This was truly a shelling paradise ! I love all the alphabet cones so much and all the treasures Kice shared with you ! Every Sunday evenings with you is my happy time ! ❤️🏖️🐚🦀
Kice Kice baby. This place is the BEST. Never disappoints. And I really do go with Karma. You care for the critters putting them in the water and then get rewarded with empty beautiful shells. Lovely video as always. Stay safe, looking forward to part 2 xx
I'm with you - Kice has NEVER disappointed me. I can actually only think of one beach trip that was a real disappointment. I still got to see a cool critter though. 😃 It seems there is always something to admire on my beach trips! ❤️
Good evening, Beach Angel, so nice you got to Kice! I really have begun to love the colorful moon snails! Their patterns are so pretty! Jingles make nice wind chimes! Those are so lovely! Oh! A live cone could really hurt you! I'm glad you put the cone back! You got a reward from the sea for your kindness! I wonder if the wind kicked up waves that brought in all the live animals in their shells. Oops, you picked up the jewel boxes and missed a live fighting conch that was really stranded and needed you. Some gull will have a nice lunch, I guess. Cones, cones, cones! That white fighting conch was waiting just for you! That's a great idea about the live critters! Beautiful colorful moon snail! Is that a nerite under the bowl at about four o'clock? I don't know if they occur there or not. Yeah, the live comes can put a nasty sting on you if they're alive. I'd really be careful on the may be alive ones, because, if they feel threatened, they can fire that harpoon in a split second! A big, old true tulip as your reward for helping the conchs. Good on you for helping so many critters! Awesome haul of shells today! I hope you either had your old bag repaired or you had received your new bag. So great to see you experiencing such a Treasury of shells. You deserve it! Love to all the other beach lovers from the beautiful Smoky Mountains! The Lost Mermaid
I need to get my kayak over to Kice so I can spend the day there and not feel rushed! I too was amazed at how many other little shells were in the background of the shells I was picking up. There was just so much and it can be overwhelming - not in a bad way for sure! We do have nerites here, but I think they are mostly on the East coast as I have yet to find one over here in SWFL. And I did receive my new bag - it is beautiful but it doesn't really work for me so I'll be sure to share as it may work for others. I'm kind of particular as I "work" when I'm on the beach and I have my camera in one hand and my bag slung over my shoulder and I like it to hang a certain way. The one I got is pretty stiff so I'm going to keep trying different things. I don't have the perfect beach shoes yet either if you can believe that! I hope you have a great week Mermaid! ❤️❤️❤️
I think it is so neat to see the live calico scallops opening and shutting their shell. A lot of awesome shell finds. So much different shells. Love it!
So fun to see all the live critters. As much as I love finding a beautiful keeper shell, I really enjoy seeing the animals in their natural habitat living their best lives. They’re so interesting. I love that you think about gratitude during the “beach time”. I have been doing intentional gratitude and meditation for the past year or so and it has really made a difference in the way I see life. Just finding little things to appreciate can make such a huge difference in perspective and the way we view ourselves and those around us.
Wonderfully spoken. I began doing that, too, in 1980, keeping a gratitude journal to help me through rough times, and it worked. I hadn’t heard of anyone doing that in list form, other than my church leaders encouraging doing it, but weirdly, years later, a talk show host started promoting doing that, and that was pretty validating to me that the Spirit moves our hearts to better perspective and healing when we are truly grateful. The beach is a healing place for so many reasons. I wish I could live closer to it. I would already be relocated to Florida if a my husband weren’t seriously dragging his feet, lol.
At least several times during my time at the beach, I think about how lucky I am to get to do the things I do. My proximity to these places, the fact I am healthy enough to do what I do. I am SO grateful for all that I have 🙏🏼 And I too love seeing the critters, dare I say as much as I enjoy finding the shells!
@@Gasp7000 I’m 7 hours land-locked in any direction. 4 states away and 2&1/2 days drive from all the Florida beaches that I love. I do occasionally get to visit or at least get down to my favorite Texas beaches, but where I live is where I need to be for my children. I’m absolutely grateful for the wonderful special education they receive from their schools here, so I just enjoy the beach here on UA-cam when I can’t get the real thing. I’m so incredibly thankful for Sharmon and several others that I regularly watch. I’m convinced that I was a mermaid in another life! Ha! The beach really is healing for me as you mentioned. I do hope that you get to move there soon! Best wishes for you!
Hi Sharmon! This video just made my week! Kice is my absolute favorite and this trip with you was WOW! If I find half as many gorgeous Alphabets, FL cones and gaudy's as you did my next trip I will be in shell heaven!! I just have to watch this over and over. It's so much like being there for real. Thank you so much for sharing your shell life with us! That makes you pretty special in my book! Have a great week!😊😚💞Hugs!
