I don't understand why they chose the Super Battle Droid as the 'stock' starting unit instead of a basic battle droid, always rubbed me the wrong way lmao. Great videos Predz! Can't wait for the next conquest!!!!
Funny part is there is at least one modder that agreed enough to make a mod replacing the standard unit with a stock B1 and the magna guard with the Super Battle Droid. Rebalanced ofc to fit in with the other "commander" type units.
My assumption is they didn’t expect anyone to want to play the basic wimpy B1 and needed some way to fit the Magna guard and Droideka in as special units. So they reused the B2 as the basic soldier, hence why it’s so vastly different from every other class.
Back in the day, it was pretty standard in Star Wars games to make everything around what just came out, make the new thing be on the cover so kids could see it and make their parents not only buy it, but other things that had it. Much like the old Clone Wars cartoon by Tatakovsky featured the B2 as the walls and masses of the Confederacy, Battlefront 2 was made between Episodes 2 and 3. BF2 even had some of the production resources of EP3 so they could model things (mostly) correctly. Thus Superbattle Droids and Magna Guards featured pretty prominently.
Reselecting sniper, while being sniper at a command post, equippes you with the og sniper rifle. Hate the beam one and figured it out once I was legendary with the marksman badge and every time I had to switch to my pistol, I was stuck with the beam rifle.
I find the best way to avoid that problem is to always go for body-shots. Not as lethal as aiming for the head, obviously, but still deadly, and one-shots most enemies with the War Hero bonus anyways. The real challenge with this is no-scoping. Oh yeah.
Ah yes, the landing craft. Notorious when fully loaded up for landing in the enemy hangar, getting out, but some guys staying inside so they take off again and crash. Found out that if you want everyone out, you have to take off and land about 3 times just to force everyone out.
@AndrewDailey-qm8dn yep that was always my cheat for space battles as the clones when I was a kid. take the landing craft, land in the enemy hanger, use the "get out" command and watch as an endless stream of clones caused chaos in the enemy hanger stopping them from taking off.
@@Lakita2880 doesn't work with troop carriers like the LAAT, etc. 1 bot will always refuse to exit the vehicle so you end up having to take off and land again till the vehicle is empty.
I'm convinced there's a "catch up" mechanic involving the ai. You as the player can dominate and kill 75% of the enemy and still somehow lose because your ai Allys just kamikaze the enemy.
I think it's the other way around where the AIs get nerfed based on how many players are on a team since this game was built for split screen multiplayer.
Useless fun fact, you can play a droideka to go bowling. If you "sprint" while in ball form, you get WAY more speed, and you can use that speed to deal damage while rolling into someone. Damages the both of you, but throws them into the air. Go for the bowling ball strat sometime.
29:01 That right there may be my favorite little thing in SWBF2. It's such a little thing, but seeing an ai engi waddle towards you and drop some ammo is a thing that tickles me. I'm not sure why
I think these videos did well for 3 (at least) reasons: 1) You picked a good game, regardless of the time it was made. 2) You stuck with a challenge. Ultimately, we watch your content to see how or sometimes even if you overcome a challenge. 3) This particular game had a way to be episodic, which is good for setting a clear video length. It's a bit different, but I'd love to watch some challenge runs of something like Dark Cloud 1 or 2, or Kingdom Hearts 1 or 2.
I played this game a lot as a kid, and even before I had any concept of balancing, I realized quickly that CIS are just busted lol. Other units in other factions have a good primary, a secondary pistol is mostly used as last resort, or if you need to finish off the enemy when the primary needs reloading. Here comes super battle droid though, who gets to have a decent primary, a fucking shotgun as secondary with infinite ammo (and it's not even weak at all, will easily one-shot many units), and wrist rockets (they do have a weak splash damage, yes, you should be aiming directly with them). On top of all that, he's a base unit, even though he could easily qualify as a special one, like droideka. No wonder Republic loses most of the time if you leave the AI on their own (this probably depends on the map, sometimes Republic manages to secure a win, most times gets steamrolled). I played with bots exclusively though, sadly never got a chance to play with real players, so I don't know how the matchups between actual players go. Edit: 23:16 were they trying to defuse that? What was that about lmao
in my experience, republic wins more online matches. thats only in like 80 hours of gameplay on steam, but thats my experience. clone commander's rally makes it take double the amount of shots to kill a player, making small groups of clones with rally buff just unstoppable when pushing. jet trooper is nothing to scoff at either, and the rest of the classes are solid too.
