used herself up with those two spells, and struggled with the second as she was running exceedingly low on blood/youth/vitality to sacrifice.
@@Kershmey She better up sacrifice those unsullied or dothraki to set the entire field a blaze instead of one trench lmao
The shit sucks! Hunkered over like a fool trying to find a way to block the wind.
Lol no one seemed to understand that scene. To me it was so obvious that it was a showing of how the Lord of Light wields the power and NOT Melissandre. He chooses when to cast the spell, even if she's the one chanting the words.
That fact you got every shot of Cersei staring out a window is perfection.
Dude, that landscape comparison for Kingslanding between season 5 and season 8 was the funniest shit ever.
I wish I could roll Bran into a pit of white walkers.
Best comment. You won :D
samwell death count is pretty accurate
I just love how when arya got caught by the night king she just gained a death count by that alone
Night King would have snapped her neck with a mere twitch if it wasn't for plot armor.
That Arya “OOMFH” sound is absolutely golden
Is that Arya? I thought it's from a vine
Ive legit been laughing my ass off over that one specifically hahaha
Actually, that “oomph” noise is a meme death sound from the game Roblox.
xCrimsonxTidex My bad there, It does sound like Maisie Williams though so it’s fitting for the video
melissandre was out of mana or just on cooldown spamming that one ability LULW
Maybe it has only a 10% success rate.
Lol no one seemed to understand that scene. To me it was so obvious that it was a showing of how the Lord of Light wields the power and NOT Melissandre. He chooses when to cast the spell, even if she's the one chanting the words.
@@TTGHAST Melissandre never had trouble casting spells before. Daavos was begging her (IIRC) to resurrect Jon. She didn't have to chant the same spell 30 times for it to work just so LoL, the guy supposedly there to delete darkness, can flex that he's in power, not Melissandre.
Your explanation is absolute shit, just like Season 8's logic. Go fuck yourself.
I wouldn't even be mad if they gave this as an explanation.
its like Arx Fatalis where you try to draw a spell but you fail all the time for some reason
5:46 Hey that's not fair Lena Headey hated not getting to do any real work. That woman is worth every penny if you give her a good script to work with

It was probably addressed in one of his other videos, it does have a 3 in the title
@@chasm671 Yea when Melissandre went to die, she also cast a mass ress spell.
The whole Battle of Winterfell strategy was the dumbest thing ever. I mean, they even placed catapults in front of infantry, instead of on the towers.
@@a2falcone the infantry should never have been outside the castle anyways.
I actually didn't mind the Tyrion fixing chairs scene. It reminded me of how painstakingly GRRM set up his books only for D+D to come in and completely disregard what he did and what he was trying to accomplish.

The Battle of Winterfell just looks plain silly after watching this video.
It would look silly if we could bloody see anything
@@SuperAdome Why do u think they made it so we couldn't see anything? 200 iq plays
It looked silly WHILE watching it too. As epic as it was, when I expected countless characters to die in those EXACT situations and then next shot their alive and kicking, I stopped giving a shit about this show lol. Knew they were going to pull some BS
The episode was horrible from the beginning.

Jaime: Rickon
Dickon: Dickon
Bronn *laughs*
Yeah...What a stupid, childish joke...Piss poor writing!
I still laugh at every Bronn+Jaime scene
ah also he forgot where Bronn gropes Podrick at Riverrun siege.
I actually didn't mind that one. It was SO childish that it became ironically funny.
to be honest I found that funny
Oh my goodness that ‘ooh!’ Counter had me in stitches 😂
This video is of higher quality than season 8 writing.
Considerably higher.
Podrik legit the only one putting up a damn fight. That's your King right there.
The scene isn't that she has to say the spell 30 times to get it to work, it's that she has to say it with a certain amount of conviction and confidence in order to be answered, but she's overwhelmed with fear and almost gives in.
"i think we can all agree that we would rather see a miacariage scene than tyrion fixing chaires" O.O
Season 7
if you’re doing a #4, one thing I didn’t understand is how the morning right after Cersei and Euron sleep together, she tells him she has a baby?????? And says it’s his?? DONT YOU THINK THATS A LITTLE TOO SOON???
NOT SUSPICIOUS AT ALL!
It's not like Euron was particularly bright. I do believe that he would just assume that's how it worked.
Still dumb tho.
@IceCola going by that logic Brienne, Dany and Arya should all be pregnant (especially Brienne after that one month with Jaime in Winterfell) but NOPE. Anyway...D&D kinda forgot about logic.
@@Romy-90
Maybe they used pig skin as a condom, lul.
@@CODA96 Ewww 😂 But hey - they have 'Moon Tea' in Westeros, which can prevent pregnancy.
@@Romy-90
They did use pig skin back then. And where did they mention ''Moon Tea''? Books?
I'm sure someone's already pointed it out, but: WHY IS SANSA CROWNED? I like her, and it's a feel-good moment, but it's devoid of logic. The northerners chose Jon; if anything they'd be happy to know he stood up to Dany and meted out harsh justice like Ned's son should.
If you want to go for fridge logic, not only is BRAN an evil mastermind who foresaw everything, including Dany's turn to the dark side, and let it happen so he could take the throne, but evidently he and Sansa hatched an evil plot together en route to King's Landing. Bran banished Jon, opening the way for Sansa to take the throne of the North, and then he assented to her going independent without any discussion. They've gone rogue! Arya was right to mistrust Sansa after all! Maybe she's fleeing the country so she doesn't have to kill her own siblings, or to get away before they cook up a plot against her!
Er yeah. So, here's how the powerful women in this show wind up:
- Cersei: wicked and evil, dies pregnant and powerless, sobbing for her knight in shining armor to save her.
- Dany: White savior plot arc suddenly jumps into the Star Trek mirrorverse dimension, replacing her with MadQueen; she is then put down like a dog by her lover
- Sansa: steals her brother's throne through season 8's favorite magic genie, It Happened Offscreen Somehow
- Arya: Fails to fulfill her life's purpose, fails to reconnect with her family, runs away
Girl power, amirite?

Its not an excuse lol, i just said it would be pretty sad losing him, thats all.
I guess not even the undead wanted him in their ranks
Sam should have been in the crypts. And making sure to remind people on what Jon had seen, that the Night King can raise the dead.
This way they could have been ready when the graves start to open and killed them before they rise up with smaller dragonglass weapons. Here ghost would have made sense too, as he would have noticed this before anyone else, NOT sent out to battle where he is of no real use.
And in the crypts two book readers would have met, Sam and Tyrion. So write some dialogue for them.

@@leonpaelinck Forget about scouts, it was a clear and cloudless day and Dany had a flying vantage point over an open, flat sea. The literal camera angle is the only thing hiding the fleet.
GoT season 8 was the biggest *bruh moment* in the history of the world.
*captain hindsight has taken the throne*
How do you know Bran didn't plan the King's Landing massacre the whole time-he only spoke up if it would add stress to Dany's life and not to prevent stress. When the massacre happened it knocked Jon and Dany out of the running. But D and D are probably too dumb to realize some of their scenes give a credible argument to Bran being the biggest mass murderer.
Long may he reign!

pods singing was amazing, 100% highlight of the season for me tbh. Dany's arrival was basically the first time she met Sansa but this time everyone in the north in Sansa.
Riding on horses: people using saddles
Flying on dragons: no saddles, no straps, no wind in the eyes, no cold, even wind hardly flows through Dany's hair.
