Ok, let me start by saying it's your bike and you don't need to justify what you want to do to anybody as long as you're happy with it. Personally however I like the hard bag look a lot better to me the leather pros look kind of cheap again this is only my opinion and it's not my bike so my opinion doesn't matter just my two cents is all.

Hi Heather, Ray L. here. Hope all is well with you and Anthony. I took the Low Rider for a test ride during Laconia bike week, the performance was amazing, I want a 117, 121 or 131 engine swap in my Electra glide Ultra. As for the bags on the LR-ST for me Harley engineers 100% blew it, the bags suck the way they open, stupid design I'd through them in the trash.

I like the OEM bags on my Low Rider ST…and was surprised at how much room there actually is in them. Ya definitely need to give thought to what, where and how much ya stuff into them…and I’d definitely prefer top loaders, but…. They’re fine for me for local riding, and I’d be taking a rack-mounted bag on any multi-day rides anyway, so I’m good with them. No question that the Leather Pros offer more space. It’s whatever works best for the rider!

I added the Advanblack king size tour pack with their smoked reaper lights on mine because the side bags suck lol. My lunch bag was too big to fit in one. And even though one is smaller I swear you don’t notice a difference when packing them out. Eventually I want a 2 into 1 and then put bigger bags on it, maybe. Pretty happy adding the king size tour pack. Keep the videos coming!!

The ST is the new Sport Glide. I've been wanting that bike since COVID '20. I do a lot of long distance riding on my Yamaha Bolt R-Spec; in '21 went to New Mexico at the Oklahoma Texas Panhandle 971 miles from New Orleans where I live. It was 90 degrees out when I left, two days later Memorial Monday it was 52 degrees out in Clayton, NM and I wasn't prepared for it, and by the time I got to Boise City, OK it was drizzling out. Some guy Keith in a pickup at a Love's truck stop gave me a sweat jacket to wear under my riding gear.👍

Kinda the same here. Not a big fan of the shallower bag on the right side and wish they provided more room. That said, I do like the hard bag, even the clamshell style, but then I have the El Diablo and it just wouldn't look the same. Now on your black bike or on a grey one, I really like the Leather Pros. • @rebelsroguesco

I don't think it's a bad idea at all, and I totally get why you made this change. Personally, without the tour pack on there, I like the look of the Leather Pros better than I do the hard bags. With the tour pack, and without seeing it, I think I have to agree with you that the look will be a bit off, considering the tour pack has a gloss finish like the rest of the bike. Who knows, though! The biggest drawback I have with the Leather Pros is the lack of waterproofing. I had a set on my Low Rider S and would've went with them again on the ST had they been fully waterproof. I did a 2500-mile trip on my Low Rider ST last July with a combination of the hard saddle bags and a sissy bar/bag combo. It worked very well for me, but that's not to say I didn't also wish for a little extra room at times, especially in that right-side saddle bag. All I would throw in there was like a sweatshirt , a tool kit, and my rain gear and it'd basically be maxed out.

    • @MotoBlonde
      @MotoBlonde  Рік тому

I agree! I am definitely keeping the hard bags to try out different setups - I know there is a company that makes covers for the LeatherPros so they are waterproof - like a rain coat lol! So I might look into that as well. Definitely would have to put the sissy bar on and a waterproof bag attached and would be good to go on a trip. We will see once I get to ride what works best - I'll definitely post it!

It’s a beautiful bike. But I hate the side opening bags vs the standard top open hard Harley bags. Now these bags are sweet but at $935 and everything gets wet and no ability to lock, it defeats my needs. Thanks for sharing .

How do you like your sdc seat? I'm 5'5" (30ish inseam) with a road glide. The stock seat sits my to far back and is too wide. Would this seat work for me?

I have been following you for a while and am enjoying the journey. I actually don't like the hard bags. leather pros all the way. I am going to get the sissy bar with the extension to put a travel pack on the back of mine. Just more functional for my purpose.

Hard Bags, but I thought the hard bags looked dumb at first but now having my bike for 4 months it grew on me. Maybe the leather pros will too

Do you have the bungking extended version passenger pegs on your bike? if so do you feel like they stick out too far without the stock bags?

Since you ask what we thought. I like the hard bags. But, if you were going on a trip for a few days, the bigger bags would be better. Love the look of the Sissy bar. That's just me though.

Very nice Heather! You beat me to it again!!! ;-). I am thinking the same thing, just don't like the stock bags, but I am probably going to go with standard hard bags, but still weighing it out.
As always, another great topic, where is the information on the sissy bar? Haven't seen that video or info yet??? LOL

For bags that are not waterproof, I'll put my stuff in a garbage bag before I load it into the travel bag.
I know it looks really ghetto, but, keeps my stuff dry.

    Heather leather pros 👍
The best part is, like you said they come off. Hopefully they do have a pouch to put around the bag.
Heather you mentioned sissy bar, do you have a video on install sissy bar with the leather pros? Is the hardware different?

I don’t remember if my leather pros video from my 2020 LRS had the sissy bar in it - but LP gave different size bolts so only difference was making sure I used the right size!