*from experience*, I think that each faction has a 'pool' of favored bonuses they pull from thematic to the faction you are fighting, so the CIS grabs things like Energy Boost and Supplies, to represent that they tend to rely on overwhelming *material* superiority, while the Republic favors Garrison to represent that their clone forces tended to be much more concentrated than the CIS's. I think Hero bonuses are specifically left *out* of the pools, at least temporarily, to represent that the heroes emerged onto the battlefield later on in the fight, but the AI never grabs them because they favor filling their bonuses out with their *faction-specific* pool, then grabbing all their units, *then* grabbing the expensive bonuses.
that's really cool immersion work from the devs! I hope more games consider the philosophy of their factions(or characters) when designing game play elements.
Geonosis tip: in the spider walker, if you use the laser attack at the right spot on the AT-TE (aim where the turret controller sits) you can chain kill multiple clone troopers as they jump in the place of the dead one.
Honestly, Battefront 1 is *super unforgiving*, you don't have the neat little map, life pools *feel* smaller, and they even have 3-faction maps, like Naboo with the Gungans which have *no* supply limits but will still happily murder the shit out of you, especially if you're not on their 'traditional' side.

Little known fact: The "tank man" was not run over by the tanks. That's just propaganda. He climbed on top and spoke with the tank commander for a few minutes before jumping off and walking away.
29:41 I don't think I've ever used the droid sniper in first person mode, so I never noticed the little moving red bar on the side of the rifle before this video! Cool little detail on the model that probably goes underappreciated! Loving the series!
In the life support room of the ships, if you blow up the stations that are in there they count towards your kill/reinforcement counter in the mission.
i hear that SWTOR music sir, and i applaud your choice! I did a little testing for "Starter Only" and i think its possible if a bit hard; Starter Only - You may only use the starting units of each faction (Marine/Pilot), you may not purchase any additional units for your team, Leader Bonus is illegal but everything is fair game. the enemy, at least on my run, bought other soldiers very slowly so i wonder if the AI judges how fast to upgrade their diversity of units based on your diversity of units, so if you start "Starter Only" with the clones, prepare to watch those wrist rockets!
starter class only makes the game go by much MUCH faster. without the dumb ai engineers trying to repair every turret, rocket troops only using their pistols, etc. with only the assault class unlocked, your team absolutely shreds quickly.
Also, I would say that this series is doing well because of 3 things. 1: Older game that everyone who likes it probably loves it. 2: A nice change of pace from slower games like Zomboid. 3: Genuinely good content with good editing, these episodes are condensed very well and don't drag.

Insane childhood nostalgia with these playthroughs! I never owned Battlefront 2 but i remember visiting a friend of my family in the 2000's and their kids had this on the ps2. Let's say we played this game for 7 hours straight every time we visited, it pissed off my parents so much that next time we weren't allowed to play and were kicked outside to play football. It was probably for the better lol

One more left. The rebels. This looked pretty solid. Lots of fun strategies I use as well. - Utapau (above base 2) makes a solid sniper point for the long game. - Felicia's 6th base is always a good point to defeat the enemy when in a minority. Usually, there is an enemy vehicle waiting for you down below. It is also pretty funny to ride a CSI tank there (it is possible.) and just wait until they come climbing up). - I agree so much with Naboo. It is one of the worst maps of galactic conquest. Thus, the AI choosing to attack it every freakin time is not helping liking it. - The Spiderwalker 's design might be a little dumb, but these walkers are a menace. The wheel things though, they absolutely suck. There is a bug that they randomly exploded once you reach some parts of the map (I believe behind point 1 is one of those points). They are also very fragile, so the moment you used them there, I was kinda thinking you had sacrificed your run. - The Coruscant pincer is a nice strategy, but Coruscant has one of the best hero attacks possible. Spawn as Darth Maul as fast as possible, and you can kill around 20 to 25 clonetroopers in a single-run attack. It has the risk to kill you as well, but it is fun as heck. If you survive the push and claim their main base, they usually cap the library. Go down the stairs in the library, and just throw you lightsaber while covering back at the wall. Easy kills, and their reinforcement count just goes down so quickly. - CIS is absolutely broken as well. Their weapons are strong, their commander units are absolute beast (although the other one than the droidoka is a hit or miss guy, and I would personally not recommend him in a no death challenge). - The reason the CIS wins Yavin 4 easy is because the 4th base is earlier capped by the CIS, so they start with the early lead. A fun strategy for Yavin 4 (if you ever feel in the minority and have to clutch) is to cap the temple, take a tank, and drive it into the temple base. When the enemy comes to cap it, you just shoot them down. - Mygeeto is really fun with leader bonus. There is a tiny ledge at the end of the round circle where General Grievous can jump on, so that he can attack the high-positioned clone troopers and move his way to point 2. Ignore point 2 entirely, and move through the (I most of the time choose left) path to move to point 1. You cap point 1 with a bit of resistance, and the game is over in around 2 minutes. (because your allies most of the time captured 2 and 3 in the meantime.) Fond memories of this game. I am looking forward to watch your last challenge. Also, English is not my first language, so my apologies if there are any grammatical errors in here.
