The only thing I wanted was to explore the interconnected streets of raccoon city, but most of the street level areas are what we saw in the demo. 70 to 80% of the game takes place underground, in the labs and the hospital. Jill doesn't even go back to the RPD. It doesn't even feel like they were trying to remake RE3, unlike with RE2R...
I had a suspicion things were going downhill when the demo was literally like ten minutes long and mostly hallway. the RE2make demo was the entire police station and a half hour timer, whereas a demo like that for this game would have been a substantial chunk of the runtime
@@Paul_The_Spaceman I think its more likely they wanted to utilize all those RE2R assets for the underground/lab/sewers/rpd instead of making new Street levels areas.
RE3 isn't bad, it was just entirely too short and predictable. The music, voice acting, and art design were this game's strongest points but the overly scripted battles and lack of exploration made the game somewhat disappointing. It was clear that the developers wanted a fast paced atmosphere - the problem was that it was too fast paced. They didn't spend time trying to craft a narrative by giving the player busy work because they wanted rush things along.
I think another point to add was budget since RE 8 will be revealed soon and RE 9 is in development... Plus they already spent money on resident evil resistance it was okay and fun, but it didn't receive good feedback as alpha beta so they bundled it with this game :/
@@ameridris - Yeah, good point - Capcom didn't give RE3 Remake the attention it needed because (as usual) they try to overcompensate a lack of content with multiple projects on the horizon. It sacrifices a good game now for the promise of a "better" game later. The first 4 numbered entries were excellent because Capcom refused to put out a halfbaked product. RE2 was scrapped after a year of development and RE4 was scrapped twice because Capcom would rather sacrifice time and money than publish a crappy game back then.
@BlankLooks Everywhere, Capcom had "pride" back then. Plus Shinji Mikami who wanted and tried his best to make each main RE title be as great as it could be.
@@Gruntvc - I miss the days when Shinji Mikami Produced/influenced Resident Evil games. He had a hand in all of the truely nostalgic RE games (0, 1, 2, 3, CV, OB, and 4).
@BlankLooks Everywhere, Plus convincing Capcom make Kamiya's build of RE4 into Devil May Cry. Also, delaying RE2 and starting over from scratch. Plus over seeing development of RE3 1999 and pushing that team to add content, content completely cut in this "remake." I miss Shinji Mikami. Numbers are in, RE3 Remake apparently sold 2 million copies worldwide in its first 5 days, half of those digital. But, RE3 Remake failed to meet or surpass the sales of RE2 Remake's release, 3 million. RE3 2020 even failed to match or surpass the launch sales of RE3 1999, 3.5 million. Yeah, should've delayed RE3 Remake, Capcom. It's already being outsold and played by Final Fantasy VII Remake and Animal Crossing New Horizon. Why didn't they delay and release it in May? The only big game for that month got indefinitely delayed, The Last of Us 2. Better yet, delay the RE3 Remake single player for at least a year and add content to the game. They could've still released Project Resistance in April.
Well technically we cannot even call Nemesis a STARS killer because according to the Remake he doesn’t actually kill any STARS members. In the original he did but in the Remake he didn’t.
yeah it was very disappointing Brad didnt die from him. That scene was so impactful AND on top of that Jill doesnt even go back to the RPD, no Nemesis window crashing. There was a lot of missed potential once again with this.
2020 Remake Nemesis: 0 STARS kills and utterly fails to be scary. Wears a trash bag on head and shoots off into the sky like a mutated spider man. 1999 Nemesis: Is slowly built up by encountering Brad in RC, before he makes a grand entrance in front of the RPD and kills Brad. Basically an organic Terminator. Iconic leather outfit. Yeah, even Resident Evil Apocalypse Nemesis is laughing at 2020 Remake Nemesis. Apocalypse Nemesis has the highest STARS kill count too lol.
i thought it strange that Brad got bit by a random zombie early on. I was expecting him to just get killed by nemesis. but apparently he also got bit in the original so i guess that part was the same.
My low key favorite thing in the game is trying to open Bard's office early in the hospital as Carlos tries everything he can think of to trick the voice recognition system. Even doing a pretty decent impression of Bard despite hearing his voice exactly once.
his own footage of the original with the HD texture mods and cleaned up backgrounds is basically what these remakes should be, combined with modern character models. just what RE1make was
The game was rushed to hell. I mentioned my concern when it was first announced but somehow people didn't have issues with a full blown remake being announced only a few months after the previous one when REmake2 took about 4 years to make.
