In real life I think Henry Hill took part in the beating. That's the one thing about Goodfellas that I have an issue with Henry always being the reasonable guy who just happens to be around all the violence but never partakes in it himself.
That's a major theme in the movie. The earliest shot we see of him chronologically is him watching the mob through his bedroom window. He's an observer, an outsider. Even when he starts working for them and is much more integrated into their lifestyle he is still never like they are. Much less comfortable with violence, many more moral qualms about what they're doing, a lot of Catholic guilt. He's still an outsider. And then when he has to leave the mob he's come full circle and is stuck back looking out his window again. That's why he can narrate the movie, he has an outsider's POV.

Gotti loved Billy Batts he took the full wrap when he got busted in Bridgeport. Associates of the Gambino family knew that Billy had gone to Henry Hills place around the time of his disappearance. They could never prove it but Gotti was certain Tommy killed him. A few years later a guy named Ronald Jerothe who was tight with Gotti was murdered as well. Tommy was dating Jerothe sister and i believe he would beat her so Jerothe confronted him and Tommy murdered him. So that was 2 made guys that were killed without sanction also the feds could have played a part in spreading the rumors.

How did they even know Tommy killed Batts??
It was the last place Bats was seen was at Henry's bar, where Tommy and Jimmy always hung out.... also Paul Vario didn't like Tommy so he basically let it slip that it was Tommy who did it, to avoid a war with the Gambino's who were not taking the issue lightly.
Then you are a complete idiot and you spend time with morons.
ShoreDude105 don't we all
I fucking love that smug "Okay." From Jimmy lol
They must have worked so hard to rehearse and craft these scenes. What an outstanding movie. True American classic.
Batts really does look like Jay Leno with a mustache
Or The Shah of Iran
I got fuckin mouths to feed, grilled cheese right off the radiator just like the can
I guess he is still upset about his missing shine box.
Murray Franklin alongside Tommy Vercetti seen conversing with the Shah Of Iran in his younger day colorised while Harry Lime gets escorted outside.
It's hard to say that Billy Batts didn't get what was coming to him here, he thought because he was a made man he could run his mouth off to whoever he wanted, thing is he probably could have to anyone else in that bar EXCEPT Tommy.
Jesus is God 🦁 and without Him you will burn in hellfire
