Sharmon, I need you to know that I REALLY needed this video today. My beloved Aunt who saved my life as a child had a massive stroke last week, sadly her body is still here but what remains of her mind is that of a 2 year old. She will need to be placed into a longterm care facility for the remainder of her life, prior to this she was a very active 84 year old who only retired 3 years ago. The stress of it all on top of the text message phone tag with extended family members had me feeling very close to snapping. Then I saw this video and smiled. Thank you, this walk on the beach picking up pretty seashells and saying hi to our critter friends really helped! Thank you. What you do matters.
Yay, 1st. Thanks Sharmon, that was a productive slow day. I love limpets. I can remember years ago when I carried two bags when shelling (plus a small Tupperware for tinys) and people would ask what I found. I would show them what was in one bag and they would ask about the 2nd bag, it was trash. I can't count the number of times people would say WHY and I finally got to the point of saying because it is there. This started in the early 70's, it took until about 2000 before they stopped asking why. I used to pick up 100's of cigarette butts and candy wrappers. Sorry for the rant.
if everyone who visited "nature" picked up a little litter...just think how much nicer those excursions would be for the next nature lover. litter patrol doesn't have to just be beaches;) although it would be a whole lot nicer if folks would be better about not littering in the first place

Funny thing about banded tulips - there are almost none some places up here (I see a few at HISP), and then there are tons at Pass-a-Grille Beach. The sunburst CS's aren't picky about how many bursts there are - I've seen 1 - 4. Love those too! 🥰 That was a great video of the hermit crab! Thanks, Sharmon! 😘
Outside shoveling from a snow storm ongoing here in Pa., looked at my husband and said “ gotta go in, it’s Sunday nite and I am going on a shelling beach walk” 🤗 From snowy Pa., thank you!
I don't think I've seen 4 "rays" in a sunburst patterned scallop before... Seems to me there are usually 3! Whether 3 or 4, that's definitely a favorite pattern for me, too.