Both games were being developed at the same time, but RE2re team did not make this game, it was from another team from Capcom. "Resident Evil 3 was under development for approximately three years prior to its announcement in 2019.[6][7][8] Development was handled by Capcom and its subsidiary K2 Inc, with assistance from Redworks and M-Two, the latter being founded by former PlatinumGames CEO Tatsuya Minami". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Evil_3_(2020_video_game)
@@Melkac Things can take time, especially when a lower team is working on something, Working with new engines can be very time consuming and making sure the game can run stable. I would say their limitations of 3 years are what caused parts to be cut out and things could have been re-written. Not excusing the cut content but I'm thinking this was the team's first run with the new engine, which is common and it can cause loner development time.
Considering it runs on the same engine it didn't bother me they made it so quick. I have the same complaints as everyone else, but I'm happy Capcom is still interested in making these games.
Sometimes I "bank" your vids because I don't know when the next one will be! Always a great day seeing a new upload. Love your take and your insight mate.
This remake sounds kind of half-hearted. I don't get the point in trying to update a classic for a new generation if you're not going to put in the elbow grease, Capcom
I guess my biggest problem with this game - aside from cutting corners and removing the locations I wanted to see the most (Raccoon City Park and Dead Factory) - is how they butchered Nemesis. He just doesn't come across like the big antagonist of this game. Instead he is just like any other Tyrant now, only with the ability to say "S.T.A.R.S." every now and then. That's because they removed all the iconic scenes he had in the original game. In og RE3, it was Nemesis who killed Brad. It was Nemesis who shot down the chopper that Jill was supposed to escape in. It was also Nemesis who killed Nicholai. No matter how much damage you did to Nemesis, he still kept coming after you. And unlike Birkin, Nemesis never really mutated much until the very end of the game, which was actually pretty clever, because that really showed how little damage you did to this guy.
RE1 Remake 2002 was handled by the original creator, Shinji Mikami. He wanted to make a remake that surpassed and expanded content from RE1 1996. He accomplished that and tgat remake is still highly regarded. That's not the case with RE2 Remake and especially RE3 Remake. Their more reboots, not remakes.
REmake 1 is so good! I never played the original RE1, but I have played REmake a bunch of times. It is my overall favourite Resident Evil game and one of my favourite games of all time. I give it a 10/10 without question! REmake 2 and 3 aren't really REmakes, but rather REinterpretations. Playing them is completely different from playing the originals and they can't be considered replacements. Both products are very different and different people will prefer different ones. However REmake 1 seems to have completely replaced or improved on everything from the original RE1, making it largely unnecessary to play the original unless you are nostalgic or curious. That's a true REmake. Pokemon Heart Gold & Soul Silver is another that jumps to mind.
@@Gruntvc I liked re2r. I think it will be fondly remembered. I don't don't think the same will be said for this. I also don't think Jill's strong independent woman persona will age well either from this remake, I enjoyed her banter all the same for the most part

I mean why weren't they in the first place, right? The whole reason people wanted RE2 to be remade was because of how great RE1 remake was in every way. Why would capcom take such a different route in remaking the other games? Why do people support and praise the changes in a way that makes the originals seem like they were never adequate?
That was incredible, wasn't it? These games just don't seem in that league, and the lack of music/fixed cameras/atmosphere/important sections just can't be ignored. I'm surprised that RE1 Remake hasn't been remade, and maybe even RE4 will one day :(
@@Poseiden2 I think it stops at 3. Maybe code veronica might get the same treatment. Maybe not though considering resident evil 3 remake was made along with resident evil 2 remake because of how similar the originals were. Fans took issue with the loss of the clock tower. The devs decided the interiors were superfluous. The hospital is basically the same thing but without the church, which is one of those things I feel was cut to make for a more "badass" Jill.
It's nice to hear someone who actually played the 1999 game and knows it. A lot of people never mentions how randomized the original game was because they probably never played it more than once or at least not back to back. I think Upscaled RE3: Nemesis on Dolphin is the better option short of an RE 2002 style remake which will never happen anyway.
