- Covering over 100 miles on this river adventure was just that, an adventure! The first big trip on my Gheenoe was something I wasn't totally sure about but the Apalachicola River in the Florida pandhandle never looked so good.... Can't wait for the next adventure.

A perspective from a senior of 77 yrs.First of all I want you to know you have earned my respect,,,,,,, it is rare for seniors of my age group to watch videos without the huge disrespect of subscribers watching these videos , without using foul language to no limits of the( F) word .........You sir are setting good examples for the younger subscribers, especially your own children and showing a respect for your Wife as well, TRIP my hat is off to you sir Thank you for making great vids, I will continue to watch them.if I could vote on stars of 1 to 10 I give you 20 starsDave
Dave, thank you sir very much. I try to put out good content that everyone can enjoy and set a good example at the same time. I'm not always perfect, but I do try! Thank You Sir!
Hey Dave FUCK YOU BOOMER!
Fuck yeah he did
You have such a kind and fun heart. Rock on!
I like your attitude towards PFDs, and those folks who get bent out of shape that you don't wear one. You put it a lot more diplomatically than I might. Seems like a lot of people never were taught, at an early age, that minding one's own business is, by and large, a GOOD thing to do.
Thanks David! I tried to put it as best I could. Great comment lol
Lets reflect on what we learned today...shall we? 1) Always have a small tool box and a few primary nuts and bolts for the trip. Also a manual for the motor just in case. 2) Bring your own food if you go with Trip. His food tastes like crap! 3) before setting up camp and a place to bed down send Trip on a white paint reconnossaince mission to report places where no white paint was detected. 4) Sand can be real slippery apparently 5) Trip has a real nice mom 6) Cord and rope fascinates Trip to no end with its usefulness and one I will remember during the Christmas holidays
Lol Love the comment! Really do.... Thanks for the fun one!
That bit about the pfds 😆 couldn't agree more.
Lol Yea really! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment ;0
I never wear a PFD while paddling. I have one of course and will also wear it if the conditions warrant it. You don’t have to explain yourself Trip. You are awesome and keep up with your amazing videos!
Agreed Shelley. Thanks for the comment!
hanging a hammock between a river birch and a black willow.....works for me....but don't let it roll into the river....LOL
We've missed you bud...hold your tung when it comes to PFD, a serious topic that doesn't need to be so serious. We've all watched you long enough to know, you know what your doing. Stay safe and stay you...regardless of others! We love it! Regardless of how you do you, we watch because we wish we were in your position! Life on the water, hanging out! Thanks Man!!!
Great comment Raymond, thank you for that bud. I agree with you 100%.... I still want to do a little "PFD Testing" in the future ;)
This was exactly the type of adventure I’ve been waiting for. Also good to see nature (little birds) getting comfortable with you
Perfect Boss!!!! hehe, yea I enjoy seeing that as well.
Your videos make me smile. Keep the great content coming brother.
Glad you enjoy them! I hope to keep them coming for many years to come!
I just started following u .. thanks for your awesome personality , being positive, and have a family friendly channel... keep up the awesome work... #LiveActionNation
Hey, glad you enjoy the content Catfish! Just being me and having a good time bud ;)
Excellent, enjoyed every bit of this one. Side note at 50:47 the caption should read "Entered the Intracoastal Waterway".
I'm loving the variety of content trip. Keep doing what you're doing mate! As for the pfd issue kayakers get really sensitive about it but at the end of the day it comes down to the individual's personal risk assessment and your reasoning is very sound.
Glad to hear that!!! Really glad to hear that! I agree with ya, it's individual.... Some folks just feel differently.
Exactly what I wanted and asked for. Thanks Trip.
You're welcome Charlie!!!! Glad I could deliver
Just go ahead and tell the pfd wearers they're yuppies! 😂 I'm in fl, live on the coast. The only time I wore my life jacket was when we were 50 miles out and a storm rolled in quick and I was SCARED!!! You do you, Trip! Love the videos!
There ya go Traya.... Most folks don't understand most folks who spend a lot of recreational time on the water don't wear PFD's all the time....
Thanks for all you do for all of us!👍
Yep! You're welcome!
Nice trip. I can't wait to get me a Gheenoe. That thing is really perfect.
Haha! Glad to hear that Perry, it's not to bad ;)
@@TripSmith the motor is a 9.9 2 stroke long or short?
Keep it coming! Hope you get all the success living this dream.
Will do! I hope so to, but the joy and happiness is what's the main goal ;)
Awesome Awesome Awesome. Gotta love the Gheenoe life!
