- One more dealership visit and inventory look at more Mazda Crossovers. This is the highest volume dealer in Alabama at Med Center Mazda. They have well over 30 Mazda CX-5 crossovers in stock and less than 20 Mazda CX-50 crossovers. What will be the better selling crossover this year?
Mazda is increasing production of the Mazda CX-30 and Mazda CX-50 to match the Mazda CX-5. It will reach it's best-ever annual goal by increasing production and availability of all crossovers except the Mazda CX-5.

The CX-5 is great for someone who doesn’t need a really spacious second row and/or generous cargo space. Test drove a CX-50, but seems like it’s aimed at the outdoorsy types and sits lower to the ground than the CX-5. But still a nice choice. Almost bought a CX-30, but it feels more like a slightly raised hatchback. And the price point was so close to the deal I got on the CX-5. Still loving ❤ my 2024 Preferred trim in deep crystal blue mica. So nimble and quiet. And can’t beat that luxe looking interior.

I’m very happy with it. It’s nimble, quiet, has a really nice upscale interior and is a ton of fun to drive.
This could be the last year for the CX 5 as it has been so I’m thrilled to get one before that happens.

The CX5 for me. I'm holding out for a refresh design with hybrid. hoping it happens for 2025. Also, made in Japan is the cherry on top.
This is like who is the GOAT, Lebron or Michael? Both vehicles have their fanbase. My vote is for the CX5 which I own. I drove a CX50 with roof rails and it was so noisy I seriously thought that it was a factory defect. I would love to be reassured that was a one-off and that the CX50 is good.
If they made the cx50 as quiet as the cx5 and increase the ground clearance..that’s a winner right there
They do need to quiet it down a little. Should at least offer acoustic glass on the Turbo models

The CX-5 is a better package and price. I sure like mine.
CX-5 is the winner for me. Traded our 2014 CX-5 for the 2024 CX-5 preferred pkg (both with soul red). It's amazing how much upgrading and tweaking occurred in the 11 years we had our first CX-5. The CX-50 IMHO is more geared towards the younger generation and is designed for the outdoors style of driving. The CX-5 is more refined and presents as more luxurious. Obviously both are great vehicles. And the CX-50 may one day replace the CX-5, but I'd like to think that won't happen anytime soon. You just can't stop producing your best seller when there is still such a high demand for it.
Love my new CX-5 Preferred in Platinum Quartz Metallic. Very solid car, great insulation that keeps it cooler in the heat.
When do you expect the 2025 CX90 to launch? The 24 has been out for a year now but I know they're still gearing up for the 70.
Hey Jonathan, would you happen to know if Mazda modified their eternal blue mica in the last few years? I had a 2018 CX5 in that color, and I could swear the current etb looks a bit different. Better, even. Might just be the color-matched cladding altering my perception, I don't know.

You can get a CX-5 Turbo Signature for $42,020 (no extra cost paint, with destination). Or you can spend more money and get a CX-50 Turbo Meridian Edition for $42,670 (required extra cost paint, with destination). But that CX-50 lacks a lot of features that the CX-5 Turbo Signature comes with such as Bose sound, SiriusXM, heated steering wheel, front ventilated seats, rear heated seats, heads-up display, parking sensors, 360 view camera, Traffic Jam Assist, navigation card, and rear Smart City Brake Support. Until the CX-50 Hybrid comes along, I think it will always fall well short of CX-5 sales while they're still being sold side by side. Please say there will be a hybrid sometime soon. With gas here in San Diego over $5/gallon even at Costco and with higher summer gas prices to come, a hybrid can't come soon enough!
Does anyone know if the OEM stock steering wheel on the 2021 Mazda6 GTR Carbon Edition is made of real genuine cowhide leather? I want to know how to clean it properly. Thanks very much!
I live in MS and just 2 hours away from Med Center Mazda. I will probably get a CX-5 from there.
I own both, 21 cx5 GTR and 23 cx50 premium plus. The cx5 is a lot more refined in every way than the cx50. The cx50 beats the cx5 in only two ways. It handles better and the Bose stereo sounds a whole lot better.

Mazda sure has come a long way. I feel they sit firmly in the #3 spot in Japanese autos. If I was #1 and #2, I would keep looking over my shoulder because I think before long, Mazda will be sitting in those spots……..just saying!

We have a 2021 CX5 carbon edition non turbo bought it brand new. It only has 45k miles and already has an oil pan gasket leak and front cover seal leak.
They will fix it under warranty but really only at 45k and having leaks already 🤯🤯😡😡😡😡😡
I also have a 2020 CX5 touring bought brand new also , it has 70k miles on it. It has had the ghosting infotainment, and a bad ambient temperature sensor.
If you get your car serviced at the dealer don't expect them to advise you about leaks. We had to go to a independant shop to find out about this !!!!!

Whats the issue about cx 90 sales?
The CX5 is like the Toyota 4Runner.. Been out forever and tried, true and reliable. Plus it’s built in Japan. The 50 has a nice rugged design but only in its 2nd yr of production so there are issues with it.
Yes CX 5 is still better, it feels more premium and has more interior space than CX 50.
