  • Ariella Thornhill sits down with Adolph Reed Jr. to discuss his new book The South: Jim Crow and Its Afterlives. Reed outlines that his goal is not to narrate individual trauma but rather to see how personal experience and memory can spark insight into broader structures of history.

Adolph Reed tha GOAT. I wish these interviews ended with specific calls to action, even if it's not the intended purpose of the conversation. I always am left feeling like "okay this all makes sense but now what can I do?" Ultimately, the Marxist/Socialist/Leftist project is praxis, to apply these theories for the betterment of mankind.