Just booked my first shelling tour to KICE after watching this. Going next weekend. Been in SWFL since December and have visited many of the beaches to go shelling based on your recommendations. I am so excited. Thank you for the inspiration, education and enthusiasm. I love my new hobby studying shells.
Unbelievable the number of Alphabet Cones. There must be a huge colony offshore. I couldn't believe you didn't get the very large Sunray Venus right next to your hand at 15:53. It was beautiful.
Bounty on the island!!! I can't even stand it!!! All those live spiny jewelboxes have you to thank for their added existence! So beauriful!! All of the treasures of Kice!!! Phenomenal
I just returned from my first visit to SWF, we stayed on Marco Island. I can't thank you enough for all your fantastic video's!! Because of you, I was able to identify and name so many shells 😁 I took an excursion to Dickman and Morgan Islands, and had the most incredible time shelling Everytime I picked up a Florida Fighting Conch, I thought of you!!🥰
* Love the huge Moon Snail, so pretty & Big.. There were so many fabulous shells.. Thank you for taking bowl to show us the Colorful Moon Snail coming out to feed.. Thanks for all your teaching.. There were several Small Angel Wings while you were showing the clams trying to move..
I love all your videos, I have depression, anxiety, panic attacks (especially at night) and insomnia, your videos relax me and help me sleep, thank you so much! I have a question, aren't the cones poisonous?
The cones are poisonous, however the ones we have here in the US aren't as crazy deadly as the ones in Australia. Our might give you a little sting but at least you won't end up in the hospital!
Thank you for another great video! I don't know how you do it....the shell gods are definitely your close friends. We just returned from our trip to Marco Island which included a trip to Kice. We didn't find one Alphabet Cone and you got dozens! Yes, we're insanely jealous, but we are very happy for you and your phenomenal success. Shell hunting is SO addictive, that we'll probably keep trying to find the great treasures that you thrill us with. Thank you also for filming the live scallops doing their thing. Very interesting!
I got really lucky but getting offered a ride on that particular day. I knew the shelling was going to be epic. Since I live here, it's a whole lot easier to plan those high wind outings! You are so right about shelling being addictive. I know when I pick up a seashell there will never be another one exactly like it so to keep or not to keep - that is the question 🤣 I may use that in a future video...
JACKPOT ! EPIC ! Amazing wonderful finds today. Loved this, and I am soooo jealous ! Keep it coming and can't wait for part 2 of Kice Island shell hunt. ❤
I love your videos so much.. I love how you get excited with every find! Everytime you go to grab a shell I like to see what’s around it.. so many pretty lightning whelks you missed!!!
A live alphabet cone and colorful moon snail! Yay! You sure did get to collect MANY of their pretty shells, too! Looked like a great day! Now where is that junonia ?
This week, I'm with my son and grandson at Garden City Beach, SC. Haven't found much so far but a few coquinas and some beige shells resembling cardidas. Beach is really crowded. But it is still so soothing to be here!
Wonderful shelling, love the critters and this island is amazing, the true tulips are beautiful and what a load on the cones, thank you for sharing, one day I will visit this island!!
Btw I just added 2 pics of myself when I was a Lil beachcomber in Alaska the first 21 years of my life b4 my car accident left me in a wheelchair. You take me back to my happy days. I'm just scared of crushing the gorgeous shells under my wheels.
This was a fantastic shelling day. As you reached for your choice of shells, I spotted several spikey jewel box shells snapping shut. Very cool! I love the flat scallop shells and the fact that they come in different colors and patterns. Thanks for another great video. 🐚🐌🌻🐕🥰
Evelyn that's amazing! Those wentletraps are such delicate beautiful shells. I'm so happy you were able to find a few yourself to add to your collection!
Be careful those alphabet cones i brought home in October were very very stinky it took everything to kill the smell love that you found an angel wing will be there in 40 days hopefully i will find at least one loved that you showed the nautica snail alive never got to see one awesome
What a great day for Alphabet Cones! But those big ‘old Pear Whelks were stunning. I really enjoyed this virtual visit to Kice Island, thanks for always providing such wonderful content.
At 7:32 you’re picking up a nutmeg, do you know what the hinged ovalish/oblong shell to the right is? It looks like an arc with that straight hinge but the shape is new to me, it seems shallower than a ponderous arc. Great shelling day for you!
That is most likely a hinged transverse arc. Since they are SO common I don't typically spend all that much time on the arcs. That being said, we'll probably become experts this summer when there isn't much else around!

What an incredible shelling trip!!! Loved the live scallops, of course the alphabets and all the live critters you rescued. Such a yreat to join you every week. Thanks so much.

