I'm a 72 year old British man, and I always get confused which one to use, but this video has helped me a lot, I understood about 'There' meaning a place, but confused with using 'Their' in the right situation, hopefully now I will use the correct one in the future.....Thank you.
This is an excellent video that helped my 9 year old finally get these homonyms down. The best part is towards the end where you do the "does the word work here" and show examples, to make the learner really think about it. Then, he was able to get all 8 fill in the blank questions correct. Awesome, thank you for sharing this video!
Thank you SO MUCH for letting my wife and I know. We LOVE hearing how we have been able to help others in some way. It is one of our main motivations for our channel.
As someone who was born in the US and has English as my first language, we messed the differences up so bad on an essay that our teacher assigned us this video, Good video! My classmates really learnt! Haha.
I got 7/8 of the quiz and the mistake I made was, the last one on the same lines. 8, Their parents are sitting there. Instead there I chose here. Thank you so much, Rob.🩵
Hello Mr. Woodward. I have a question for you related to there is and there are. In the following sentence should we use is or are after there : There is /are coffee, tea and some juice to drink. I would be glad if you could clarify it please.
I already have a half-finished video about that. I haven't finished it because the last part is boring to work on... too much grammar. I will definitely upload that video before the end of year as I need it for a livestream I plan to do.

Hello. At about 11:00, you say "they're cars" sounds wrong. I disagree. If I asked you: "What type of vehicle is the Toyota Corolla and the Honda Civic?", could you not answer me "They're cars."?

Thank You!! I've got one question, please: They're reading their books OVER THERE = They're reading their books THERE?
It is more or less the same, however OVER THERE is often a little more distance away from you. (further away)
@@WoodwardEnglish Is 'There' further away?
@@WoodwardEnglish I'm sorry, Over there is Father and There is Further?
@@Larissa-Vegan the 'over' signifies the extra distance

If I asked you: "What type of vehicle is the Toyota Corolla and the Honda Civic?", could you not answer me "They're cars."?
Yes, in that almost never used situation, you could use it, but how often do you ask a question like that? The question sounds weird (as in rare)

They're cars sounds completely normal, e.g. 'What are they?' 'They're cars, they're not toys'.

Thanks so much
