The Dothraki kinda forgot they were dead
haha good one
Because what's dead may never die...or something?
Christopher Herrera that happens to me sometimes
No no no. You got it all wrong. The Night King raised them remember? Duuuhhhh. Then Daenarys explained to them in plain Dothraki why their lives would be much improved if they renounced their Night Kingy ways and came back to the flock. You have to read the expanded universe to understand the nuance.
Lol. She split her army. Pay attention to the show
The one death in Game of Thrones that no one expected: Game of Thrones
"If you thought this was going to end well, you haven't been paying attention." Ramsay Snow, Season *Three*
Britannia they were 2 of most expected deaths. Both men were honourable idiots. I knew robb was dead the moment he married
actually we've been expecting it since season 5
@@genesisdawn6672 but it did have a happy ending....
Now that's really game of thronesish
Imagine being paid millions to write the most successful tv show of all time, and using, “she just king of forgot” as reasoning for anything a primary character would or would not do in one of the most important episodes of said show.
Bloody fanfictions are usually more intelligently witten than season 8
@@fatallyfatcat5274 yeah fanfiction surely has a lot more knowledge and passion in it... you can see these guys didn't really care about the show at all, just about their success and inflated egos
It was career suicide. Utter contempt.
Even more simply imagine saying a character "kinda forgot" about the largest fleet in the world. That's a hell of a threat to forget.
“Somehow, Palpatine returned.”
The worst thing about season 8 is that I would have loved to see Danny have reasons and time to develop a certain madness, but not in the course of one fucking episode! It would take at least a whole season to make it feasible
How about a whole show? Because she kinda hasn't changed at all since episode 5.
The night king being defeated in one episode a bigger travesty imo
@@lukebullen705 I do juggle which was worse, the way the Night King is defeated in that one episode and how bad that episode was as a whole. Or Danny in episode 5 of the series just going 'welp I am evil now' and the show actually trying to make us feel sympathy for Cersei... uh NO!
Not even just one episode, _one fucking scene_
I’m so annoyed with people complaining about Dany’s arc. Her ending is about the only one that makes sense and they were certain clues that definitely showed her arrogance and thirst for power had grown.
Power is the root of all evil. Power corrupts all. Like these are typical story tropes for a reason, Dany didn’t need more fleshing out for being mad, especially when her dad was the mad king (no doubt some form of bipolar disorder).
But Jon, he was absolutely robbed. You don’t build a character arc to make him Azor Ahai, resurrect him like he’s some god like figure with some long game purpose, add all of these clues just to later confirm he is indeed the true heir to the iron throne, just to completely plow through all of that and dismantle and erase his character development, sending him back over the wall, where he began as an insecure, self deprecating “bastard.”
Sam being the oldest Tarly is literally the reason he was sent to the wall.

@@rebatsu GRRM already said that the end of the books will be different. We can hope.
@@marcuskurze9759 Personally, I hope the ending is considerably different from the show. And in all honesty, I actually would like for it to be a happy ending, at least happy in comparison to the show's ending. I know George R.R. @@JakegothicsnakeI am open for surprises. It can hardly be more bitter than the ending in the Show. Some minor things would aready make it better so lets wait and see.
Jakegothicsnake I’d settle for an ending that makes sense
Dumb and Dumber talked about how they didn't want to be "predictable" when they picked Arya to kill the Night King, and GRRM has warned against this too: something along the lines of "if you have a murder mystery, and you've planned the story until the big reveal where the butler did it, but people start guessing it was the butler, and you want to surprise them by saying that it was actually the chamberlain, then you've just ruined your entire work". It applies perfectly here
Can we all just appreciate Emilia Clarke's beautiful performance till the very end. She tried....
Emilia Clarke fought valiantly, Emilia Clarke fought bravely, Emilia Clarke died.
All the actors did a great job.
The second (and last ever) time I watched the ending, after acceptance had set in... wow she fucking nailed that throneroom scene. I was in anticipatory tears the whole time,