I stumbled upon one of the first of your BF2 videos. It made me find, install, complete campaign and all 4 galactic conquest. It was good fun, thank you man
Don't doubt yourself - your videos style is cool. Besides, you use the original game, which is always a plus for a purst like myself. Fun fact: In BF1, the separatists get Droidekas from the very start, they don't need to be unlocked. And they are slightly deadlier than they are in BF2. Just imagine the fun you'll have when you get to this game, muahaha ;)
I have to say, while i played a LOT of battlefront 2 growing up, by far my favorite moment was on Rhen Var Citadel. I was pretty much single handily destroying the computer as a marksman, with no deaths, and i remember we reduced them to the last command post and i stopped aiming to go to a new position just in time to see a wrist rocket heading straight for my head. I managed to get out a "Well shi-" before i blew up. Nothing amazing, but the comedic timing of it always stuck with me.
I love these, I remember playing as a droidekia on Polis Massa and pushing down the middle funnest time i had on battlefront 2. Also it's my head canon that your B1 has a super tactical droid brain and can control B2s and Droidekas
The separatists were always my favorite faction in this game. Their default class is by far the most fun, both the Magna guard and the droideka are fun and unique, their heroes are all really satisfying (with the exception of unfinished dooku).

14:18 JEEZ DUDE RELAX!
I know holy shit i did a double take
Veeeery out of pocket
Little known fact: The "tank man" was not run over by the tanks. That's just propaganda. He climbed on top and spoke with the tank commander for a few minutes before jumping off and walking away.
That was funny
It's a joke. I found it funny.
Awesome dude! Another Golden No Death Video. You know what? You unearthed so many memories of my own Battlefront 2 days, that I just Subbed right now.
3:21 Similar Opinion detected. Respect administered.
29:41 I don't think I've ever used the droid sniper in first person mode, so I never noticed the little moving red bar on the side of the rifle before this video! Cool little detail on the model that probably goes underappreciated!
Loving the series!
Shoulda done the leader bonus on Corusant, you get Darth Maul. And for Mustafar as the Empire you get Anakin Skywalker who tears shit up on that map.
Love these videos man. Brings me back truly. Glad you're enjoying it too.
the Jawas repair you!
In the life support room of the ships, if you blow up the stations that are in there they count towards your kill/reinforcement counter in the mission.
A strategy I tend to employ for galactic conquest is just to park a ship on nabu, because it's a central planet, the enemy loves to target it
Another good playthrough. Looking forward to the legendary rebel playthrough
i hear that SWTOR music sir, and i applaud your choice!
I did a little testing for "Starter Only" and i think its possible if a bit hard;
Starter Only - You may only use the starting units of each faction (Marine/Pilot), you may not purchase any additional units for your team, Leader Bonus is illegal but everything is fair game.
the enemy, at least on my run, bought other soldiers very slowly so i wonder if the AI judges how fast to upgrade their diversity of units based on your diversity of units, so if you start "Starter Only" with the clones, prepare to watch those wrist rockets!
starter class only makes the game go by much MUCH faster. without the dumb ai engineers trying to repair every turret, rocket troops only using their pistols, etc.
with only the assault class unlocked, your team absolutely shreds quickly.