Sure but it is longer than the gem it is based on and as long as one run of REmake 2 or even REmake 1. It is CVX that doubled (well, not quite) the base length of campaigns.
All I wanted out of REmake 2 & 3 were more games that were on par with the 1st remake. It's the pinnacle of this series: taking everything about the original game and refined it without compromises to gameplay. It thrusted you into that mansion to decide how to survive it. And that's what I find so offensive about REmake 2 & 3, their unwillingness to fully immerse players into the survivor role. Resident Evil, at it's best, is a game about player-driven decision making in a consequence-filled environment. It's a game that asks players to face the unknown with only a finite amount of healing items, ammo, inventory space, and ink ribbons: your means of saving. Not even the ability to save your game is exempt from that fact. A ballsy choice of the devs. Also keep in mind that you'll be doing this without autosaving, spelled out objectives, interaction icons, excessive tutorials, or that insulting/pandering map that keeps track of all things interactive for you. What makes REmake 2 & 3's outcomes all the more tragic for me is that I see a lot of potential within for greatness. Maybe the devs misunderstood the franchise's core appeal? Maybe the massive budget AAA games get is a blessing and a curse that forces compromises to maximize profit? I can't forgive them either way. I could go into deeper detail, but don't have the time to do so in a comment. Someday I will. I've had this pent up frustration since REmake 2 released. A lot of people give it huge praise and I wanted to be one them. Yet the flaws are far too apparent to ignore for, what feels like only, me. It's a very isolating feeling to bear. I can only hope there are other conflicted RE fans that find my comment to confirm that neither of us are alone in our feelings. RE6 almost killed this franchise I grew up with. I'm afraid that REmake 3 will succeed.
PrideOnInsightGamer I miss soooo much the survival aspect of these games and agree with everything you said, resident evil became so recognized for its great survival and scarce resource management what they did to RE3 remake feels like an insult to the franchise and capcom really owes some respect to Jill and nemesis, after all these classic characters made resident evil relevant as a franchise. I'm so sad about this, at least re1 remake exists so I'll have to play that
I'll say I'm biased as a guy who thinks that really loves RE2make and prefers it to the original, but even still I can totally respect the opinion that these two games aren't good remakes in the way the first one was, but I don't think it's fair to say that at least 2, but also even 3 at times completely miss the point of this franchise's core appeal. In fact, the less scripted way a lot of things are handled I think improves it. Not only are all of the elements you mentioned still a focus in RE2make, with the only thing I'd call "gratuitous" being the ink ribbons but even then I used up most of them, but if anything I thought the way a lot of encounters like the lickers were handled made the situation much more engaging than the original. As opposed to being a scripted, cinematic walk towards obvious danger up ahead, you're often thrust without warning into staring down a lot of the game's new enemy types without any sort of meaningful pause with stuff like a cutscene to try and "scare" the player before the actual gameplay starts. I think in that regard it's hit the nail on the head of a survivor a lot more because instead of focusing too hard on characters constantly crossing paths or stupid decisions logistically it's more about the player choosing the best way to survive and proceed with the situation when wrenches are constantly being thrown into your plans surprisingly. Basically I get the comments like atmosphere and all of that, but I think from a game play standpoint these two games have done well to capture the spirit of the original's limited mobility and meaningful decision making in every encounter without going too resident evil 4 to the point where it feels like you have an endless amount of options in every situation, but RE3 definitely feels a bit too linear and generous with ammunition, and I don't feel like those parts get enough credit.
I was worried the most about what Nerrel would think of Nemesis. Because he’s better than X, yeah, but after 2 item drops he just starts dropping ammo which is a bit of a disappointment
I agree, the drops are by far the best thing that comes from Nemesis, it's even fun how the crate just "pops" out of him, but I wanted new weapons instead of only upgrades.