True. And it would make sense considering how hopeless the whole situation looked. Would be real expectation subversion
And then have it be all ice dancing, snowball fights, and ice paradise? Awesome!
Honestly. Better ending with less effort, while providing a scenario to maybe later pick up on. People from Essos wondering why the trade stopped, wights brought over on ships etc.
But most importantly people also wouldn't shut up about that kind of ending.
I WANTED THAT. I wanted everyone at winterfell to either die or retreat into hiding. We’d lose important characters like Jorah Mormont and Berix Dondarion and Tormund, for sure but we’d GAIN a better story with higher stakes when both the dead AND Daenerys want to sack Kings Landing and then you could have had Cersei finally have a use for the wildfire, scarce as it was after she blew up the sept of Baelor. I think if only they decided to make a “Zombie” apocalypse style for the 8th season and then did a 9th season we could finally see characters like Jaime get redeemed, Cersei could even get redeemed or kill herself, Danearys could slowly lose her mind as time went on leading to Jon having to sacrifice her for the good fo the realm, and then instead of throwing Jon in prison we coule have seen Jon become the king of the seven kingdoms and lead the people out of darkness but also give the crown to bran knowing he’ll be well guarded as he retreated to the north for the rest of his days. Sansa could have had many kore good moments in the end commanding her forces, Arya could still have played a part in killing the Night King, or maybe she and Jon could have done it together. I could think of many great possible outcomes this show potentially had.

With the Missandei name thing, they also continuously pronounce Catelyn like Kaitlyn instead of Cat-lyn even though it's said multiple times in the show, with characters even calling her Cat (not Kate) and they are the PRODUCERS
There are random clips of them now just being straight up disrespectful and acting like they know nothing and don't care about the show waaay before they destroyed it. Dickon being sams older brother doesn’t even make sense.
Sam wouldn’t be sent to the nights watch if he had an older brother.
Exactly.
Yes. But it was nice to see Tom Hopper for a few minutes before he got roasted.
Why not?
ton because his older brother would get the family name and tittle. Not Sam. Sam was only sent because he wasn’t a fighter like his dad. And by him being the eldest he would get everything when his father dies. Old world stuff. The roadway gets everything. Only if it’s a boy.

Or when Tormund says "What kind of crazy bastard rides a dragon?" After he had already ridden one in himself lol
With like 5 other people including Dany who is literally the mother of dragons and the person who saved him.
To be fair, Jon did do a little more than simply ride one. It's like comparing riding on a wild stallion as the passenger and riding as the person commanding the stallion.
He *kinda forgot* he did that
What irritates me most about that one is that there was literally NO NEED for Tormund's praising of Jon in that scene to have anything whatsoever to do with the dragon riding! Like... Jon had genuinely done tons of amazing sh*t that was all his own, and Tormund absolutely would have gushed about him that way no matter what, so why focus it around the ONE thing that was first and foremost Daenerys' thing!? What, like it would be too much of a stretch to suggest that Dany could start feeling jealous and insecure about Jon being loved based on his actual, well-earned merit?
All it did to have it be about the dragon riding was give credence to the Dany fans who like to claim that "Jon got all the credit and did nothing while Dany did everything"- which simply isn't the case whatsoever, so why suddenly MAKE it the case as if Tormund couldn't have far more realistically just gushed about everything Jon had done for the North and the Free Folk? And yes, it also would have made a lot more sense anyway given that Tormund had in fact ridden on Drogon before himself.
@@stephaniel2850 Tormund didn't ride it.. he was just a passenger.. but yeah that scene was stupid af. Cuz he saw dany riding drogon and saving all of them while burning the "zombies" but he didn't say anything about that. HOW TO HATE D&D/SEASON 8 EVEN MORE:
1.) Make the issue of Jon Snow's parentage -- central to the story for seven seasons -- meaningless.
2.) Make prophecies about Jon Snow being the "Prince Who Was Promised" or "Azor Ahai" meaningless.
3.) Make Jon Snow an unimportant background character who says "...but she's my queen" and "I don't want it."
4.) Make Dany go from valiant hero to mad queen over the course of one episode.
5.) Toss aside years of character building for no actual payoff (we're looking at Jaime, Sansa, Tyrion, Bran, etc.).
6.) Make Greyworm into, well, a whiny dimwit.
7.) Fundamentally change Bran's personality and character from Season 6 to Season 7 and then make him the King in Season 8.
8.) Make the "Long Night" last, well, a single night (or, at best, the amount of time that it takes to travel from the Wall to Winterfell).
9.) Turn the Golden Company into meaningless dragon fodder.
10.) Turn Euron Greyjoy into a stupid madman.
11.) Kill off a dragon by somehow not being able to see a ship or flying arrows. The next battle, have the dragon avoid thousands of flying arrows.
12.) Make Bronn the "Master of Coin."
Make Bronn Lord of Highgarden ffs

