The first property you were pruning at was beautiful too! I can imagine that pergola is absolutely gorgeous when the Wisteria is in full bloom! Wow, I can't imagine pruning that. Glad you survived!!
I at that point to wonder if it’s worth any amount of money to prune a large project like that. At first your like yeah I’ll do that. Then you start to see how hard it is and think like Wow! What was I thinking lol. I’d love to help people design but that work involved. Of course you will do it for your own garden right!!😊
It was for a client and they really wanted to keep it. They bought the house and inherited this crazy thing and just wanted it manageable. So this particular day I was feeling sassy and thought oh I can do this...so I was determined to honor my word and help my client but never again. I learned such a valuable lesson that day. :-) Designing and getting out and doing some work from time to time are good for my soul :-)
I just got new fiskar pruners from Lowes. With these new pruners and my loppers, I pruned a 20-year old wisteria on a fence. It was a tangled mess. I sort of had the attitude, I might just take it out altogether so it was severely pruned. Now, it does have new growth spouting in 3 places and I need to see if I can manage to turn it in to something beautiful. It has burgundy flowers. I have wisteria pruning empathy.

Oh goodness
It takes me forever to prune my shrubs and I'm not done. Definitely is more than a one day or one weekend project. You're a hard worker
Yea it’s tough isn’t it.
