I just signed up today to be a dasher. You were right with the background check being instantaneous 😂 I was shocked. But I'm excited but nervous at the same tonight haha
After you sign up do you get an email or what do you do after sign up
@@JJDaBossOutdoors Once you sign up with your driver's license number, name, email, etc. They'll run your background check which you should get back the same day, and they'll direct you to a W-2 form to fill out through the app. They'll send you an email saying that your starter kit is on it's way and you should get that within 1-4 business days. In the kit will be the hot bag, your red card, and a slip with instructions on how to set up the Dasher app. Hope this helps 😁

How tho if you don't have your red card I watched her other video and it looks like it doesn't show u what type of order it is so how can I only accept an order that doesn't need the card I don't want to start without my card and accidentally accept one you need to pay for
What kind of sense does that make? They want you to do something before you understand how to do it? This is why it seems shady to me.

Thinking of getting started, retired, but could use a few extra bucks,my question is,.... are the majority of pick ups from restaurants prepaid by the customer?... if not how, and when does it get paid, does that mean your will be carrying , and responsible for cash.? Btw, best video I've found on this door dash subject, great work.
Oh wow Steve that is high praise, thank you very much! They are mostly prepaid when the customer orders on the app. If they aren't you will use your "red card" to pay which is a prepaid card that only works for whatever delivery you are making. You will never have to handle any cash or make change or do any of that ☺️
Thank you for your response, but I'm missing something here.....if the order is not prepaid,...and you pay for it with your red card,....when you deliver it, the customer still hasn't paid for that food....how do they pay for it?
Steve Edwards I’m very sure that the customer just pays through the app no matter what but sometimes it goes directly to restaurant other times to door dash and onto your red card

Is there some orders where you red card doesn't work and you have to pay out of pocket? If so does doordash reimburse you ?
Do you use the card to get your pay or do you have to have a bank account .
The red card is used to pay for orders at some restaurants. The app will tell you if its needed. To get paid you will need to enter your bank info to the app. Non traditional banks like Chime or green dot cards all have routing and account numbers too.

I was doing an order and at a wing stop then another order came thru I was so confused.
I have so much anxiety thinking about dashing for the first time. I received my bag and red card in the mail today. I suffer from anxiety, so feeling high anxiety in new situations is normal for me. I get all up inside my head and anxiety soars. lol I am all over youtube videos for dashing right now. 😊

I went out for about an hour and a half this evening and completed 2 orders that went super smooth. I felt pretty good about it. I would have done more but I hadnt eaten dinner and the goodness in the car was making me very hungry. lol

I have my bag and card I also suffer from anxiety and I have a brother and sister-in-law that do this on the weekends just for extra money I have had so many issues with doordash on the email and everything so I tried to I got my card activated and then when I hit get started or whatever it tells me I have an internet issue I've had to email support so many times on this issue it's ridiculous and I still haven't even got it fixed I don't know how people just keep going with doordash on their support it's ridiculous but I have everything for it and I haven't done it yet just curious if anyone has had any issues on this

Use stride tax. It tracks everything for you and you get an IRS ready tax summary.
You could also get the sync up drive from tmobile

I think these delivery services are great opportunities to make extra money and i agree they will only increase with popularity.
with any business opportunity there are various factors like how many customers use the service as well as how many delivery drivers there are at any one time snd geographic location.
However this kind of service probably has a high turn over so it will go up and down but for those with experience who stick to it i would think it could work out well.
When it comes to mileage and wear and tear on one's car....first off mileage will be your greatest tax deduction. Second years ago i used to think as a pizza delivery guy that i was just tearing my car up driving 50 miles per day but now as a guy with courier experience driving hundreds of miles per day (usually give or take 100k miles per year) i just kinda laugh and remember how i used to think that too. :)

How long did it takes to get the kit after you Apply to doordash??
I tried to sign up a few weeks ago but was placed on a waiting list instead because there were too many drivers in my area at the time. However, I just got started today and am waiting for my kit! I'm super nervous so I really appreciate your videos!