FOr sure! Good stuff!
Awesome video!!! Thank you for all you do!!
You're welcome Beaver! Thank you for watching!
Great video as always! Thank you Trip!
Glad you enjoyed it Gus! Thank you!
Sitting long periods of time on that hard surface gives you Boat Bites.
Yes... for sure!
Looks like a cool trip!!!! Thanks again for another great video!
Super cool Ninja! You're welcome, thanks for continuing to watch Ninja!
That floating structure was for bees. They take "bee barges" out onto the Apalachicola River and let the bees gather nectar from the tupelo trees that grow along the river. This is where Tupelo Honey comes from. Great video, looks like a fun trip!
No kidding? That's crazy! Glad you enjoyed it!
Always a good time on the water. Cool adventure
Indeed it is! Glad you enjoyed it!
Cool adventure, thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it Peter! You're welcome!
It was good to see that river again. I spent a lot of time on that river in the late 80's - early 90's dredging to maintain the channel for the paper company up river. The company that I worked for probably built the sand mountain you hammocked on.
Oh cool! Glad I could bring back some memories for ya Eric. Thanks for making the mountain happen!!!!
Great video man. I always enjoy them. Awesome new boat by the way. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it bud! Thanks, I'm enjoying it!
Braunschweiger is a spread that you put on white bread with Mayo or other condiments, that is really good. Most people don’t eat it by it’s self LOL. It’s for sandwiches.
That is so cool!
Oh yea, good times Erick!!!
Trip, great and fun trip. Thanks!!!
You're welcome Doug, thanks for watching!
real men enjoy what ever float their boat! The new ride is awsome! can't wait for my(our) next adventure! Imagine 1000 gheenoe friends come along next time
That's right Jason! Hahaha, that would be epic!
Dude, your videos are sick! Hands down my new favorite youtuber! Shoutout to you southeast Alabama folks, my wife is from Rehobeth, AL and I lived in Dothan for about 4 years, that Rock a Dock shindig sounds awesome, might have to see if I can slide through there 💯👍
Thankya Thankya! Ah cool! Hope we see ya at RockaDock! Make it happen ;)
That sunrise was beautiful!
Yes, it sure was!
Looks like a really enjoyable trip.
Sure was!
I'm an open water swimmer and nobody ever says I should wear one when I'm swimming, so I figure I should be good even on a small craft too (I still always bring one usually within arms reach). Keep doing you I love your channel wouldn't change a thing!
Crazy aint it Mike???? lol Thanks!
I really enjoyed watching your recap of your adventure, sice I left from Columbus, Ga. Kayaking the trip. At Appilaciacola I hung a right a paddled over to Port Saint Joe at the big Marina. Keep up the very enjoyable videos buddy
Glad you enjoyed it Randall! Glad you are Getting Out There, I will too ;)
Been waiting for this one to drop Trip!
I hear ya bud... me too! lol
Oooooo. Wow leaches. .. very cool trip Trip.
Nasty rascals! Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome trip brother... will be doing the same here soon...
Thanks Mark, enjoy it!!!!!!
I saw in another comment that you are a firefighter. I am a firefighter/paramedic in the Dallas area and I just got my first iSUP after seeing some of your videos! Love your content man and stay safe!
Yep, replying from the station right now ;) Oh cool! Hope you are enjoying that ISUP! You stay safe to bud.
Fantastic adventure! That Gheenoe is perfect for that type of river running and covering ground. I think the eggs may have been gopher tortoise eggs; they lay their eggs in shallow and sandy nests like that.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, it is perfect for river trips like this... no doubt. Gotcha, I really know nothing about what would lay the eggs lol
Cool trip. I am looking at property on this river. Looks like a clean river for swimming. 34:02 Python eggs.
Ummm, it wouldn't be my first choice for swimming ;) Python????
We do this trip every year on jet skis - love it
Oh cool!
Just found your channel love your adventures just awesome you've inspired me to make my own thank you keep up the good work!!!
Hey glad you found the videos Steve! Have fun Out There filming!
Awesome vid! Inspired by your energy and positivity. Even if you wear your PFD or not, great vid🤙🏽💯😂 God bless and be safe!
Hey thankya! Glad you enjoyed it.
PDF, you have it with you....end of story. Great vid!
Yep, thanks Andrew, glad you enjoyed the video!
That bird bar is a swallow! They are bug eaters an fly like a fighter jet! Probly see them screaming across water tops eating bugs an what not get a drink by scraping the top of the water too! Love what you do wish i could com join ya on one of your adventures! Right up my alley!
