Wow, thanks Lois for sharing, your glaze combos are some of the best ive seen they are just stunning. These goblets are striking. Just keep playing with glazes, I love your work.
Than you. I am struggling to get going again. A lot happened last year that was very difficult. But my husband broke his back in December. He had to have the top vertebrae pinned with two 10 inch titanium rods and I has been a serious journey. Mentally pottery needs a place back in my heart and I’m working very hard to get that back. These were filmed last October I would say. So still not there yet.

I am sorry to hear that and hope is now getting better and I know how difficult it is to get going 10 years ago my friends forced me to start again and I am so grateful for that so keep going Lois. Remember there is stuff going on that is out of our hands. Take care my potty friend sending healing thoughts. J
Hi Lois, your potter friend here from Denver Colorado!!! Ive been your subscriber for a long time.... I sure hope everyone else that is watching will take just a moment of their time and click on it too!!! Just in case, I was the one who shared the palladium and snow recommendation with you. 😉
Thank you Lois for the great video! I find your video very informative. I too would have painted black, or used underglaze on the very bottom rim. I know it would bother me every time I used the goblet. 😊
Very instructive video. Had to use subtitles and slow the speech in order to understand but found it most helpful. Thank you for doing these educational videos!
Glad it was helpful!. I’m not sure why you felt the speech was fast. Did you watch it on double time ?? I’ve just checked and it sounds at normal rate to me. Thanks for the comment.
@@LoisHook It is your British accent that makes it difficult for my American ears to understand. But no worries, between the subtitles and slowing down the verbal, I am able to understand all that you say!
Glazing is what I do and my great love. I'm not interested in low fire anymore and have experimented with Mayco products until I know them pretty well. Now I'm exploring Amaco and your site it helping me learn and expand a whole lot faster! Thanks.
Always love your videos! I depended on you when I started glazing with Amaco so please keep up with showing the glazing and kiln opening! Regards fr South Africa 🇿🇦
Oh LOUIS! I am soooo happy to see you’re back!!! My gosh these are sooo beautiful Louis!! I can’t believe how much they are alike. Love your tutorials so much. Do you fire to cone 5 or 6? I hope you show us the rest of the kiln load. It looks amazing.
Thank you, Lois! This is such a beautiful combination. I just experimented a couple of days ago with Obsidian on brown speckled clay with Midnight Blue. (Waiting on the kiln to see how they turn out.) I wouldn’t have thought to add oatmeal, but maybe I’ll play around with that today.
Lois, so lovely to see you back. I have a question. When you did the dish set for your brother, you showed us several combinations, especially with toasted sage. Would you mind letting me know if toasted sage always went of first, or the other color used went on first. Im trying to duplicate some of the colors. Thank you
I tried both. You can message me direct and I can photograph the cups. I still have them with the way I did the glaze layering. What’s app me. 07855194046
Absolutely Gorgeous ..... Love that glaze combination!!! What was the red bowl in the kiln glazed with? Even though there are issues with that bowl, it's still is stunning! Thanks for posting your glaze technique and kiln opening!
Thankyou for your thoughts I still have a couple of videos to put up. My husband broke his back last Dec and time has been difficult. Just got back in the pottery for a little bit but not totally their yet. This video was stamen last year. What time into the video was the red bowl?
I have a skutt kiln ant it has a preset panel. I fire to cone 6 but when I have comes in it 6 is well over so I think a high cone 6. The bowl turns out amazing so that video will be up soon.
I can’t see it’s missing. It’s showing on my husbands phone and shows him as subscribed. It maybe your already a subscriber and it’s not showing you it again.
Beautiful colors… I think at that size, I’d call it a chalice

Hi. Nice to know you’re still watching. I promise more content soo.
Gorgeous!
Thankyou
If you want more than jet black on bottom … I’d use Blue Midnight… it’s a beautiful glaze.
I do love your goblets!! ❤❤❤
Thankyou. And yes I have done a mug with obsidian as a base and midnight blue over. I had forgotten.

Cone 6. Thankyou for your thoughts. I will get a new video up soon.

Nice. I use Oatmeal all the time and when I’ve fried other glazes that is a flux I’m almost disappointed because oatmeal gives such a reaction.

Beautiful work ! What cone did your fire to ? I’m sorry if you mentioned it and I. Issues it….💕💕
Hi I am firing to cone 6. I have a skutt kiln with a preset screen. I think the kiln does fire to a high 6 but no hold or anything else.
Beautiful! Can You tell the oven temperature ? I did the same in 1240* and was too dark

Thank you! Mine is a ROHDE and cone 6 (1240 centigrades) I will have to do tests!
