- Опубліковано 24 лют 2021
- In some situations in English, it can be difficult to decide whether to use a plural or singular verb. Even native speakers get confused in these situations. In this grammar lesson, we will learn how to match subjects and verbs. I’ll also talk about some of the nuances here: sometimes it’s better to change the sentence entirely. Make sure you understood the lesson by taking the quiz here: www.engvid.com/there-is-or-th...

The best teacher of English is Adam . thank you for helping me learn English
It's my first video of yours . You are great teacher. I don't have any doubt now
Thank you for this! Now I feel more confident with my writing because I do get trouble sometimes with is and are when the subject comes later in the sentence. I’m confused about what should I properly use 😬
There are good points in the video when teachers differentiate common and written English 👏
Very helpful lesson , thanks a bunch!
Thank you so much Adam 🙌🏻

I’m taking my SAT tomorrow, and with the help of your video and others, I feel incredibly confident!!! Here’s to getting a high score!✨✨✨🤍
What is your score?
@@rishikkeshsuresh3692 My score was a 1070. Honestly not the best at all😭
But I would say that the video still helped. I only started studying a month before the exam, so I believe that if I gave myself more time and did a lot more practice questions I would’ve done better. Butttt, the grammar section of my test was the strongest (again this video helped).
@@ashdavis3131 don't worry bro, you did well, you will get good marks if you try again.
Great explanation! Thank you.
Thank you teacher. Have a nice day. From Thailand.
Hi Adam, how's it going ?, nice greeting you again, that was an excellent and very educational video lesson because it helped me to clear up a few doubts I had about these types of pronouns and I can see that I wasn't wrong in some structures but I realized that I've been making a mistake every time I speak and use these words or expressions but I won't make it again thanks to your explanation so I thank you very much for this video lesson.
Amazing, thanks for the classes :)
Adam, thanks, it was great as usual!
by the way, we (I mean our university lol) use "formal introductory subject" instead of "preparatory subject" when talking about 'there'
Adam thanks for sharing your knowledge with US, 💖✨🌟✨

It was another benefits lesson. Big thanks.
adam sir i started watching ur videos since 3-4 days.....i have become a fan of yours...can u pls make a video on how we identify each and every parts of speech from a sentence....pls pls pls sir make a video on this....my humble rqst......
Adam is my fav teacher.. the BEST!
You're the best teacher.
Thank you, dear. I sometimes hear my colleague say there is...and I think of there are..and I knew I was right. Thanks
Great video. i think, for the first example, the reason we would say (is). Is because although there are three objects, they are single items.
If you make it, chairs, table, and a TV. We would say, (are).
The English logic is that if you make any part of the sentence plural, we will say {are). if all is singular, no matter the number of individual items, then we say (is).
Thank you so much! you're great
Thanks, it explained every doubts
Thank for the lesson
Nice to see you again!
Teacher Adam
You could make us a lesson about the difference between present perfect and present perfect continuous, could you?
The best teacher for me
It‘s really helpful.👍
Thkx very much for Ur explication
There is a great teacher in this video! 😉
Very useful lesson 👍🏻
Practical as ever👌
This area , as you've already mentioned Mr. Adam, might be a source of confusion for many English learners( even advanced ones ).
Talking about that, I've got one question, please:
●When it comes to the quantifier♡ALL♡, wouldn't be possible to use a singular verb with it???
For instance, if we say:
▪All coffee has been drunk.▪
Or
▪ All furniture is sold in this shop.▪
I mean can't we use a non-count noun after ALL and then follow it by a singular verb???
Thanks in advance ❤
Thanks a lot!
It was very helpful.
Thank you 🙏
Thank you!!
Sir thank you very much. Now the concept is clearer than my previous thought and observations about it. I am a subscriber of your channel. Your teaching is really good. I am from India. With regards...
Sam.
