Can droids even use bacta... doesn't it only work on organic beings? (BTW, the game explains this by saying that you're using "self-repairing droids" when you pick this bonus, and the stamina serum is explained as "advanced power cells")
I don't understand why they chose the Super Battle Droid as the 'stock' starting unit instead of a basic battle droid, always rubbed me the wrong way lmao. Great videos Predz! Can't wait for the next conquest!!!!
Funny part is there is at least one modder that agreed enough to make a mod replacing the standard unit with a stock B1 and the magna guard with the Super Battle Droid. Rebalanced ofc to fit in with the other "commander" type units.
My assumption is they didn’t expect anyone to want to play the basic wimpy B1 and needed some way to fit the Magna guard and Droideka in as special units. So they reused the B2 as the basic soldier, hence why it’s so vastly different from every other class.
Back in the day, it was pretty standard in Star Wars games to make everything around what just came out, make the new thing be on the cover so kids could see it and make their parents not only buy it, but other things that had it. Much like the old Clone Wars cartoon by Tatakovsky featured the B2 as the walls and masses of the Confederacy, Battlefront 2 was made between Episodes 2 and 3. BF2 even had some of the production resources of EP3 so they could model things (mostly) correctly. Thus Superbattle Droids and Magna Guards featured pretty prominently.
I'm convinced there's a "catch up" mechanic involving the ai. You as the player can dominate and kill 75% of the enemy and still somehow lose because your ai Allys just kamikaze the enemy.
Reselecting sniper, while being sniper at a command post, equippes you with the og sniper rifle. Hate the beam one and figured it out once I was legendary with the marksman badge and every time I had to switch to my pistol, I was stuck with the beam rifle.
Nothing you've said in the past videos rings more true to me than your rant about the Beam Rifle. I don't understand what they were thinking with it. It could have just been a semi-auto sniper instead.
*from experience*, I think that each faction has a 'pool' of favored bonuses they pull from thematic to the faction you are fighting, so the CIS grabs things like Energy Boost and Supplies, to represent that they tend to rely on overwhelming *material* superiority, while the Republic favors Garrison to represent that their clone forces tended to be much more concentrated than the CIS's. I think Hero bonuses are specifically left *out* of the pools, at least temporarily, to represent that the heroes emerged onto the battlefield later on in the fight, but the AI never grabs them because they favor filling their bonuses out with their *faction-specific* pool, then grabbing all their units, *then* grabbing the expensive bonuses.
I played this game a lot as a kid, and even before I had any concept of balancing, I realized quickly that CIS are just busted lol. Other units in other factions have a good primary, a secondary pistol is mostly used as last resort, or if you need to finish off the enemy when the primary needs reloading. Here comes super battle droid though, who gets to have a decent primary, a fucking shotgun as secondary with infinite ammo (and it's not even weak at all, will easily one-shot many units), and wrist rockets (they do have a weak splash damage, yes, you should be aiming directly with them). On top of all that, he's a base unit, even though he could easily qualify as a special one, like droideka. No wonder Republic loses most of the time if you leave the AI on their own (this probably depends on the map, sometimes Republic manages to secure a win, most times gets steamrolled). I played with bots exclusively though, sadly never got a chance to play with real players, so I don't know how the matchups between actual players go. Edit: 23:16 were they trying to defuse that? What was that about lmao
In the life support room of the ships, if you blow up the stations that are in there they count towards your kill/reinforcement counter in the mission.
Little known fact: The "tank man" was not run over by the tanks. That's just propaganda. He climbed on top and spoke with the tank commander for a few minutes before jumping off and walking away.
I remembered when I first discovered that droids could survive outside on Polis Masa. It was like such a realization of absolutely... useless knowledge but still cool!
I can’t believe you haven’t been kamikaze’d in an enemy hanger yet especially in the small ones. Used to happen to me every time that I would bring a full gunship over
Check your keybinds for what your lock on is for infantry. This will allow you to lock onto vehicle weakpoints with the rocket launcher before your fire, or in the case of the magna guard, allow the rockets to track onto the target, just aim close to them as its slow to turn
I always used the wrist rockets for any clones in the turrets, easy to headshot them in the head . And the turret would be able to survive a lot longer so you could farm easy kills .