Also, I would say that this series is doing well because of 3 things.
1: Older game that everyone who likes it probably loves it.
2: A nice change of pace from slower games like Zomboid.
3: Genuinely good content with good editing, these episodes are condensed very well and don't drag.
Just stumbled upon your channel and have to say love the content, BF2 was my childhood and nothing to this day has beat the Galactic Conquest gameplay loop.
Damn great video. To prevent some of your deaths don't forget to reload during downtimes.
Loving these! Keep up the awsome work!
23:15, epic moment of a time bomb pasting a bunch clone pilots. Truly awesome.
Love this content a lot man cheers
so happy to see this on my timeline, thank you o7
14:19
Clone commander: B2, get out of the tank!
B2: I'm literally in a tank and you're not!
I absolutely love this I hope you do a tutorial on how to get all the weird perks in the game. I’ve always wanted one cause I never know how but I absolutely love your videos on this.
Great series dude, loving each one. Keep it up. Really glad i found your channel
Finally! The CIS one I have been waiting for!
I really like the music choice in this one! It feels more fitting than the last two!
Hell yeah, man! So glad you're having success with Battfront 2! I can't emphasize enough how much of a cornerstone this game was for that era of my life, & I'm glad we both have similar memories with the og titles
Your series actually inspired me to pick this game back up for a GC and I was most looking forward to your CIS video, I actually just finished my own GC yesterday night and I honestly found the CIS to be my personal favorite faction in the game. Loved the video! 💜
These are great! Can’t wait to see more bf2 content!
This is my first video from this series and the nostalgia I get from watching it is immense. It’s truly a pleasure to see you play Battlefront 2.
Man. These videos take me back to when me and bro played galactic conquest split screen on ps 2...
Had to reinstall today but its just not the same on pc as it was then, somehow
God, this game brings back memories.... :') Remember spending my evenings with my brothers just taking turn seeing who would dominate the Galaxy!!!
I'm glad this is doing well. its unique for this game and over all. sure theres other things like it but this is yours and you did it your way. Also i like the full screen
I watched the other 2 vids the other day whilst playing helldivers, watching a video about zero deaths, got me stressed when I’d died in helldivers 🤣 definitely earned a sub
(because your allies most of the time captured 2 and 3 in the meantime.)
Fond memories of this game. I am looking forward to watch your last challenge. Also, English is not my first language, so my apologies if there are any grammatical errors in here.
I stumbled upon one of the first of your BF2 videos.
It made me find, install, complete campaign and all 4 galactic conquest. It was good fun, thank you man
27:38
I swear i have died more times while trying to use those things, than in the middle of the battlefield
Strange that I had the first one pop up this morning and now you’ve released this!
Depending how much you like the source material, seeing you "one life" the Avatar (blue people) conquest would be pretty lit.
Fun fact: the bulldog pistol (magma guard) can home in on clones the same way starfighter missiles do
2:09 Are we still talking about SWBF2 here? 🤨😂
Non-hangar spamming space battles? You love to see it.
I hope this series will sling you farther in your sub counts I enjoy these videos and very interesting in what else you'll make
17:05 very cool to watch 2 droidekas fighting together
As a kid I used to love the Magna guard. He's still pretty cool now.
Wrist those rock watchets!
Not sure if you’ve ever noticed but you can sometimes hear Vader breathing on Dagobah in that underground spot
Love these vids! One thing I love about the magnaguard is your missiles track your targets if you select them first.
This is genuinely one of the most enjoyable series of videos I’ve watched on UA-cam. Well done mate!
Great video. Thanks for using my suggestion on the music! Hearing the SWTOR soundtrack brings back good memories.
Oh algorithm, praised be thy wisdom!
Hat leaving this here to boost the video and will proceed to upvote every comment here.
I did not know you could fit the tank droids through that door on Kashyyyk. I always go up the hill and around instead. Another great video. Love reminiscing with you on this classic game!
Another awesome video of the awesome series. Will try to catch you on stream!
27:41 😂if its ever a losing fight, just end a run by leaping off