Watching you has sparked a desire in me to start shelling myself! I'm learning a lot Watching you! Very informative and enjoyable!🐚🪸🐚🪸
I have not been to Fort Desoto but I would like to spend some time up in that area and check out more of the beaches. I'll be sure to add Fort Desoto to the list!
I am incredibly jealous of your life!!! ( in the nicest way possible ). Lol. I have not been to my beloved Sanibel since 2015!!! I am dying inside. Thank you so very much for your videos. I do not comment much but I pretty much watch ALL of them
@@SWFBeachLife I am sure you do put in a lot of work and not everything is strolling the beach finding treasures. I have never tried to record a video for YT or edited a video. I imagine that alone takes tons of time and then earning money to pay bills and housework on top of that…do you sleep??? Lol Much appreciated once again what you do for us
Hi. I was watching this video and I wanted to alert you that at 22:14 of your video you were putting the spiny jewel box back next to what I believe is my favorite snail and shell, the flamingo tongue snail. It is a kind of butterscotch tan with fancy spots or pattern on the snail which lives on the outside of the shell. I was unaware you could find this on the gulf as I used to live on the Atlantic Side and would find the shell only with what is called the “fat man’s belt”. I was able to see live ones living on sea fans in the Caribbean, Puerto and USVI when I was snorkeling. I thought it was very cool that you have a live Flamingo Tongue Snail in your video on the Gulf side. Very cool! 😊
I WISH that had been a flamingo tongue! I have not found one myself and for the most part you're going to find them on the East Coast. You saw the carapace of a calico box crab. Their shells are quite pretty 😃
Makes me realize that I want my next trip to Kice is in the early morning, although the afternoon isn't bad either! And that dark nutmeg.... OMG!!! Thank you Sharmon for sharing with us.... I'm still detoxing from my Florida vacation. Shelling is easily an addiction to pick up! {{shelling hugs}}
What an incredible incredible shelling time!! I can’t believe how many were on the beach and the live Spiky Jewel Boxes were so spiky!! Loved seeing the clam and all its eyeballs!! I’m so looking forward to seeing you next week on the continuation of Kice Island. Wish I was there too!! Have a great week Sharmon!!🥰🐬
@ 11:35 Wentle Trap in the upper right corner next to the Boad Ribbed Cardita; looks like it may be broken. Back to the video (so many amazing shells, I love Kice Island!). 🐚 😎
I love the pin shells too. I have seen wonderful art projects done with them. My favorite was a Christmas Tree. They are shaped perfectly for that. They attached them to a styrofoam cone.
It must hurt your would a little bit to hear the crunching under your feet. I’d be thinking I hope I didn’t step on anyone! What a treasure trove you found!
Hi Sharon. Loved this video and all of them. So glad you showed a live Spiny Jewel box. Never saw one before. Saw a glimpse of what looked like a large orange shell bag? Love the color. I need a bigger shell bag. Thank you so much for taking us to the beach ❤
Hi Sharmon, That was a great Cone Bonanza! So great to see all the critters as well. The clams are so much fun! Their little eyes are looking at you from every point, there's no escape possible. 😅 Did your shell bag stayed in one piece this time? Hope you have a fantastic week, filled with joy and happiness! Big hug and lots of love, xoxo ❤️, Ilona
Yes, I did manage to keep my shell bag intact this time. Probably because I went for "ol' reliable" - my original beat up orange shell bag - LOL! The new bag is beautiful but it's not functional enough for me so I'll let everyone know about the company (fantastic quality) but I'll probably keep looking. I met the most fabulous people in my Florida Master Naturalist Class. One woman is a captain and has her own company. I went out with her last week on a day of adventure and it was beyond fun. I can't wait to share! Sending you love, strength and healing from Florida! ❤️🐚🌴🌊

Ginger I had over 2 hours of footage I've had to whittle down to just 1-hour to show in 2-parts. It was so fun! I wish we had been able to see the colorful moonsnail a little better. Next time! 😉
What an incredible shelling trip!!! Loved the live scallops, of course the alphabets and all the live critters you rescued. Such a yreat to join you every week. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for coming to the beach with me!
That was awesome video! Can’t wait until next week!
Amazing video! Such a great mix of shells and live critters. Loved the balance of content.
An Amazing morning shelling ! Can't wait to see Part 2 !! Thank you !!