Oh cool, thanks for the bird lesson ;) Glad you enjoy the videos bud! Come to RockaDock ;)
Great video..liking the new craft!
Thanks Sally! Glad to hear it!
Awesome river trip Trip!
Thanks Eric! Glad you enjoyed it!
I missed the live, my phone didn't notify me. Can't wait for Rockadock glad you announced the dates on it hopefully we can make it
Darn, hate you missed it! I can't wait either, hope you can make it!
110 miles in a motorboat. Miss your classic kayaking trips with a sit in and a paddle.
Yea, it's different than things I've done in the past. But I couldn't have done this trip in a kayak feasibly.... This has been a stretch of river I've wanted to explore for a long long time, finally got a way to do it ;) Still pretty much the same thing though, just moving a bit faster lol
@@TripSmith yeah I feel ya bro. No pun intended. Def. A different style of outdoors trip. Probably less exhausting to lol
I love these. I kayak and skiff. It’s perfect
Looks like an awesome trip. I think you would love the Wilderness Waterway down in the 10k islands. We've done it twice. The season is now over, but you should put it on your calendar for next year.
It really was! Oh heck yea, that would be awesome.... I'll look into it, thanks!
Hopefully that stranded boater will learn to carry a little jump box on his boat.
Use to live in New Hope, Fl. back the 80's and know lots folks in Geneva. I really have enjoyed your videos great job! I'm homesick for that area now in Brevard NC use to work in Dothan at 102.5 back in the day.
Oh awesome Jess! Glad you enjoy the videos and I love 102.5!
Boat rocks , great video trip.
Thanks Toby!!!!
D....he beat us to it..... Great video Trip!
Uh oh..... lol You're turn!!!
I am a retired Coast Guardsman and the only thing I can tell you is....I will say a prayer, the whole wearing a PFD is in the same category as wearing a seatbelt.....some say seat belts do not save lives and some do...I guess its an opinion. I always wear mine just because its safe..but also I can not be a hypocrite I spent 20 years in the coast guard so I kind of need to practice what we preach as coasties !! Great video.
Yea I year ya Ethan.... Thanks for the prayer! Glad you enjoyed the video ;)
Great Trip Trip. Super excited about Rock-a-Dock. I can't wait to host your group in my hometown Geneva. We will roll out the red carpets for you guys. Advice to you and all from personal experience. Do not beach on the Intercoastal unless you have to. You will get swamped (I have) gear and all. Most good experience is learned the hard way. See ya soon.
Hey John! Thanks man! I'm excited too!!!! Haha, yea I figured those waves wouldn't quite do it, plus it would have been great video if it did swamp me....Cya!!!
I honestly get why you got the gheenoe I like kayaking but for the working man if you work lots of hours. It’s hard to really plan a traveling schedule in a kayak. I have to do mostly short day trips. I could only imagine if I had to record videos and stuff with it. Wish people give you a break you shoot a lot of great videos. Your a excellent paddle boarder and kayaker. Take you time and enjoy your boat. And also your only required to have a life jacket on a boat to have one on board don’t have to wear it. I get where kayakers are coming from but it’s easier to flip a kayak then any boat. Just keep putting out great videos but remember to do your diving and exploring also with your gheenoe. Awesome job again.
That's right Raymond! Dude, recording makes things take quite a bit longer at times for sure..... Yea, people don't always understand like you do. I still get comments about folks asking me to do more kayaking trips.
The pfd thing, I agree with ya bud. Oh don't worry about diving and exploring with the gheenoe, my next big trip with have both ;) It's going to be awesome!!!!
braunschweiger is great on toasted wheat bread with mustard and onions
That sounds good!
And pickles
Brawnschwagger is the best. Been eating it my whole life. We slice and put on a sammich
I’ve watched this video at least 10 times since you put it out. All of your videos are great but for me this one is king (cape trip at campsite #7 is runner up). Planning on becoming a Patreon subscriber soon.
OH wow! Not sure why some come out better than others but it has something to do with the story line..... It's hard to recreate lol
Thanks for considering supporting the channel PJ!
I paddled from north Georgia to Lake Seminole in 2017 down the Chattahoochee. Your starting right where I left off at that dam, had to portage all the dams. Never could get them to open up, this year I'm doing a similar paddle. Hopefully at least some of the dams will acknowledge my canoe lol, they are massive obstacles.
Nice trip! Yea, the locks aren't operational right now or I would have liked to have started way up there as well.
Dude, do what you feel !
Will do Cpt!
You have some great adventures,
I try too!