I really think that they misunderstood the Melisandre prophecy for Arya. I'm pretty sure it's talking about how she will become a faceless man (her eyes changing colour) because that's what her arc is about? The shutting them forever I think is about her either dying or giving up being aa faceless man after she realises revenge isn't what she wants her life to be. But hey they know better than us! :)
Bran stood by and let Bad things happen. Didn’t say a word.
Mad Bran confirmed.
He was especially mad then since he can't stand xD
If he was so all seeing why didn't he warn about Dany? Were the ravens down?
I remember when Bran said “why do you think I’ve come all this way” my whole family screamed “Bullshit!”
I love this comment so much.
There was so much wrong with that.
Dorne had been fighting for independence from the throne for centuries. But they're cool with the heir of Winterfell taking the Iron Throne, whilst Winterfell itself is granted the freedom to operate as it's own independent nation. BULLSHIIIIIIIT! Just bad writing
Actually for him to be a political schemer all along is less bullshit than it being for a dramatic reason. That part actually makes sense, he didn't do much throughout because he had seen what happens, and didn't want to ruin the trajectory of events so that he DOES end up powerful.
My whole family including me saw that and we called it horseshit

@@karenm9170 Up until season 5-6, GoT was neck on neck with BB, i'd argue it actually trumped it at some point. BB did one thing better in my opinion: It actually delivered an ending worthy of rememberance. Also, i'll give extra points to Gilligan for coming up with the BB story instead of adapting a series of books and turning them into a show. However, BB plot moved at an extremely slow pace and apart from the dialogue/interactions between the characters, nothing breathtaking happened. Is there really any BB moment that can compare to the Blackwater Bay battle when it comes to visuals, atmosphere, backstory etc? I'd say no but feel free to prove me wrong, i'll be more than happy.

I don't get why Jon didn't have a kick ass fight with the Night King. Even if he lost and Arya still killed the Night King, Jon should've fought him.
He was way too busy with the very important business of screaming at a dragon to be involved in the defeat of the Night King in any meaningful way. Besides, you obviously don't need him there to help out when Arya can sneak past a closed ring of White Walkers and launch herself as if she's been fired from a gigantic sling shot. What a goddamn travesty this show turned out to be.
If Arya HAD to kill him. Have Jon fight the NK, in a well structured fight scene slowly driving him away from Bran. We just about hear Bran mutter "he's better than you." Jon is knocked down and Arya leaps in with a Tower of Joy callback to finish the fight.

"Battles can get boring really quickly" ???? Where did you learn that writing class ???
they clearly did not have a lot of confidence in their battle, they must have thought that we would say something like "this has been done before but better"
"Yes, because it gets boring writing clang, cling, clang for a hundred pages." Said no author ever until these dumbshits.
Well, not everyone is into action to begin with. It's obvious there are people who were likely bored during Helm's Deep and any other battle sequence. The draw of GOT was never battles, after all.
That said, they're not wrong about that... in a general sense. Yes, really long battles absolutely can get boring... if you as a writer fail to give them the stakes they need to hold our attention throughout the entire battle. It's just common sense.
@@frieza65 I thought Helms Deep was more suspenseful than anything. Just like the final battle in Saving Private Ryan, with the overwhelming sense of dread. The action just added to the experience, which is the main reason for creating a final battle. At least that's what I always thought.

