Comp Lane in Reaper. Should you stop using Takes?

Still wondering if you should stick with Takes or Lanes.
Actions:
- Item: Split at previous zero crossing
- Item: Split item under mouse cursor (select left)
- Item: Remove all empty takes
- Take: Explode takes on selected tracks to fixed lanes and add comp areas from active takes
- Item properties: Lock to active take (mouse click will not change active take)
- Move comp area at mouse down, or switch items to next take
- Options: Show all takes (when room)
- Show / Play Only Lane
- Move Items Up To Minimize Usage
