In heavy traffic, constantly having to shift can be annoying. I own a manual car but my daily driver is automatic because some days I don't want to have to deal with it.
I really enjoyed this departure from your typical youtube video style to give a more in-depth livability review of the car. A more chill and more fluid review style I quite like (I grew up watching TOPGEAR UK, so that's my zenith of a car review/overview). Having said that, your typical review style is to the point and part of what keeps me coming back. Keep up the great work, Zach!
This chill style review could be like your Lexus, whereas the other, typical reviews on the channel could be more like your standard run-of-the-mill Toyota Camry.
@nathanjoseph4284 I agree with you on this. Zach has taken this more chill and laid back approach prior in certain high-end vehicles such as Rolls Royce, Lexus, and other brands. He doesn't always, however.
I will be the tall review, I'm 6'4" and I just bought a 2025 Si a little over a week ago. I don't need to put the seat all the way back- I just wish the steering wheel could pull slightly closer to me. I also lowered the seat all the way and I'm quite comfy, even on long drives (I drive a LOT for work). I actually switched from a 2024 Mazda 3 and I'm finding myself more comfy in the Civic.
Where the Civic Si is marked up to high heavens, like here in Michigan, a 6 speed manual Acura Integra is a significant improvement for often the same price. Worth considering! Have loved mine for 2 years and 60,000 miles, and purchased it because of the Si markups.
Appreciate this thoughtful review. Well done. Really appreciate the MPG info too. Could you be the one to bring back a factual reviews like old school motorweek?😊 Would have loved a long form companion video where you compare it a bit more with the competition that you have reviewed
On the comment about highway driving. It may be a good compromise to switch to 17 or 16inch lighter wheels and gain a substantial increase in ride comfort, suspension capability due to unsprung mass and cheaper service down the road. I did this on my carolla se hybrid, using Sparco Terra all terrains and Michelin cross climate 2’s. If you ever want to take it to a auto cross track you have the original setup to pop back on. I truly believe any daily car should have 55 series or larger side walls unless you have variable dampers. It’s truly amazing how many pros there are to taking off those 18’s for daily duties. Smaller rims don’t have to be boring.
Zack , I like the format and I like your more reviewer based presentation. Noticed your beginning quirky game music is gone which I'm cool with but some of the music in the video was a little like traveling through a dark hallway playing a zombie apocalypse game. Maybe something a bit more lively lol. Overall well done
Hi Zack! I love your videos and this new format is very informative and entertaining but please omit that ringing/tranquil white noise playing in the background😭 it’s detracts from the otherwise charm of the video in my opinion
So I'm 6'7 and I can give some info on how it is for a tall person to sit in one of these. I sat in all trims from the base to the Type R, and I found that any model, (hatch AND sedan) that has the sunroof, makes it really difficult to fit inside. Since the sunroof cuts down the headroom quite a bit, I wasn't able to sit up straight even with the sunroof opened. I always had my head tilted at an uncomfortable angle, and that's with the seat all the way back and down. Legroom was no issue however. Ended up getting a Type R because I wanted performance, and I found it way more comfortable than the SI.
It could be a good daily driver if dealerships would stop marking them up and people would quit paying it. For the markup these dealers add you can typically get an Elantra N for cheaper which is better in pretty much every way.
As someone who’s owned a 05 & 08 si, the 1.5 turbo ruins any and all ideas I have about this car sadly… it’s a corporate sowing machine brought to you by Honda and the U.S. government regulations that have made it harder and harder for average individual to enjoy their vehicles. The odd thing about fuel regulations, who regulates how much our government wastes fuel through military spending & resells us back already purchased gas for a profit! That’s a whole other story, but something people should question instead of excepting less while paying more.💩
This generation Civic looks as big the Accord. The Civic is supposed to be a compact sedan, while the Accord is supposed to be a mid-sized sedan. The Civic looks bigger then the Toyota Corolla
I wouldn't mind owning this version of the Civic. I owned a 2013 Civic for a couple yrs. It was very small. When I got rid of it I went back to mid size suv. I have been much happier. So much more room for daily use.
Dear Honda. Could you kindly bring back Jazz or some other economy class car? Civic is nice but expensive and insurance in my area cost more than car payments. Jazz was far better to insure and maintain.
Honda never sold a car called a Jazz in the US. The Civic is their smallest car since they discontinued the Fit. Consumers didn't buy the Fit in large enough numbers to justify keeping it. Honda isn't going to build something that enough buyers aren't interested in buying.
Why wouldn't it be a daily driver? It's literally designed to be a daily driver haha
no man you need a 3 row suv for a daily driver
No bro you need a 4x4 pickup truck with duallies to go to the grocery store

I think the contingent word is "good"
I love this *format* ; a day to day look at a car's practicality.
Same
Zack. I love this format for new cars particularly the mpg at various highway speeds.

I wish Honda offered more color options.
I would like yellow
don’t worry, they went easy this year to release a new color for 2026 model year, which is 40th anniversary

Great review, touched upon practical aspects of ownership
Great job on the video.🔥LOVE THIS STYLE OF VIDEO 🔥... Looking forward to more lighthouse videos on your other channel too ...

Higher production value on this review, great job zach!
This is like the dreamscape version of a “Shooting Cars” review. Very tranquil
Fantastic car but I am so sick of seeing Urban Grey on every single one…
I still prefer Mazda 3 hatch manual as I own one and I don’t want turbo engine. It’s still good to drive without screaming (31mpg).
Good morning Zack I hope you have a good day

Can you give me 2-3 inches of your height? You’ll have a much easier time fitting into more cars, and you’ll still be taller than over 99% of people
Pulled the good ol’ motor week intro 🤣
I wish the best for you and your career

Cool video 😎💯
their some ringing music / audio playing in the background of this video ?
what are your thoughts on this vs. the mazda3 manual hatch?
Please do the late model toyota avalon limited i needs this.
Still don't like that Honda hasn't figured out a way to integrate the head unit into the dash.
Just break the screen backwards and tape it down. You’ll be happier with it that way.
Very Funny -- NOT!!
Background music in the begging was not a good choice lol
NO!!!, 1.5T NO BUENO!!!

Did Zach purposely wear an all black wardrobe for this video?
it’s a civic it’s disposed to be a good daily driver
Honda no longer makes a coupe CIvic as coupes have become less popular
I hope honda has a new small honda on the horizon cause the Fit is gone, the Civic is too fat, and i aint bouta get in an HRV.
i thought all the new si's were leather. I would've liked cloth on mine
None of the Si’s are leather.
@a32tl mine is, it isn't that cloth material from the video
@@jerrygd4 Is it a current generation Si? American market?
@@a32tl yea i got it in september 2025, i was expecting cloth but the one i got didnt have that

slower than the civic hybrid lol.
Slower than the type r lol.

Have both. Si is faster from 60+. But 0-60 is quicker in the hybrid, yeah
Don’t daily Civic anymore, these Honda Turbo engines will bankrupt the middle class. Honda is a disastrous brand nowadays.
? There hasn’t been widely reported issues with the Turbo that would bankrupt the middle class. Just drive it conservatively, and you’ll be fine.