So basically "If you are going in expecting nothing but a mediocre game that just has some references to og Resident Evil 3 you are in for disappointment"
Here i was thinking you were gonna tear this game a new one....... But you stayed in a less pessimistic perspective and focused on the game's intents and departures. Quite a contrast from most of the cynicism and comparative bitching i seen from other players so far. Well Played Nerrel, just as i like it, tough but fair. -Thats what i like about Nerrel , he sticks to his own perceptions rather than bandwagoning or exclusively subverting everything like most comment section lobotimites think- That RE1 Suit was the Cherry ontop of your Ice Cream
Even though I never played the original, this sums up how I felt. I like playing it, but feel like it’s WAY too short. I’m hoping maybe Capcom gives an update or DLC that adds more (even though it should have been here to begin with), but then again I am still waiting for Capcom to give an update for REmake 2 to fix the B scenarios
It's still very disappointing that they didn't do the remakes of RE2 and RE3 in the style of the original Resident Evil remake. Ultimately I believe that's what we all wanted.
What's frustrating is after many years, I thought they had- since they were re-releasing them all on GameCube at the time and the remake for 1 debuted on it. They subsequently released the others, and I had believed they were remade as well for the longest time which baffles me as to why they never actually did, and yet they still ported them.
What bothers me the most is that you cant get the original psx releases anywhere. Only the remakes, which in the case of RE1 it doesnt bother me since the remake is true to the original. But the remaining two are completely diferent games and i think both versions are worth playing. I mean capcom ports all kinds of ps2 and ps1 games for the switch like megaman x and devil may cry. Its almost like if they were embarrassed with the old style. I dont know some people might argue that the remakes would loose sales to the classics, which i disagree with. But if thats the argument then what happened with the oldschool tradition of including the old game as an unlockable for the remake. It certainly could've help here as a cheap way of justifying the retail prize, one of the biggest criticism of this game.
I really like you're perspective of these games being bad remakes but being good games as they are. RE3 Remake was totally rushed though which is a shame. They could have at least put in more areas to increase the length.
As Nerrel has said if a remake isn't superior in every way to a game made 20 years ago then it can't really be deemed a total success - ReMake was a complete improvement on the original RE1. How can an RE3 game with missing areas, almost inaudible music, less atmosphere and a forgettable(!?) Nemesis be a complete improvement? And the use of OTS camera always seems to turn these games into a kind of RE4/RE6 hybrid. PS - looking at this review - has the 'objective' marker returned? That's all we need, another one-time survival horror title when you're constantly being ordered around!
if you don't mind paying for a 5-7 hour game you should give it shot. it may be a completely different experience from the original but its still very fun
The problem was that the "B" team was developing this, and it was clearly more rushed to ensure it didn't get too close with the release of RE8 and still felt fresh with RE2 remakes release. I understand why they did it but I was super disappointed cause I was looking forward to RE3, but on the PlayStation 4. "RE6 lite" really is the best description. I enjoyed the game but was just disappointed by the largely cut corners and lack of content, especially the clock tower and expanded city.
Thank you Nerrel for uploading more in this boring time. I find your videos incredibly rewatchable, but I must admit new content is appreciated, because instead of this I'd be rewatching the same reviews about the SNES controller, your motion controls saga, the emulation stuff, and all the Zelda and Metroid videos. Or, I'd be rewatching them more than I already am.
Also if you haven't already, I recommend you try out Monster Tale for the DS. The game is all about traversing this world of monsters run by children that stumbled into it, with a monster of your own who can transform , each transformation with it's own unique ability. It was the game that introduced me to metroidvanias, and has pretty good reviews on metacritic, would love to see your take on it.
I wish Nemesis had spent more time in his original form with the flamethrower and rocket launcher. Of course the game is on the short side just like the original ironically enough. But I wish we could have gotten more with his first form before he turned into the giant licker. Too me that's what he looked like. I would say if you want more true survival horror stick with the Resident evil 2 remake. If you want something that's faster paced and has a little more action/adventure then the Resident evil 3 remake is the way to go. I feel like the the ending was lacking too by the way. Too this day I'm still debating on which is superior, the original Resident evil 2 or the remake. For nostalgia I want to say the original but then I remember that the remake does do some things better. With the original Resident evil and it's remake I thinks it's a pretty clear case that the remake is superior. But with the case of Resident evil 3, I feel that the original is absolutely better then the remake.