I'm with ya on the PFD subject. I dont see why folks get so spun up, we've seen you are a more than capable boat operator and are a phenomenal swimmer. I'm sad you lost subs over something so trivial, but you're better off without the fairweather folks. You're a solid guy and have inspired folks (especially me) to get out there! From a brother in blue, keep up the good work!
Thanks for the great comment Josh. Yea, you never can please everyone lol Hope you can Get Out There more and more bud!
First time seeing your channel here. I haven’t fished out of a canoe since I was a kid in the 80’s. I found your video while watching videos on canoes. I’ve been kicking around the idea of selling one of my kayaks and my Jon boat, and getting a canoe. And your video makes me want to do that even more. I’m looking at a 14.5ft canoe to pair with a 2.2 hp motor I have. I won’t be doing any 100 mile trips with it, but it should be fun to have on the small lakes and rivers here in KY.
Hey glad you found the videos and I hope you get into the water craft you want to do some adventures!
Been enjoying your videos. And, don’t worry about people’s opinions on the PFD stuff. You’re being far more safe than 99.99% of boaters out there by actually attaching your kill switch to yourself.
Glad to hear that Taylor! Yea really lol Some folks are extra....
Man, that’s a great trip. I love the boat 🚣♀️, very cool. I understand what ur feeling, cause i also once did a long trip by myself on a jetski. Kentucky lake to Gulf of Mexico via Tenn. river and Tenn-Tom waterway, all the way toMobile Ala, ending at “Dog River Marina”. I wish they had Go Pros back then. 630 miles, 5 nights, an adventure also. 😊 Sorry, don’t mean to write a book but ur trip makes me remember 🤔. Congrats on ur trip, i love it 👍🏻 thanks for sharing 😎 ATB from Kentucky (don’t forget “red right returning” lol)
I thought so too Greg! and the boat, oh yea!!!! Dang, nice trip! Hey, happy to hear you are recalling some good memories.... ATB!!! I won't forget ;)
Awesome video Trip!
Thanks Angel!
I live in apalachicola and we go to that sandflats every weekend and that tussle too
Awesome! Good area.
really enjoy your channel. a lot of the areas you go are familiar to me . I live on Lake Martin in Alabama, but I have spent a lot of time in Florida , Georgia , and Alabama which seems like that's your area of operation. Anyway, thanks for what you do.
Glad to hear you enjoy it Danny! Oh cool, what a great spot to live! Yep, I live down in Dothan so that's my area ;)
Cool, I was stationed at Fort Rucker years ago, and I'm originally from Tallahassee Florida. Anyway, keep up the content. I look forward to watching more , and getting out and doing more as well.
Glad I'm not the only one who forgets the kill switch! After 10 mins and a few choice words and it will dawn on me what is wrong.... SMH.
Funny when that happens ;) I'm starting to get in the habit of putting it right back on when I kill the engine....
Yo in the dot just started watching man where you been all my life absolutely love your adventures be safe out there bro feels like i know you from somewhere but who knows maybe i just feel like i know ya from watching peace!
Hey glad you found the videos and enjoy them so much!!!!
I just spent 8 days on an island on the Colorado River Austin Tx. I had my 'yak, but that boat has got me interested! Have fun and be safe man!
Andrew...i would like to get some info about the colorado river. I'm in Dallas,Tx...i cant do 8 days but an overnighter sounds great!
I am thinking of driving to Florida next year for a Gheenoe myself. Cant find em in Oklahoma or Texas.
Yea, the boat opens up a totally new world... greatly broadens your exploration options. Haha that's aweomse Bill! Come get one!!!
Give East side boat rides a call. Tell them "Shawn" sent you. They do Taxi service and tours. Since nobody owns little islands in the middle of the river, for the $25 "Taxi" service I simply load my gear in the boat and they drop you off. There are several to choose from. When your ready.....text em, and they come pick you up. They can also drop you off way up river with a kayak and you simply paddle back to them. Oh, and those islands are covered with fire wood from various floods. Have fun!
I’ve always eaten braunschweiger or any liverwurst spread on a sandwich or cracker with mustard pickle and onion. I’ve never seen it eaten hot out the tube. I love the stuff, but that looked brutal! Try it cold spread on a ritz cracker, I promise it’ll be a better experience.
It was rough... yea I want to try it again lol
getting better man
Yes sir! Always trying ;)
Awesome video
Thanks Brayden! Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice. Thanks for wearing your kill switch. I got on you last time.