Useless fun fact, you can play a droideka to go bowling. If you "sprint" while in ball form, you get WAY more speed, and you can use that speed to deal damage while rolling into someone. Damages the both of you, but throws them into the air. Go for the bowling ball strat sometime.
considering i think the ending cutscenes for each faction are supposed to be an alt take on the story and that maul is in CIS victory cutscene its almost like they hinted that he would return like 4 or so years ahead of when he'd return in Clone wars. the only one that pretty much follows canon is the rebels as with the republic yoda, obi-wan and widnu defeat there respective foes and anakin stays with the jedi and on the council, , The empire defeats the rebellion leia dies to vader, han remains in jabba's palace with boba and luke bows to palpatine.
The confederacy are unquestionably my favorite star wars faction, they just sorta stand as something unique in the setting that other factions dont quite manage theyre also the good guys of the setting :D
Just stumbled upon your channel and have to say love the content, BF2 was my childhood and nothing to this day has beat the Galactic Conquest gameplay loop.
Honestly, Battefront 1 is *super unforgiving*, you don't have the neat little map, life pools *feel* smaller, and they even have 3-faction maps, like Naboo with the Gungans which have *no* supply limits but will still happily murder the shit out of you, especially if you're not on their 'traditional' side.
Ah yes, the landing craft. Notorious when fully loaded up for landing in the enemy hangar, getting out, but some guys staying inside so they take off again and crash. Found out that if you want everyone out, you have to take off and land about 3 times just to force everyone out.
One more left. The rebels. This looked pretty solid. Lots of fun strategies I use as well. - Utapau (above base 2) makes a solid sniper point for the long game. - Felicia's 6th base is always a good point to defeat the enemy when in a minority. Usually, there is an enemy vehicle waiting for you down below. It is also pretty funny to ride a CSI tank there (it is possible.) and just wait until they come climbing up). - I agree so much with Naboo. It is one of the worst maps of galactic conquest. Thus, the AI choosing to attack it every freakin time is not helping liking it. - The Spiderwalker 's design might be a little dumb, but these walkers are a menace. The wheel things though, they absolutely suck. There is a bug that they randomly exploded once you reach some parts of the map (I believe behind point 1 is one of those points). They are also very fragile, so the moment you used them there, I was kinda thinking you had sacrificed your run. - The Coruscant pincer is a nice strategy, but Coruscant has one of the best hero attacks possible. Spawn as Darth Maul as fast as possible, and you can kill around 20 to 25 clonetroopers in a single-run attack. It has the risk to kill you as well, but it is fun as heck. If you survive the push and claim their main base, they usually cap the library. Go down the stairs in the library, and just throw you lightsaber while covering back at the wall. Easy kills, and their reinforcement count just goes down so quickly. - CIS is absolutely broken as well. Their weapons are strong, their commander units are absolute beast (although the other one than the droidoka is a hit or miss guy, and I would personally not recommend him in a no death challenge). - The reason the CIS wins Yavin 4 easy is because the 4th base is earlier capped by the CIS, so they start with the early lead. A fun strategy for Yavin 4 (if you ever feel in the minority and have to clutch) is to cap the temple, take a tank, and drive it into the temple base. When the enemy comes to cap it, you just shoot them down. - Mygeeto is really fun with leader bonus. There is a tiny ledge at the end of the round circle where General Grievous can jump on, so that he can attack the high-positioned clone troopers and move his way to point 2. Ignore point 2 entirely, and move through the (I most of the time choose left) path to move to point 1. You cap point 1 with a bit of resistance, and the game is over in around 2 minutes. (because your allies most of the time captured 2 and 3 in the meantime.) Fond memories of this game. I am looking forward to watch your last challenge. Also, English is not my first language, so my apologies if there are any grammatical errors in here.
I haven't watched the whole video yet to see if you did it, but in case you didn't know, the magna guard's rocket pistol is also tracking, you have to use the lock on button to activate its tracking mode
The Droid gunship is the best ship in the whole game hands down the first battle I ever survived the whole battle in was exclusively in one that was probably 18 years ago now
I absolutely love this series. I may have never played battlefront 2 growing up, but I can just feel the love you have for this series and kind of reminds me of when I was a kid, just playing fallout 3 and screwing around in the subways completely lost, or playing oblivion for the first time and immediately getting out of the sewers and stealing a horse only to get immediately thrown into jail, but still have a ton of of fun.