This is the most reasonable look on the game i've seen. you have a better understanding than most but i'd still add some perspective. it not being scary makes A LOT of sense. 1.you're playing a remake of the 3rd game of a series. in which was not originally planned to be horror. but for various reasons that's what they went with. 2.the main character has already experienced the infection. it would not make sense for her to be terrified of something she has already overcome. 3.resident evil 3 original wasn't scary most of the time. ignoring the jump scares with nemisis. it was a comfortable game. 4.it hasn't been long since RE2 remake. were used to the zombies. and they are the same zombies because its the same city, time period and event. them acting differently would be weird.
i cant really agree with this for me RE3 originally was scary for me but more so its mood, like the beginning intro and invasion of the zombies was absolutely terrifying, and the music was more robust and focused on a dark dismal feeling through the game. Also with the classic games you had better atmosphere alone with fixed camera positioning, the files in the game and descriptions you could find by examining the room, such as the Mercs guy and the girl huddled into a corner, dying holding each other and you read the file on them. there was a lot more focus, less rushed in the original that did give it mood. But was RE3 originally more action than say 1 and 2 were? I agree but that doesnt mean there was hardly any horror, horror the "remake" did leave out.
4:39 Whenever I replay this game or watch anyone get to this cutscene all I hear are theses sound effects in my head, this has affectively been forever ruined for me and I love it thank you nerrel
I was pretty bummed when I finished the game so quickly in standard and ran thru it much faster in hardcore. nightmare, however, is a scary beast. I just started feeling confident about playing the game and they reshuffle items and throw WAY more enemies at you. it rly is a good replay value for that one.
You do an incredible job of being fair and touching upon all points. You're review was both insightful and able to help me understand how I would react to the game. I also enjoy you giving final thoughts rather than a number score. Phenomenal. Best review I've ever watched!
The developers said that they'll never go back to the fixed camera angles ever again, because they think that we have moved long past that now. As for this remake, I prefer it's atmosphere over the previous one. I'm mostly a sucker for eye candy, and I love how the game made Racoon City pop out. It's pretty rare to see horror look this way. There were some parts that did give me a good scare here and there, but it seems that 7 scared me more. I was surprised that we didn't get to the part or the clock tower (which I forgot about until you brought it up), but I still liked the changes here. As for the zombies, I don't think that recycling them from part 2 was THAT BAD of a thing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this game suppose to take place at the same night as 2, but just in a different time? So I think it would make some sense to see the same zombies in this one. And before I forget, the zombies in the background that you pointed out reminded me of the news anchor from RE6!
These games aren't canon, right? Because I just can't for the life of me see REmake 2 Leon eventually becoming Re4 Leon, I just can't. Also Code Veronica doesn't need to be remade. Not that it's perfect or anything (it's the 2nd weakest classic RE) but it doesn't need to be reimagined because the visuals still hold up.

I don't think you should be labeled "blinded by nostalgia" If you want a remake to be as good as the original or better. And before using the "Re-imagining" excuse...I'll say this game calls itself "Resident Evil 3" like the original...so it is already asking for itself to be compared with the original.
You do have to ask on why capcom decided to remove the replayable elements of these reimaginings. 2 by taking away a proper A and B scenerio. 3 making taking away the braching choices
What really makes me scratch my head is that if their original intention was to make this remake more action focused, and by those mechanics and how generous this game is with ammo reservation it certainly seems so, how come they never thought of including Operation Mad Jackal or adding new extra modes like what developers did with free DLC's in RE2 remake. I mean Resistance isn't really the best platform to showcase these mechanics on. It really seems like a clunky short burst multiplayer mode that might not justify its longevity. Heck, there are still people getting a kick out of Raid mode in Revelations games. Not to mention Mercenaries mode in any RE game that's included with. RE3 remake being more action focused isn't really an issue, but not including any extra mode to properly showcase these mechanics, other than an uninteresting multiplayer component, really seems like they could have had a better resource management. But it can be easily fixed with updates and DLC's if Capcom can put resources on to. RE6 may not be a good game by RE standards, but at least it had a huge amount of content to justify its original price value.