I would love to see a video that walks me and talks me through a full door dash after the fact... so record it in the moment, leave that hard to focus background music out, and talk me slowly through the process of an order coming in - what do you look at, what helps you to decide whether to take the order or not, what are the things you consider? Once you take the order, talk us through the details of how the app works from there. My first order took me forever to figure out how to do everything in a timely manner and I ended up getting tagged as not having delivered it on time, when in fact, I had delivered it at least 5-10 minutes early. Also, where do you put your purse? Some of the areas I deliver to are not the most trustworthy and full of character, integrity, and respect. I worry about my purse when I jump out to run a delivery up to a house.
Things I found hard to figure out on my first day dash today:
1. How do I look at the screen and know whether it is worth my time and drive?
2. How do I know what the full amount of miles will be?
3. Once finished, do I drive back toward a hotspot to pick up another delivery or stay where I'm at?
4. Is there a way to tell where I'm being sent ahead of time? (I live in Indiana and it sent me across the border to a rough neighborhood in Illinois today. I grew up in a neighborhood like that and I know what goes on. I was not prepared and should never have been over there.)
5. How do you go into the app and send the customer a text? Are you doing this through the app or through your own text message?
6. I actually live in a rough and unsafe area... How do I drive to a safer area where I can work? Do I have to find the hotspot or can I just go to the area and then pick up orders from there?
7. I know I'm missing some things. For a type A - Highly sensitive personality and a total introvert (functional introvert but nonetheless...), I was a little overwhelmed with it all. I wish I could have had time to play in a "test" version to really learn my way around the app and figure out how to navigate it but because they don't offer that, I need a video that at least takes the time to show these things - and preferably, a previously recorded dash that has been gone back through and voiced over to explain everything...

I just sign up to became a dasher, but since Dasher is an independent contractor, and they don't take out taxes. What do you men you have to pay taxes?
If you make more than $600 in a calendar year doordash will send you a 1099 form in January. OMG😬 🤪😵!!! I just started last week & I have set my alarm for 11:50pm so that I can be ready at 12midnight when the schedule is supposed to be available & for over a week now, NOTHING!!! Then to top it off my area & those around me are never busy, always grey!!! I have NEVER seen the "Dash Now" button...I would have to go to a town a hour+ away to get to a busy area!?!? Not cool.... I was so excited to start! I'm a mom of 6 kids & I could def use the $$$... But there isn't any work available!... Why let people sign up if there isn't anything available.... Also, I have herd that some restaurants require that you wear a Dasher shirt or they wont let you pick up?! But they tell you when you sign up that its not required?!

The material on the inside of the bag is called Mylar. It's funny that you said it looked like a space ship because it's actually the same material that space blankets are made out of. It's also used to make those shiny, silvery looking baloons and some companies use it to make wrappers for candy bars (the insulation helps prevent the chocolate from melting when exposed to something warm). It can also be used to camouflage yourself from thermal imaging devices, such as FLIR scopes or those used by predator drones.

door dash is cool i just recently signed up and they want me to do a dash before they send my activation kit out i'ts like almost 4 am and i could grab a shift from 430 to 530 am with a 17 dollar bonus i kinda messed around with the app and figured stuff out on my own but your vlog and Bently Koup's helped me out alot thank's kristina you rock

how do i get the kit? you’re telling us that you got it for free and that it was fast. but how?? lol, i signed up, did the background check and they did my identity identification after 2-3 days. they texted me that I can doordash now. but nothing about an activation card
I just signed up as a dasher and I think some things have changed that I haven't seen in the videos I have been watching. For example:
Activation kit: Once I signed up, my dasher app said that my activation kit would be sent automatically through the mail. IDK if this is because maybe I don't live near enough to a dasher office or because of COVID-19.
Start Date: Once I signed up, my app told me that I wouldn't have activation kit sent to me UNTIL I completed my first dash. So Literally 20 minutes after I signed up as a dasher, I was already making my first delivery. I was super nervous, but I guess since it was an already paid for order it wasn't such a big deal.

Help! My question as a new-be is: It seems DoorDash wants me to do a min 100 dashes a month. My sense is should I not meet this number I will be deactivated. The area I live in is not the area they give to Dash. The areas they have are at a distance 15-20 miles. One of these areas has a high crime rating. I recently purchased a New Juiced Bikes Hyper Scorpion Electric bike. Perfect for doing Door Dash. However I am not wanting to travel more then 10-15 mile radius. Read this again and please tell me my options. Be honest and straightforward- I can handle it!
Oh wow!!! Where is it saying you need to do 100? To be brutally honest...doordash deactivated my account for no reason and I still haven’t figured out why 😐 hence why I switched to Instacart! I just posted a new video on instacart

Can someone please help me I got told I can start right away but have no red card yet how do I only accept orders that don't need the red card I watched her other video and it looks like it doesn't tell you what type of order it is till after you accept the order