I love ending my Sunday nights watching your videos...so many great shells but I think my favorite are the nutmegs. Thanks for taking me along with you. Cheers from Ontario, Canada
Hi Sharmon! Definitely a great start!! I love when you venture to Kice island! ( :
Holy moly, it is cone central today on Kice Island! And colorful moon snails too! ( :
You are finding amazing shells, after shells, after shells!! Lol! ( : Good for you, sweetie! It is an amazing day on Kice! ( :
You are finding soooo many live sea creatures, too, especially spiny jewel boxes today too! ( : I love that you save them all!! It makes me sooo happy! And, I have never gotten to see my favorite shell ever, a calico scallop shell, alive either! Thank you sooo much for sharing your fabulous trips to the beach with us, so we all can see these live creatures in their natural environment! Thank you sooo much, Sharmon! Truly! ( :
I cannot wait for more Kice, next Sunday! Yayyyyyyy! Have an awesome week. Sharmon! Thanks again! ( :
Awesome!! Gorgeous finds!! I love all the cones you found! Those nutmegs, horse conchs and murex are some of my favorite!! 😮😂😂Have you ever gone to Eggmont by Fort Desoto? That's a great island too.
Ohhh the Colorful Moon snails!!❤❤❤
I was dying - there were so many beautiful ones!!
I am incredibly jealous of your life!!! ( in the nicest way possible ). Lol. I have not been to my beloved Sanibel since 2015!!! I am dying inside. Thank you so very much for your videos. I do not comment much but I pretty much watch ALL of them
Believe me - I work my tail off but I am living my best life! I'm so fortunate to have chosen such an amazing place to move to!
@@SWFBeachLife I am sure you do put in a lot of work and not everything is strolling the beach finding treasures. I have never tried to record a video for YT or edited a video. I imagine that alone takes tons of time and then earning money to pay bills and housework on top of that…do you sleep??? Lol
Much appreciated once again what you do for us
Love all the live critters. A beautiful day at the beach. ❤
So much fun!! Thanks so much!
Wow! Wish I was there! SO many awesome shells! ❤
We really enjoyed your video!
Makes me realize that I want my next trip to Kice is in the early morning, although the afternoon isn't bad either! And that dark nutmeg.... OMG!!! Thank you Sharmon for sharing with us.... I'm still detoxing from my Florida vacation. Shelling is easily an addiction to pick up! {{shelling hugs}}
The way I see it, there are a lot worse addictions to have!! ❤️🐚
The purple one!! Don't forget!!
Thanks!
Thank you so much Tanya!! ❤️
I hope you have a good week too Pam! ❤️
@ 11:35 Wentle Trap in the upper right corner next to the Boad Ribbed Cardita; looks like it may be broken. Back to the video (so many amazing shells, I love Kice Island!). 🐚 😎
When there were so many cones those wentletraps didn't even enter my mind! I was surprised I saw the piece of one that I did!
Thanks so much for sharing your adventures!
What are those beautiful dark pearly long shells? Maybe not collectible but wow how beautiful 😍
I wonder if you're talking about the pen shells? I do pick a few up next week to show you 😃
I love the pin shells too. I have seen wonderful art projects done with them. My favorite was a Christmas Tree. They are shaped perfectly for that. They attached them to a styrofoam cone.
Wounderful beautiful finds.. would love to be there..
It must hurt your would a little bit to hear the crunching under your feet. I’d be thinking I hope I didn’t step on anyone! What a treasure trove you found!
I hate walking on the shells but sometimes you HAVE to 😂
@@SWFBeachLife I know, Not that shelling was quite that intense where I did a lot of my collection, in Panama City Beach. But there were times!
Hi Sharon. Loved this video and all of them. So glad you showed a live Spiny Jewel box. Never saw one before. Saw a glimpse of what looked like a large orange shell bag? Love the color. I need a bigger shell bag. Thank you so much for taking us to the beach ❤
Spell check changed your name! Sorry 😊
That orange shell bag is my original bag that I've been repairing for years now - LOL! I bought a new one that I'll show you in an upcoming video!
Thank you Sharmon I love the orange and the original is a nice big bag. Can't wait to see the new one
P.S. I'm barely halfway thru the vid: Sharmon, thank you for taking us along; I've learned that Kice Island is a fantastic shelling location 😊
It was crazy awesome that day!
Your trip looks like mine did about a week or two ago. I was surprised how pretty the moonsnails were, but they were smaller than expected.
Hi Sharmon,
That was a great Cone Bonanza!
So great to see all the critters as well.
The clams are so much fun! Their little eyes are looking at you from every point, there's no escape possible. 😅
Did your shell bag stayed in one piece this time?
I found my golden olive on Kice. you had good luck too!
YAY! I hope yours is all super shiny! 💛
Every time I watch your videos I just want to hop in my car and drive to the beach....and I'm in Indiana right now😊
Oh it sounds like you need a vacation!!
Love to explore Florida beaches with you!
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Just fascinating!
Wow. Whata day you had. !!!
Would January be a great time of year to find shells?
Yes it would! Chilly - but those winter NW winds help push the shells onto the beach!
Thank You.
When I was a kid 1991-92 I lived in Florida. We always went to the Atlantic side, never to the gulf side.
You named the colorful moon snail after ME!!! 😃
❤️