One thing I'd disagree with you on is the boss battles. Nemesis was such a pushover in this game since the dodge mechanic made it very easy to evade his big lumbering meat mitts. When he transformed he really didn't become much better, as I ran around the arena figuring out what to do whilst treating him like more of a nuisance than a threat since he couldn't even touch me. At least Mr X was significant enough to make you replan your approach to a situation on the fly depending on when he showed up, and you could down him only if you felt like that it was really necessary. Overall this game is fine by itself but unlike RE2 I would have to question why it's even a remake when it stepped on all of the best parts of the original like an over-eager dominatrix. It's fine for a remake to reimagine the original, but that would constitute something new and substantial coming out of the remake, like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories or Metroid: Zero Mission. RE3 remake may have been an interesting, if short, experience, but it pales in comparison to the original which I don't feel is true for the RE2 remake. I think the big thing is that as their own games with their own merits, I prefer RE2 remake to RE3 remake. When finishing RE2 remake I was immediately excited to go back through again on a higher difficulty with all the new information I had. When finishing RE3 remake, I went back to Animal Crossing and called it a day. As you said, it is what it is, and compared to the A+ output of Capcom in the past few years, it's still quite disappointing.
RE2 took me about 28h to get the Platinum Trophy (including post launch content), while RE3 took me 21h but honestly, I had almost 3x as much fun. My biggest criticism lies less with the game and more with Capcom's decision making. This should've been a 40$ standalone expansion to RE2 and slightly longer but they decided to instead put resources towards a multiplayer game they could monetize.
This continues the trend of resident evil being the most consistently polarizing franchise in gaming. Honestly I assume 8 and the heavily rumoured 4 remake will be just the same. If and when they do remakes if Code Veronica and RE1 and 0 this will repeat itself.
Correction: It takes a grenade *in Standard and Hardcore.* My friend, I dare you to try Nightmare and Inferno. The game is so much more challenging on those difficulties, and everything you love about Nemesis is turned up to 11.
Ya I’m surprised not many people mention nightmare or inferno. Adds a lot of replay ability imo, not just by increasing the difficulty, but by changing the location of many of the enemies.
As a remake, there’s a lot I didn’t like about this game, but I still enjoyed it for some reason. It was fun and I guess if you’re gonna fail at everything else, at least you made your game fun to play. I just wish they didn’t hack the game apart in favor of a multiplayer mode that won’t live to see next year.
I don't care as much about the remakes. as long as RE8 is a proper first person horror sequel to RE7, they can do what they like in the remakes and spinoffs.
When considering a Remake as a Remake, it's only fair that the original must be taken into account in regards to one's opinion. Otherwise, by just looking at the Remake by its own merits, playing the original isn't as necessary.
I was more hyped for this game than I’ve been for any other game in a long time. It was fun, but it wasn’t nearly as good as I’d hoped. It made re2 remake feel like a better more substantial game and I was hoping for the exact opposite. At this point I’m really really hoping for single player DLC

Yeah, I like the remake for what it is, but I'm disappointed with how much they retconed.
I had a suspicion things were going downhill when the demo was literally like ten minutes long and mostly hallway. the RE2make demo was the entire police station and a half hour timer, whereas a demo like that for this game would have been a substantial chunk of the runtime
Maybe they are going to do 4-6 too and want to change things a bit to ve able to maje them slighly different.
@@Paul_The_Spaceman I think its more likely they wanted to utilize all those RE2R assets for the underground/lab/sewers/rpd instead of making new Street levels areas.
They tease it hard too when u go to kendos but then walk away from the rpd :(
RE3 isn't bad, it was just entirely too short and predictable.

I miss Shinji Mikami.

He was trulyh a nemesis. im so disappointed in the remake.i guess ill keep playing hte original game forever then
It seems like REmake 1 was the way to go in terms of making remakes.
Not enough giant spiders in these last two REmakes

For the most part I enjoyed it but man, I'm really disappointed with how trivial they made Nemesis.
Even though I never played the original, this sums up how I felt. I like playing it, but feel like it’s WAY too short. I’m hoping maybe Capcom gives an update or DLC that adds more (even though it should have been here to begin with), but then again I am still waiting for Capcom to give an update for REmake 2 to fix the B scenarios
yeah ive been waiting for an RE2 update, even just for some small stuff would be great, like zombie brad or something.
Deal with it.
Exactly
4:17 “it’s mostly just gross” makes me utterly fall apart with laughter and i don’t even understand why

I understand why they did it but I was super disappointed cause I was looking forward to RE3, but on the PlayStation 4. "RE6 lite" really is the best description.
That is a very sneaky Neil Breen reference. Very good. Well done.
This seems to sum up my same feelings regarding the game. A little short, not a faithful remake, but really a lot of fun.

