FYI: I ran the Bosch +4 plugs in my 2001 Civic for over 60K miles without a problem. I think someone put in the wrong model number in your Jeep. Car ran smooth with them and I picked up about 1 MPG for what it's worth. As for your exhaust system, I would find a pipe with the OD and ID correct so you have no leak because it will leak over time and sound like crap. I'm not a Jeep fan but I like the 2 you own. The wheels make them look like something I would want. Keep up the good videos. Found you on JR's channel.
Nice yeah I'm sure other makes are less picky when it comes to spark plugs, but for some reason our Jeep Chrysler Dodge stuff really seems to be particular with correct plugs. But I bet you are correct, the old plugs were probably just the wrong ones for this engine since they were so much shorter. Yeah the newer wheels make them look about 10 years newer lol Thanks for the view!
Correct I put a fresh set into it and got the bad E3 aftermarket plugs in the trash. It ran soooo much smoother after with the correct plugs! Thanks for the view!
I trusted a friend's recommendation one time of putting E3 spark plugs in one of my 2.3l Rangers. Horrible running, hard to get to, and had to put OEM back in. The E3's look like the ones in your video only with 3 electrodes joined together at the spark.
What pipe is that that you replaced it with ?!?! I have so may rubbing problems and I didn’t realize that the pipe that you put in have a little ben in it 😆😆😆😆
Walker 53530 is the part number, it is a 2004 V8 mid-pipe that will work on all of the WJ's, and yes the factory pipe has a small bent in it like the replacement walker pipe. Thanks for the view!
Tyler, thanks for the WJ content. I welcome any tips or recommendations from a knowledgeable Master Tech. I purchased some OEM plugs along with a can of throttle body cleaner to hopefully improve my rough idle. Can you help diagnosis a strange noise for me? Every once in a while upon cold start up, I get a loud clatter for about 15 or 30 seconds and then the noise goes away. Could that be a bad lifter? Maybe this could be a good video recommendation...common 4.0L issues and a discussion regarding what is serious and what is not. Thanks again for the great videos.
@@TylerPotter Tyler, what type of motor oil do you recommend running in these high mileage 4.0 liters? Conventional, syn blend or full synthetic oil? Stick with the 10w30? Thx for the help. Keep the videos coming.
It is a very modified Rusty's offroad tcase skid plate, I start talking about it around the 16min mark on this video. ua-cam.com/video/7w3GGLuTEFk/v-deo.html
I maybe misspoke, I really like using factory spark plugs for any vehicle. I have just seen a lot if vehicles come in with issues and misfires due to aftermarket spark plugs. Regardless of engine I always try to get the factory OEM plugs for it. Thanks for the view!
@@TylerPotter I just noticed my 99 4.0 has a sensor about 6" behind that "resonator" in between it and the muffler. I wonder if that's something they stopped in newer models
I love the old wj content. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Will do!
Keeping original makes drive-ability so much better!! Love your bang vs buck analysis.
Thanks for the view! Sometimes the factory parts are the only way to go!
I miss my Jeep Grand Cherokees. Love the content
Thanks for the view! They are pretty good Jeep's as long as the rust hasn't got to them!
Great advice Tyler. Keep the WJ content coming!
Thanks for the view!
Those Jeeps are so mint underneath. The rust belt sucks lol
I got really lucky with these two, we have some come into work that are pretty bad from time to time. Thanks for the view!
Hey Tyler, great job!!! You're getting that white Jeep in top condition!!! Thanks for sharing another fun video!! 👍👍🙂
It has been fun getting it cleaned up in a quick amount of time!

I have an 02 WJ with a 4 liter, keep up the jeep content, I need the help!!!
Thank you so much!
Champion copper plus were the original OEM plugs..

Great job with your videos.
Thank you that means a lot!

I had a friends tahoe missing firing badly after those same E3 plugs!
Only true Jeep people understand why Jeep Mods is a perpetual need/must.
This is true lol Thanks for the view!

That kind of sounds like it might be a lifter but is hard to know for sure without hearing it in person. Thanks for the view!

Removing the big muffler pan will decrease ur gas mileage?
I'm not quite sure what part you are talking about but the pipe I installed won't really change much for gas mileage. Thanks for the view!
@@TylerPotter the big muffler pan at the back
The large pan or skid plate at the very back holds the fuel tank on WJ's.
@@TylerPotter the large pan beside the skid plate
Nice! What skid plate do you have on the maroon jeep?
It is a very modified Rusty's offroad tcase skid plate, I start talking about it around the 16min mark on this video.

Tyler, any thoughts on the GME T6 engine?
No clue as long as it is as easy to work on and reliable at the 4.0 we will be good!
Is that the JSD track bar?
The white jeep just had the stock track bar on it still but my burgundy jeep has a JKS trackbar installed on it. Thanks for the view!
I have to ask, would you only recommend Mopar plugs for the NON HO 4.7L V8? Appreciate it, thank you!

Would that same pipe conversion work with my '06 wrangler unlimited with the 4.0?
No unfortunately the TJ or LJ in your case has a very different exhaust set up. Thanks for the view!
That mid pipe as of 2024 is around $30 bucks on eBay 😅
I think they are still pretty cheap on Rockauto.com
Looks like you better stop by the gas station on your way home!!!
Could you tell she's been driving it for the last week or 2!
Everything needs to be modified lol definitely
Of course lol Thanks again!
@@TylerPotter I just noticed my 99 4.0 has a sensor about 6" behind that "resonator" in between it and the muffler. I wonder if that's something they stopped in newer models
I wonder if it would matter if I just left it and ran the new pipe up to it.