I'm so glad that they're not working on Star Wars anymore.
Arya had nothing to do with the night king. It’s like if Tormund killed Cersei. We know tormund can fight like Arya. Yeah it would be unexpected but it wouldn’t make sense narratively.
This.
True. Only one besides Jon would could have realistically killed the NK was Davos (Reborn Amidst Salt and Smoke and Woke a Dragon out of Stone with Advicing Stannis to go North).
Arya got to avenge many deaths over the course of the series. She took down Littlefinger (along with Sansa), the entire Frey house, Meryn Trant, the Waif, Polliver, and probably some one else I'm forgetting. Jon was completely set up as the one to take on the Night King. It should've been his kill. I would've been okay with Arya helping him do it, but he should've been the one with the final blow.
D&D love Maisie and Arya as a stand alone person and character , they did it for her to have an epic scene. I swear that’s what drove them, not to make sense for the overall storyline or plot. Same with hooking her up with Gendry. I mean I loved it but it was rushed and unsatisfying.
@@livinglife3483 Not to mention Arya and Gendry's relationship was suddenly cut short, and no closure given in the Finale.
I’m sure someone else has already said this, but Bran was the bad guy all along. He manipulated events the entire time with his powers so he could become king. Bran is immortal since he can warg into other people. It’s also established he can affect the past because of Hodor. And at the end Bran goes searching for Drogon so he can have a weapon of mass destruction. Bran was literally the Palpatine of GoT.
That's my take on it as well.
No? No? No? When in the show was is shown that Bran wanted to be king? Or that he did all he did for that reason?

Don't be to harsh on them they did an incredible job, the last seasons have so many subtle hints and messages and people really don't appreciate them.

-We don't care about the series but only about how much we make so we'll end it early with minimal effort in order to be able to spend time on maximizing profit
-We have no idea about the personalities of the characters we are writing the scripts for
-We don't know what we are doing but we don't care

The story was a serious turd. But the visuals damn. Great visual artists. And the music score was epic. HBO D&D wasted many people's efforts.
This is the saddest part.
Naa the Visuals could be better. I mean look at lotr. It's like 20 years old and the visuals are still better. Thats a bit sad. And the music in Lord of the Rings is better. My opinion
Actually HBO tried toget D&D to go for at least 10 seasons but Dumass & Dipshit were too busy running out the door for those big Star Wars bucks. The fact that even in the abortion that was seasons 7&8 the actors ,cinematagrophers, CGI specialists and wardrobe and crafts were at such a high caliber prove that the destruction of what should have been telivisions greateset series was the work of two A-holes. When the next Star Wars comes out written by these two let's show them the North isn't the only ones that remember!
They shit on the huge efforts of all the cast and crew
When you could actually see ... the visuals were great. How did they fk up the night scenes so much though. I couldn't see jack sht.
We just need Martin to get off his ass and finish the books. Then have someone pick up the series after season 5ish and give it the "Full metal alchemist brotherhood" treatment lol
We had eight years of character growth and development and they decided the best ending would be to have the characters revert back to their old selves or go from good to evil overnight. It was like sike, just kidding… Danny isn’t different from her father bran isn’t the three eyed raven Jaime isn’t an a good person and wants to be with Cersei after all and Let’s have Arya kill the night king even though John’s been hunting him down since season one. We could go on and on.
Bran spends his entire puberty going to beyond the wall and back when Jon and his A team killers did it in one episode 🧐
Yeah but Bran was crippled while the other guys returned on a dragon/horse
@Dillon notmylastname The worst part of that scene is they could have made it actually make sense by just using Bran. Bran follows Jon's crew Warging a raven, he sees that shit is quickly heading sideways. He then goes to the Weirwood in Winterfell and sits where Ned sat. He then Wargs Rhaegal in order to save Jon. Dany sees Rhaegal going awol or making some pre existing crys for help while flying away. (maybe akin to the noises Drogon was making when Dany handed him over to the slavers in Astapor) Dany then sees the army of the dead, saves Jon's crew, and the wight gets taken.
But nope what we get is a bunch of scenes that completely ruins any suspensions of disbelief. It's so clear that they only did a rough draft of the later seasons and spent the rest of their time just fucking around, letting other talented members of the crew to salvage the wreckage.

The cuts of the Helms Deep fight I feel aren't far only because we got scenes with the Ents and Isengard during the battle, and scenes of levity within the battle itself. You know, a much more well thought out and plotted battle scene that takes place at night in the rain using orcs that wear black armor. Not undead that could wear all kinds of different colors clothing with blue eyes and fires raging all around. ;)
