    The ac compressor model number is 4711361 from desko. It is the OE manufacture that Toyota used for the 01-05 model years for the is300

    Hey, love these videos, thank you so much! I appreciate the step by step full detail -- that feels rare since I'm sure it's an incredible amount of work for you.
    Would you ever consider doing a power steering video like this? I've got my pump/pulley off of my SC300 but am not sure how to replace the lines. Wondering if you could help me figure out how to get to those lines? I think the power steering o-rings are a common problem on these cars anyway, maybe others could find a full power steering system replacement video helpful?
    Either way, thanks again for all these videos! I'm doing my first project car and this is all so clear and well-paced, and will help me tremendously!

      I would love to help you out. Unfortunately all my videos are based on customer cars. No one has brought me a SC300 to work on just yet and I am not sure if one will pop up in the near future.
      If your lines are leaking, then you should be able to locate the leak and replace the line. They usually aren’t too difficult. More time consuming because of the extra clamps that hold them to the body

    Literally just got done changing mine. Big thank you for the tutorial! One question though, I haven’t gotten the recharge yet but when I started the vehicle and took it for a spin, there was a loud squealing noise when I accelerated. Is that due to the new compressor not having any refrigerant?

    Excellent video - thanks for sharing. After replacing the compressor, should the system to flushed and vacuumed and should the new compressor be isolated to not contaminate?

    • @HelpingHandAutoRepair
      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  Місяць тому

      Just have the ac shop do a vacuum test and then recharge the system m.

    Do you have to add oil to the compressor before installing it or does the denso oe one already come with oil ?

    • @HelpingHandAutoRepair
      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  2 роки тому

      I didn’t check. They are normally marked with big stickers that have instructions on them. Cars I do ac work on, I bring to my buddies shop and he drains and refills whatever is in the system so we both know it has the correct amount of oil.

    Did you recharge the system yourself? Looking for the freon and oil specs. Having a hard time finding that information.

    Hi HHA, I watched a older video of yours. ( Bleeding BMW Radiator)
    I have 2004 x3 2.5i. I replaced Thermostat & Radiator. Put coolant in. Then drove car. Should I use the same method of Bleeding? Even though I drove car first?

    • @HelpingHandAutoRepair
      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  2 роки тому +1

      You would just want to let the car cool down until it’s cold. Then you can use the same method. It should work just fine.

    You bought a denso compressor, now did it come prefilled with oil? If so, did you drain the oil first or did you just installed it as it is?

    • @HelpingHandAutoRepair
      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  2 роки тому

      Not sure if it did or not. I never trust if they do or not. I always vacuum the system and refill with the correct amount of oil. This is done on a proper AC machine. If you’re unsure, call the manufacturer of the compressor or the company.

      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  Рік тому +1

      I believe it is down below the battery area. Pretty low down the firewall area. I know these clog up and cause the floor to be wet and smell.

    You think it's necessary to get the system cleaned even if you've had a catastrophic leak?

    • @HelpingHandAutoRepair
      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  2 роки тому

      Yes. There is a good chance that there is lots of debris in the system.

      This is a customer’s car. They brought me a compressor. I would check Amazon. An OE Denso compressor would be ideal.