Always bothered me that they used the super battle droid as the stock unit. It's supposed to be really hard to kill and hard to manufacture, B1s are the fodder the SBDs were feared killing machines though they lacked the ability to form tactics thus requiring either commander class droids or an organic commander
Problem is they wanted to include the new mana guard as the officer class and they didn't have room for a 3rd special like the B2. They should've given each faction a 3rd special but they were rushed as-is.
15:32 @TahtGuyPredz droidekas dont have ray shield they have deflector shields. If thay had ray shields the coudnt walk couse solid objects cant pass through ray shields
When i saw your first challenge i immediately played this campaign, droidekas “destroyers” are my favourite in both classic and new, even tho they kinda broken in new
The CIS aka the most busted faction. I have some fond memories showing friends why they are so busted. Even showing one friend you can go into every other ship other than the Belluba/Soulless One. Heck they even have the best ship in Droid Tri Fighter. Though it would be stupid to use in a challenge like this one wrong move and boom. I still want to know who thought it was a fine idea to make the Droideka as busted as it is. The only downside is explosives and being unable to call allies to you in the PC version. I have literally blocked the path to one Command Point with two other Droidekas and made my friends just give up. Lol. And one time one of my friends prematurely fired a rocket blowing himself and a few AI. Fun fact the Beam Rifle is argued to be the worst award weapon. And worse. It is buggy. It is supposed to shoot through multiple targets harming both but sometimes it does no damage to one and sometimes it doesn’t go through a target. Headshots now don’t always one shot anymore but body shots sometimes do? It is the reason I don’t get too good enough with the Sniper in this game.
The vibes on your videos are immaculate, the music and the editing flow together so well, that combined with the soothing sounds of Battlefront 2 makes for an excellent sensory experience while sleep deprived, thanks!
Don't doubt yourself - your videos style is cool. Besides, you use the original game, which is always a plus for a purst like myself. Fun fact: In BF1, the separatists get Droidekas from the very start, they don't need to be unlocked. And they are slightly deadlier than they are in BF2. Just imagine the fun you'll have when you get to this game, muahaha ;)
Yhe only reason the CIS lost was beause their true boss Palpatine made them loose, he fucked both the CIS and republic to build the empire of their ashes lmao
Mate, you are smashing these out. I think your next challenge is to do all 4 conquests back to back and restart the whole thing if you die in any of them. I made this comment 1 second in.. Should have watched just a little longer.
all hate on the beam rifle. so dont swap your weapons while being sniper class and jump in and back out on a command post if you do to switch it back...
Man. These videos take me back to when me and bro played galactic conquest split screen on ps 2... Had to reinstall today but its just not the same on pc as it was then, somehow
I watched the other 2 vids the other day whilst playing helldivers, watching a video about zero deaths, got me stressed when I’d died in helldivers 🤣 definitely earned a sub
I absolutely love this I hope you do a tutorial on how to get all the weird perks in the game. I’ve always wanted one cause I never know how but I absolutely love your videos on this.
GOD this is a blast from the past. Used to play Galactic Conquest ALL the time with my big sister, coordinating in the space battles to have one of us focusing on destroying the inside while the other watches our back or simply going on a Droideka massacre because they're fun as hell to roll around like an idiot.
i hear that SWTOR music sir, and i applaud your choice! I did a little testing for "Starter Only" and i think its possible if a bit hard; Starter Only - You may only use the starting units of each faction (Marine/Pilot), you may not purchase any additional units for your team, Leader Bonus is illegal but everything is fair game. the enemy, at least on my run, bought other soldiers very slowly so i wonder if the AI judges how fast to upgrade their diversity of units based on your diversity of units, so if you start "Starter Only" with the clones, prepare to watch those wrist rockets!
My favorite thing in star wars is the CIS I love that there both Saturday morning cartoon villains and a group of tricked people believing thare in the right.
Naboo is a good map (aside from the infamous corner) but the thing that makes me sick of it is the position it has on the galactic conquest map. It's positioned at a choke point, and the way the AI is coded makes it attack naboo incredibly often. It just gets tiring.
Still no Demolition or Technician medals awarded. The Rebels have an easy option for Demolition at the AT-AT neck. Hoping to see some of those other medals earned along the way.
My buddy and I used to refer to Naboo as "Viet-Namboo" and made a joke that they would attack Naboo so much specifically to get stuck in the corner. Good times.
