I wanted to bring it to UA-cam, but UA-cam Shorts cap at 60 seconds, and these are all 2-3 minutes, so I've refactored them into 16:9 for UA-cam, and I'll put a new one out once a week or so. The OG RE3 had some very atmospheric moments and was very good at building suspense it’s such a shame what they did to the remake, scripted moments can be fun but when every playthrough is the same it kinda looses his magic, in the original the encounters with nemesis depends on the choices you’ve made and if you got stuck on a puzzle or something nemesis would show up without any warning and that was scary as hell
It does depend on the choices, but he's still scripted in the original. If you make the same choices, he is going to show up at exactly the same times.
I heard that the re3make team almost chosen to remake re4 and the re2make team as a backup. After the re3make disaster, capcom decided to gave the project to the re2make team instead.
I had to stop re2 remake as soon as Mr X came in. That and the amazing sound design, especially with surround sound, hearing all the monsters screaming in floors above and Mr X stomping round. Scariest game ever imo
You got really interesting content and videos. I'm glad I found this channel. The Manhunt game brings back memories. Unforgettable Brian Cox as the main villain. BTW. I gotta painful story about the new REmakes. I had some experience with MoCap and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the RE 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part...Now, many years later, when I see how successful those remakes are I can't believe I wasted such an opportunity. In this business one audition can change your entire life.
IMO, What really brings down Nemesis are those QTE or "just move forward sections" and how effective grenades are against him. The intro could have been great if it was actual gameplay. The apartment section would've been miles better if it focused on evading Nemesis since Jill has no weapons. When Jill gets to the parking garage, they could have made it work like the Jack Baker's Garage encounter in Resident Evil 7. The flamethrower bossfight, IMO, is the best fight in the remake. The buildup to it is okay, but it could have also been great if it, again, had the player avoid Nemesis and flames on her way up, instead of being a linear path. In the original, his biggest weakness was to get his AI stuck on a wall. No weapon could bring him down instantly. The only instant takedowns were during live selection screens. Even then, he would get up almost instantly. Additionally, I believe Nemesis suffers from reduced backtracking. The original, perhaps a bit excessive at times, connected Uptown, Downtown, and the RPD. The remake offers no such connection between the three. This could slightly be seen in REmake 2, as the second scenario has no section running through the street to get to the RPD. Aside from this, I believe Capcom could easily implement my prior suggestions. PS Resident Evil 3 and it's remake are my favorite games in the series.
Totally agree. They cut nearly the first two hours of the game and while there was backtracking, that backtracking happened mid-chaos and had some fun puzzle solving! And yes, the flamethrower fight (once we got to the roof) was great. No gripes there. But I just replayed the original, and I love how much freedom I had to decide how I would fight Nemesis (if at all), versus the remake which set up big cinematic sequences with nothing interesting for me to do in them.
RE3 was one of my favourite games from childhood. When they announced the remake i was beyond excited. Nemesis was my favourite horror villain of all time.....and they made him scripted and a pushover.
One thing I was miffed about was how they didn't make Nemesis like his later two stages in the original. His final form in the remake would have been a nice addition to a revamped version of his final form from the original. The remake, I think was better in terms of story- but in terms of gameplay against Nemesis, cut bosses and enemies, and smaller city, HUGE letdowns.
Nemesis looks like a licker and it’s so damn lazy. As a kid playing RE Nemesis, he terrified me. Actual nightmares. This version made me laugh out loud multiple times. A travesty lol. Honestly the biggest shame is that we didn’t get some brutal execution of Brad by Nemesis. It showcased how powerful and threatening the original was and we got absolutely nothing in the remake.
Agreed. I played a toooon of RE3 og because that is what I had at the time on ps1. So RE3 was a love of mine. The remake is fun I don’t think it’s a terrible game, it isn’t what I ultimately wanted especially the nemesis fights.
You summed up in 3 minutes what would have taken me a half hour to say and I agree with all of it. In the original RE3 you didn't know what was coming after you. In the remake no tension was built. The remake was fast and lazy. Didn't even include Mercenaries at the end. In the original Nemesis was strong, fast, unpredictable and damn near indestructible which is kind of what they did in the remake until he mutated into that dog thing you talked about. Many areas are missing I would say most of them. And something I don't want to say but I have to. They did Mr. X in the RE2 remake better than they did Nemesis in the RE3 remake, and that is not supposed to be!! Good video! Liked and Subscribed!👍
Man RE3 1999 is still to this day is my favorite game ever made. The RE3R is just absolutely terrible. I remember sitting there watching my dad beat 2 and 3 and when he got the infinite ammo my brother and I would play it and beat it over and over again. God nemisis was so damn scary in the 1999 game.
Yea the original RE3 is one of my favorite games of all time but I feel the remake was almost an after thought. Instead of adding some new fresh ideas to the original or expanding on it a little, they just completely erased whole sections and enemies that were in the original. No idea what the their thought process was when making this remake. And the ending boss fight in the remake is in my opinion, the worst designed boss fight in the series especially on inferno. Its a shame.
They literally made the finest RE1/RE2 games but RE3 is a downside to a female protagonist (Jill later was added to Resident Evil 2023 movie "Really Awesome") Someone Did Expect Chris/Alomar models in RE5 Remaster , their literally expecting for RE9 fans find out more about "Characters getting old ~than an actual Remaster to Golden Aged Resident-Evil Classics"
Well after watching this I'm torn between finding a way to play the old Re3 or just playing the remake i have on Gamepass. On one hand I'd like to see the full potential of Nemesis but I also am not a fan of the old way the Resident Evil games played. Likely due to my first experience being 6. What do you think? Edit: So sorry, I accidentally said my first was "3" and promptly changed it.
I am in the minority. I love tank controls and also RE2R's Mr. X was too boring and can not finish the game due to the lack of items *for me*. I just do not understand the game including shoot the feet instead of heads. RE1 Remake is perfect with it's burn the zombies. So, games like Dead By Daylight could be way more easier to learn if tank controls are a thing, instead of getting cheesed. RE2R shoot the feet is a bad anti-zombie game mechanic. It is not how the genre should work. Mr. X is just boring and might be the gameplay or graphics.
RE3 original is my favorite resident evil game as well, and it feels bad how RE2 remake and RE4 remake were done way better than RE3 remake. So much content cut and so much missed opportunity.
I am pretty new to the resident evil games. I only downloaded the remakes of 2 3 and 4 because they were all on sale. And three was definitely the weakest out of the bunch doesn’t mean I didn’t like it though but I completely understand it would be disappointing for an OG fan.

I love both versions of RE3, but I'll never forgive the person who decided Nemesis should just be a dog half way through the game 😂
I can't imagine what that pitch must have been like. There's SO MUCH good content in the second half of the original they skipped over for this.

Yes, I loved all that! You really got the sense Nemesis was as smart as you in the original. Not so much in the remake.
It does depend on the choices, but he's still scripted in the original. If you make the same choices, he is going to show up at exactly the same times.
Dont forget that the studio that worked on re2make and re4make didnt make re3make.

It's a fine enough short little adventure, but they had a great game to remake and only remade about half of it.
