Very neat, I never caught that. I knew about the magazine 1st appearance but never realize that was his 1st comic appearance. 4-5 years ago that was a $2 comic so definitely gone up in value since the last time I looked it up.
Wow, that is one amazing bargain you got. I was so thrilled to see another one of your comic book Haul videos. I’ve worked nearly 12 hours today, and your video gave me a much needed smile after getting home.
Really enjoy the comic hauls! Amazing books super cool finds. Not into funko pops whatsoever but ALWAYS look forward to these awesome comic hauls. You really get great books👍✌
I love doing the comic haul videos, they are my favorite. One day when I have proper studio space to set up multiple videos at once I will do more comic videos more often.
I'm only through the first box, but between the Spidey 121, the two Detective 476s, and the handful of other baby keys you've already done extremely well on the whole lot.
2 copies of Giant Size FF #4, first appearance of Multiple Man and X Factor #17, first appearance of Rictor. I died inside when you just glossed over them. 😫
I have owned so many runs of X-factor over the years they just seem like common comics to me even though there are a ton of keys. That being said in the 1980s I loved X-Factor so it is a run I really love. As for Giant Size FF #4 I did not own one of those yet so did not realize it was the first multiple man, very cool happy to get those.
Pop Fun To Play I totally understand! Rictor’s one of my favourite characters so, I already own 5 copies lol. Nice score! Happy you nabbed those issues!
Dunno if anyone mentioned it but FF #164 is the first Modern appearance of Marvel Boy (last seen in hyper-violent pre-code Atlas comics from the 1950's). Apparently some hype around him because of speculation that he will turn-up in the MCU in Young Avengers or some such. Also it's the first George Perez art on FF.
Superman Annual 11 is the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons masterpiece and has some value. Marvel Team-up 55 is the 1st appearance of the Gardener and the 1st appearance of the Power Gem and the Time Gem (from the Infinity Gauntlet). Plus beautiful art by John Byrne.
That makes FF 164 Double fun to own. Does look like folks are starting to pay some cash for that issues. Its crazy what modern shows and movies end up doing to comics decades after releases.
@HiveRobot I love Taskmaster, I have a hard time selling any of my Avengers 196 lol but I probably should, I have 5 or 6 now. But yeah its definitely a different beast now compared to 10-15 years ago. I kinda wish I collected more mainstream stuff back then but I was still feeling the burn of the early to mid 90s comic bust so I mostly collected indi stuff and cool sci fi stuff. A lot of that stuff has sky rocketed in value as well. I think its just with time these things eventually gain value. But the movie and tv hype really had been pushing keys as well. I personally still collect with artist in mind first then character or key second.
I used to exclusively collect the Avengers and had an entire collection. I kept the first dozen or so issues and my favorite keys and sold the rest because I wanted to invest some money. Those books were basically all dollar books like 10 years ago and now are almost Spiderman or Batman tier.
fantastic 4 keys you had between 100-200 142- first appearance of Darkoth the Demon 108- Origin of the Nega-Man 120- first appearance of Air Walker (replaced Silver Surfer as Herald of Galctus) 121- Death of Air Walker 130- Second appearance of Thundra 150- Marriage of Quicksilver and Crystal 155- Partial origin of Silver Surfer 164- First appearance of Frankie Raye who becomes the second Nova 166- Classic Hulk vs Thing battle 167- Classic Fantastic Four vs Hulk issue 171- First appearance of Gorr the Golden Gorilla
For the longest time most of those did not hold much more value over the issues around them. All very awesome comics though and it does look like some of them are picking up steam. I am sure there is a ton of potential if anything makes it into cinematic story telling. I think I have had most of them for a long time when they were still dollar comics haha

