Very cool padlock necklace! One of my favorite videos yet. The brooch/ buckle was an amazing find. I love what you did with the prism turning it into the lamp. I especially like the touch of using the weathered screws to keep the aged look. Great job upcycling your finds.
Si, you must be my upcycle twin! This prism lamp project combines all my favorites, upcycling finds from a pile of rusty throwaways, woodworking, and lighting! This reminds me of mid 20 century popcorn machine light that I made into a lamp. I absolutely love this video the very best!!
I also know why I haven't seen this for sale. It's hard to sell things you've put sweat into. I rarely sell my projects, they're all over my house and given as gifts to friends. The popcorn lamp was found in a pile of old dirty junk in a barn... I had luck in the dirt that day. Thank you for sharing this!
Hi Francine. Thanks for your enthusiasm! Yes we are kindred spirits. Take something seemingly worthless and create something beautiful! It’s what I live for. Si
When you make larger up-cycled items like your lamp and table you should put a small ‘plaque’ on the back of each one saying what they are made of for future generations to know the history behind the object.
You just never know what you’re gonna find that day. I mean that pewter brooch was unbelievable, surrounded by all that guck. And I can’t believe that sitting in the muck is those old old coins. It just blows me away the way you find them. Cool!! Felt bad for your friend that he wasn’t able to find too much but maybe next time. LOVE your new lamp!! Great Video!!🌊
Si can literally make anything look good! I love to see what he does with his finds. Great channel. I get so excited when I. Get to watch one I haven’t seen before!
I love that you have a collection of old rusty screws. I once was working on an antique item that needed screws. New screws were definitely not right and the old rusty screws were so hard to find.
I can't imagine finding a video that you've made, that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. Wonderful padlock necklace you have there. I have a similar, padlock closing, bracelet in rose gold, that I found on one of my estate sale ventures. It's from your side of the pond and was assayed through Birmingham in the 1970's. I wear it daily and love it truly. Thank you for the exceptional content and for showing us how you made that brilliant lamp. Much love.
Si the color you painted the light box was perfect . It goes well with the rusty look of the prism frame. I would love to see your new lamp after dark. It would be great to see the reflection on a wall 😊 I was thinking those keychains would be lovely with your channel name burned into them . l like your imaginative use of the left over wood . Good to see you back on the hunt . Stay safe ok .💙

Hey Simon. I've been following you for a few weeks as we've for into mudlarking in our village stream. I'd really enjoy it if you could show us how you store and organise your finds at home. I'd love to see an over view of what you have found over the years. Beat wishes Emily ed and Rupert from Devon
Upcycling was👍♥️♥️♥️...Loved the old wood key chains too..So many different shapes that can be made into.. Wood.Texture is 👍...The surprise metal find underneath all that rust goes to prove never judge a thing by its cover...Great finds ..🖐️
Nice padlock necklace...Silver and gold, very nice indeed! The new lamp is kool, a good start on a Steampunk piece. You find the koolest materials for your art...And it's free! Woo Hoo! Maybe Si is an SU Orangemen fan...Basketball, football and Lacross!! Woo Hoo!
You’re so creative Si! The light turned out beautifully. This was Another great video 👍 I always enjoy the up cycling portions the most, as I love seeing you give new life to old things! I do a lot of metal detecting here in the states, so it was nice to see a bit of that used along the Thames as well. So glad you took the time and care to release that beautiful pendant from it’s crusty prison 😁 I’m already looking forward to your next video! Take care
I really love that you leave just enough patina on the finds that you upcycle. It keeps them looking interesting and aged. I think the rust color paint you used actually complemented the rustiness of the frame on the light.
@Si-Finds Thames Mudlark Hi Si! Did you make a few passes of the detector where the pipe broke!? I was dying for you to give it a go! Gorgeous work on the Prism Box, btw...
I so enjoy your search for treasures you always find such wonderful pieces and tell us history about them my favourite part was the light box you made with one of your amazing finds it looked gorgeous thanks again for taking me on another exciting treasure hunt
Three things my friend: 1. Sweeeet thimble. 2. Niiiiice brooch. 3. Grrrreat job on the light/box! Keep up the wonderful work. I do so enjoy seeing what you make out of your finds! Watching you discover such beautiful and intriguing pieces of history is very exciting as well. I live with several physical challenges so I don’t get out much. I live vicariously through following your videos as well as a few other UA-camrs. Thank you for brightening up my days.
I’m so glad to see you back on the shores iv missed these videos from you I apsolutely love listening to you get excited over your finds and explaining what they are when there from and how it was used or for ! Hope you had a wonderful time in Asia which I can’t imagine you wouldn’t so good to see you back out after lock 🔒 down . So stay safe and happy 😊✌️❤️🏺⚔️🕯⭐️🔆🍻🪔🗝
Si-finds Thames Mudlark yes I’m subbed to you of course I don’t always get the notices it’s turned on but that’s you tube for ya lol😂 but I’m all caught up now!!
Hi Si. Love this lark. Loads of interesting historical finds. A whole thimble and broach! How lucky is that. Painting away and you said don't like orange as you wear and use orange on your merch😂🤣😂. Wendy did a fantastic job on your padlock. Great necklace for a guy to wear although I would wear as well. New detector yes please. I wonder if you took a rod down to foreshore if you could scrape out some of the wooden sewer pipe to see if you find anything? As always, til next time, blessings.
Really enjoyed everyone's finds . The Prism light fixture blew me away , clever idea indeed . You did a wonderful job of up-cycling it too . Thanks again for another great video .
Really beautiful upcycle of the light. Creative way to actually give it light. I think that is the fun part of upcycling and repurposing items is the puzzle like problem solving. Did the drill get your thumb awhile back? I have had that happen to me. No pretty hands if you like to get down and dirty with tools. Thanks Si this was a really interesting video. I can't imagine a wooden drain! We had a lovely clay one right in the kitchen under a trap door in the floor. 3 sewer lines all ran into the clay one. We were grossed out to see that all 4 pipes were unconnected and sewage literally swirled in that under floor "well". This was in an old house from mid to late 19th century in a small Belgium village. At the edge of town was a 12th manor house still lived in. Even had secret tunnels. I miss being there.
Love the video. Great finds.. That light you designed was beautiful.. The orange went perfectly with the green and rust around the edge. Very inventive.
Hi Si, I have only been watching you for 6 months or less. You totally amaze me each time I watch your videos. Check the wood from the key chains, it may be Ebony. At least you could look it up. I love all the things you make with your treasures. Barbara H Savannah, Georgia USA
Great hunt Si! Love the light, and all your finds. Thank you so much for all the hard work of editing, and research that you do for us. There's only a selected few shows that I watch on the tube, and your definitely in my top 5 of probably 10 shows. Thanks again. Kelly McClain/Indiana
That thimble was an awesome find, and that lead piece was unusual. I wonder what it was used for. I thought maybe the tiny sword could have been a watch key but then noticed the flat side. You do great work up cycling your finds and the work on the lamp was wonderfully done. 😃
Si, you are the most inventive and artistic young man I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us.
Awwwww, how lovely of her to make this fir you Si?!!! 👍👍👍👍
I don't know that anyone can expect to find anything of significance if Si is on the lark. He always finds the best stuff! 👍🏻😉🇺🇸