And I did it all without a single 'Bacta Tanks' Bonus
No one can defeat battle droids!
no way! that’s my crutch!
Its not like they have any use for droids anyway (from logic perspective)
have you thought about doing something similar with the remake of battlefront??
Can droids even use bacta... doesn't it only work on organic beings? (BTW, the game explains this by saying that you're using "self-repairing droids" when you pick this bonus, and the stamina serum is explained as "advanced power cells")
you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain… now you are the wrist rockets
Watch those wrist rockets!

Super battle droids in BF2 : Wrist rocket spamm, cannon fodder
Super battle droids in Republic Commando : Near death experience
Wow that name brought back memories. Some of them were good. Most were painfull from how bad I was doing at the game.
Watch those wrist rockets!
I'm convinced there's a "catch up" mechanic involving the ai. You as the player can dominate and kill 75% of the enemy and still somehow lose because your ai Allys just kamikaze the enemy.
fun fact about kashyykk, in both eras, you can take a tank and go over the hill on the sides of the oil rig command post to totally bypass the wall.

The game is fairly quick, especially when you start getting the permanent bonuses.
@ruthlesace fair

i hear that SWTOR music sir, and i applaud your choice!
I did a little testing for "Starter Only" and i think its possible if a bit hard;
Starter Only - You may only use the starting units of each faction (Marine/Pilot), you may not purchase any additional units for your team, Leader Bonus is illegal but everything is fair game.
the enemy, at least on my run, bought other soldiers very slowly so i wonder if the AI judges how fast to upgrade their diversity of units based on your diversity of units, so if you start "Starter Only" with the clones, prepare to watch those wrist rockets!
THE WRIST ROCKETS REIGN SUPREME
starwars battlefront 2 conquest part 3 LETS GOOOOOO
Picked up the classic collection because of the first video and I can’t put this game down it’s so satisfying
Honey wake up, Predz just dropped another SWBF2 video
so happy to see this on my timeline, thank you o7
Oh algorithm, praised be thy wisdom!
Hat leaving this here to boost the video and will proceed to upvote every comment here.
the Jawas repair you!
But the question is, could you complete the campaign without dying? Some of those levels against Jedi enemies are frustrating.
Im loving this series, but it made me realize that i have never finished a galaxy conquest
i find your lack of a sniping montage on Kashyyyk disturbing
The music sync at 12:01 🤌
Have you tried utilizing the snipers auto turret? Having a second pair of guns can always help in a pinch.
Also as you level up and you get ai to follow you in a squad. Not sure how useful you night find that.
I remember being glued to this on my PSP when I wasn’t at home and playing non stop.
Finally, the good guys!
I'm surprised a new one is out so soon after the empire run, but I'm not gonna complain about getting enjoyable content 😊
God, this game brings back memories.... :') Remember spending my evenings with my brothers just taking turn seeing who would dominate the Galaxy!!!
When you’re done with battle front 2 I know battlefront 1 has galactic conquest id love to see you try those (great video btw)
My favorite thing in star wars is the CIS I love that there both Saturday morning cartoon villains and a group of tricked people believing thare in the right.
Finally! The CIS one I have been waiting for!
Naboo is a good map (aside from the infamous corner) but the thing that makes me sick of it is the position it has on the galactic conquest map. It's positioned at a choke point, and the way the AI is coded makes it attack naboo incredibly often. It just gets tiring.
EVERY FACTION BACK TO BACK DEATHLESS!!!
Also seriously bro, this series makes me so excited every time there's an upload.
Lol i left this coment before watching you say youre doing it in the video. FUCK YEAAA
This game was my childhood. I love it, and its jank so much.
Hey, another one! Just as I finished the others. Something tells me it’s going to be much easier than it was the first time
Adding in the runs that ended in death was a good call. it makes the video more enjoyable no knowing
I strongly agree with this, and appreciate when challenge runners do it.
Still no Demolition or Technician medals awarded. The Rebels have an easy option for Demolition at the AT-AT neck. Hoping to see some of those other medals earned along the way.
You can tell he’s having fun as the bad guys by the kind of people he keeps referencing
Strange that I had the first one pop up this morning and now you’ve released this!
Battlefront 1 Galactic conquest is slept on you should do that next
My buddy and I used to refer to Naboo as "Viet-Namboo" and made a joke that they would attack Naboo so much specifically to get stuck in the corner. Good times.