For 3 long boxes of comics, you got alot of great key issues of bronze especially death of Gwen Stacy Spidey issue, and long run of defenders great score.
That guy must really had some bills to pay to give up ASM #121!! Good for you!! Super purchase on a haul that also includes some Avengers and Defenders keys! You also killed it with Secret Wars! Those books easily pays for everything! Enjoyed watching your catch in the wild!
Yeah I really did not have the cash to buy it at the time (Mid winter our shops is always slow so we avoid buying if we can. But he said he really needed the cash that day so offered them to me for $100 a box. I really could not say not to that once once he started listing of the general runs of things he had.
You have more than enough to make back your money. If many of these are in decent condition, they would qualify for the $3.00-$20.00 range. I think this was a fantastic haul. And that spider-man 121 did pay for it.
Yeah I love finding silver age for a great price. So close on the hulks. I have a 180 and 182 in my collection but I still need a 181. I had one in my collection I sold in 1993 so its one of the few comics I still need to replace.
Love a good comic book haul. Looking up some of the Hulks, #200 has a little bit of value as does #282, the first team-up of Incredible Hulk and She-Hulk. Marvel Super-Heroes #15 has some value to it as I am sure you know. Hope that crease presses out, not sure if it broke color or not. Fantastic Four stuff, going by Key Collector: #130 is $3 low up to $35 high grade - second appearance of Thundra. Fantastic Four #150 - low $4, mid $12, high $50 - marriage of Quicksilver and Crystal. #164 - low $2, mid $8, high $25 - Marvel Boy reintroduced as Crusader; 1st appearance Frankie Raye/2nd Nova. #166 and #167 sells around $8 for mid, $20 high - Hulk vs Thing and FF vs Hulk.
I love filming a good comic haul, hope to do them more often this year. It does seem a ton of the Bronze age stuff is gaining steam and value. If not for the crease the Marvel Super Heroes looks like it would be a solid mid to high grade. A pressing might help a ton.

Awesome collection to dig through, definitely a great value! How do you sort new comics into your PC? Do you have a filing system or just keep a spreadsheet with contents of each box?
I pull out the boxes and check every issue, upgrade condition, keep variants (New Stand, Direct, Later Printings, Printing errors, international issue etc) and anything that is a duplicate I pull out to sell. I usually do a big sort in the winter and then smaller sorts the rest of the year. I need a studio space to be able to sort more often.
Thing 35 is the first Ventura Ms Marvel, not super valuable, a minor key. Defenders 84 is the first battle of Namor and Black Panther. Rumors have Power Pack as a show on disney+, so might be good to hold onto that.
Yeah I have been holding Power Pack 1 for a long time assuming it would be a show one day. Defenders 84 definitely sounds like a good spec book right now.

I have a very vague memory of my Brother taking me to the local book store that sold comics, I remember him being very happy to bring me so I think he wanted me to get into comics. And I remember picking out a Tom and Jerry comic with a yellow cover. I don't remember owning that comic beyond that trip so I must have looked at it then just tossed or lost it or something fairly quickly. I would have been 4-6 years old at that point. Later on I remember my brother selling me X-Men 199 and G.I. Joe 21 (That G.I. Joe was one of only 2 comics I have left from my original collection) G.I. Joe #49 is the first comic I remember picking up brand new at the book store and I starting buying comics weekly at that point for about 5 years. Ages 9 to 14 or so. I sold that collection in the early 90s maybe 93-94 or so I got fed up with the prices rising so high and all the gimmick covers. I regret a few comics I sold but for the most part I have replaced everything except a dozen key issues and golden age comics.

You got a great deal... almost like you paid cover price for the comics.... FF is an under rated comic. Not worth a lot but very well made books, stories and art.
So people can see the comics? I have seen other people go through comics quickly yanking them out of the box half way and creasing the spines. Not the best way to show off a collection.
My focus is on value and not short term gains. So my focus is not making an income on flipping comics fast, I do that with other things in the shop. But by holding onto the keys they in general rise in value over time. For instance I bought 10 near mint copies of Amazing Spider-Man 239 about 6 years ago for $5 and held onto them. At the time I could have sold them for $10 each and made a $50 profit, but I recently sold 8 of them for $50 each and made a $350 profit or 700% return on my investment in 6 years. 700% return is near impossible when you flip quick. And I got to keep 2 NM copies for my PC. I usually put 100% percent of my focus on selling the cheap stuff, that stuff has no future potential. If I can break even to double my money on the filler titles I am super happy, the keys will bring in way more value down the road.
20 years ago I would sell all the comics I would get, but it never really made me a huge profit, it was not until about 2012 that I realized so many things I sold quickly were selling for so much more that I decided to start holding onto a lot more things to let them peculate and appreciate in value before I sold them.
That Marvel Spotlight #6 in the first box is the first comic appearance of StarLord

Hey where can I purchase some of those comics from you? Do u have a website or ebay?
I sell some on Mercari, but I mostly just sell in the physical store.
It’s hard to make money as a store when you keep the keys for yourself😂
Ur the best man
Thank you :)