Yes sir! I try to do right some of the time lol
That would be a blast great video trip. First video I saw was your last video. I subscribed right away that's the good life right there. Unfortunately st louis doesn't have anything close to be able to do a trip like that
It totally was a blast Mike.... Thanks for subscribing and welcome to the channel! Surely there is something somewhere relatively close you can Get Out There and make something happen. Even if it's a small trip, you're still Out There!
Love the videos and content very informative! From young to old you inspire people to get "OUT THERE" and explore God's creation. Oh and by the way the first set of dogs you came to are my husband's my kids were screaming "there's our dogs"!
Glad you enjoy them! Oh nice! That's pretty wild seeing dogs Out There. Cool stuff!
Cool vid brother..✌🏻
Thanks Joseph! 👊😉
Great videos man. I just discovered your channel. Not sure why you don't have many more subs. I am interested in several of the boats in your vids. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! hahah, I donno either :) Will do, hope you find yourself a nice little boat!
grown man can decide if he wears a pfd or not. great vid Trip! need to do this in Nebraska soon!
maybe a dumb question but why dont your vids have adds?
Agreed! Make it happen! Well, I do have some ads, just not many and usually only the ones at the beginning and end. I'd prefer to have a channel that is supported by the audience through something like Patreon than inconvenient ads....
Nice video.
Thanks Scarlett!!!
The flap on the front of the cushion is called Keder Welt. It's commonly used on boats to fasten enclosures, biminis, etc. You should be able to get a short section of Keder track and fasten it to the front of the seat (possibly even with high-strength double-sided tape so you don't have to put holes in it if you don't want to). You would then slide the welt into the track and snap the snaps to the back (assuming you add the snaps).
Trip, you probably see marine canvas shops all over the areas you frequent, I bet if you asked around someone would give you a scrap piece of track that would be enough for that cushion.
I hope that helps, thanks for another great adventure video!
Great info Jason! Thanks for that. I'll see if I can round up some of that track. My father-inlaw is a outboard mechanic who is tinkering with random boat stuff a lot. I'll check with him.
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the video!
Chicharon got me excited. Haha.
Oh yea!!!!!
My dads beach house is right on the other side of that bridge!! Missed ya
Oh awesome! What a great spot....
I like to carry safety wire (Aviation background) it can be useful in the absence of nuts and bolts. Love your videos.
Good tip! Glad you enjoy the videos!
Enjoyed the humor and video! I use Tortillas for peanut n jelly sandwiches or peanut butter and honey.
Awsome Greg! Sounds gooooood!
pretty cool man I used to live in Chattahoochee
Nice!!!!
Who cares if you wear a PFD or not. I am with ya 100 percent. If the situation doesnt warrant it, dont worry. If you are in rough waters then yeah. I live in Oregon and am inspired by this channel. Inspired enough that i bought a kayak in November 18. I wore a PFD in the cold because a a former Navy sailor, cold water sucks and anything helps. But in the summer even on my 14 footer, i dont wear one unless the situation is sketchy enough to need it... keep on Trip!
Hey thanks Gilbert! Glad you got yourself a yak man! Yes, cold water sux.... Thanks for the great comment!
Just sitting here watching your video listening to you talk about the pfd opinion. I agree there is time when I wear mine if the conditions or weather is unfavorable. Otherwise it’s close by if I need it. Anyway great video
Yep, that seems to be the general consensus.... Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh Trip, the Braunschweiger Leberwurst is a thing to put on bread ore such things, like you would with peanutbutter, not for direct eating.
Ahhh, I figured it was something to put on your hook for catfish bait or crab bait? lol
Good shit
Glad you enjoyed it Dean! Thanks man
I subscribed. Looks like a lot of fun
Hey thanks for subscribing! More fun to come ;)
if you did the withlacoochee river youd be a saint... also the yellow river, swuanee, st johns, basically all the rivers
I plan on doing the withlacoochee actually! Probably on the paddle board though as it's pretty shallow in spots. I need to do them all I agree!
@@TripSmith that would be bad assss
I just happened to have bought paddle leashes from your guy on Amazon. Came in the day I watched the video as a matter of fact. Wish I'd known you had an affiliate link when I bought them. Oh well seems like each vid has something I wanna buy. I'll get you next time. Great video!
Hey cool! They are nice. Yea, no worries about the affiliate. Maybe if you think about it next time, head to Amazon on my link and buy whatever you fancy ;) Thankya Travis!
I wish I could RE-SUBSCRIBE again just because of your PFD speech. LOL...............yeah, chill out people
Haha! Thanks Andrew! Yea, some people were pretty concerned. But I haven't heard anything from them in the comments on this video lol
Lmao..... that a boy, never bend a knee