I liked this game better than re 2... All that back tracking and puzzles is not for me
The developers said that they'll never go back to the fixed camera angles ever again, because they think that we have moved long past that now.

2:00 lol, nice one
Yeah, I noticed that. What is that a reference to?
@@SirPonnd one of neil breen's awful movies. i think its called "fateful findings".
here's the scene either way ua-cam.com/video/dOV3xTJ9UgE/v-deo.html
Speaking of reused assets, the orange car Jill hits Nemesis with at the beginning of the game is actually Ethan's car in RE7 with a recolor.
I don't think you should be labeled "blinded by nostalgia" If you want a remake to be as good as the original or better.
And before using the "Re-imagining" excuse...I'll say this game calls itself "Resident Evil 3" like the original...so it is already asking for itself to be compared with the original.
wth, re3make is almost 3 years old?
this decade is flying by
You do have to ask on why capcom decided to remove the replayable elements of these reimaginings.
One thing we can all surely agree on was that Jill was awesome in this game. Hope they keep her face model and voice actress for future games
Fingers crossed that they skip 4 and go to Code Veronica instead. That games needs a good remake the most.
Game felt rushed, hollow, easy, and tedious. To each their own. RE2 remake runs laps around this dreck, imo.
I had to do a double take on that neil breen joke in the garage, got a good laugh out of me
RE2 took me about 28h to get the Platinum Trophy (including post launch content), while RE3 took me 21h but honestly, I had almost 3x as much fun.
Honestly I've had enough of them rehashing games. Just make something fucking new for god sakes...
Dude you are killing it with your reviews and editorials. Great content. Keep up the fantastic work.
Since nerrel forgot to rate this one I guess I'll do it:
I give this game 8 twerking tingles and a surprised Pikachu out of 10.
I know I'm really really late to this but God I love that Neil Breen reference at 2:01
This “remake” reminds me more of RE6 than the original RE3.
What a total letdown.
Nerrel always be criticizing games 😂 that's why i like this channel
One of my favorite critics personally
Yeah, it's almost likes he's a game critic or something.
The early games truly prove that less is better in many cases.
I really enjoyed your review, I dig your humor, you make me laugh. Thanks for the great content.
Nerrel you told everybody we banged after your RE review even though I specifically told you not to
4:40, You should've said "I did not add these sound effects."
The Neil Breen reference at 2:00 was so good
They really shouldn't have called it Resi 3... even if they'd added "Remake" as a subtitle it wouldn't have got as much backlash.
I've been disappointed after hearing that you don't control Jill in the RPD or that there's no more clock tower and park.
Low FPS? Is that why resident evil 2 remake had so many dark hallways? So we couldn't see how lousy the game runs?
Correction: It takes a grenade *in Standard and Hardcore.*
My friend, I dare you to try Nightmare and Inferno. The game is so much more challenging on those difficulties, and everything you love about Nemesis is turned up to 11.
Ya I’m surprised not many people mention nightmare or inferno. Adds a lot of replay ability imo, not just by increasing the difficulty, but by changing the location of many of the enemies.
I don't give a shit about this game, I just really enjoy your videos.
Probably the best review of this I’ve seen.
I don't care as much about the remakes. as long as RE8 is a proper first person horror sequel to RE7, they can do what they like in the remakes and spinoffs.
4:41 lmao I needed that laugh this is the most honest truthful review I've seen on this platform good job as always
I feel like the second remake was more about horror, while this is more of an action game
The most i’ll Pay is 20 bucks for this game
I died at "Could you please stay 6 feet apart please!"
Automatically hears Wild side playing in head every time when Jill and Nemesis are running around.
2:01 nice Neil Breen Reference
so what I'm hearing is "play the originals"
When considering a Remake as a Remake, it's only fair that the original must be taken into account in regards to one's opinion.
Otherwise, by just looking at the Remake by its own merits, playing the original isn't as necessary.
no, he literally says both remakes are good lmao
The originals are completely different games.
I know this sounds random but i really like the sound of your voice
I was more hyped for this game than I’ve been for any other game in a long time. It was fun, but it wasn’t nearly as good as I’d hoped. It made re2 remake feel like a better more substantial game and I was hoping for the exact opposite. At this point I’m really really hoping for single player DLC
