Padma should have his own UA-cam channel. So very well explained and the information seems to stay better in my brain because of the soothing and relaxing way he has to explain things.
This mans presence in this video is very calming his understanding about bonsai is impeccable hes a real asset to Peter . Blessings peace & love, Michael
So good to see Padmapriya going solo. His unassuming demanour and love for his subject is so refreshing compared to some of the obnoxious loudmouths on other channels! Keep ‘em coming!
Thank you very much! 🙏 A wonderful video. Especially the calm way of Pad is so relaxing. Plus a lot of useful information. Bonsai is not a sprint, but a marathon. Great job, Pad! 👍👍👍 More of this please!
Excellent video. Very informative for beginners and more advanced practioners. You have a very calming manner Padmapriya which makes the viewer captivated. Thank you for your information sharing.
A good guide for the bonsai newcomer. One omission is the watering in process after repotting. It's important to mention that watering should be carried out until it runs clear. This ensures that any soil fines are washed out to prevent clogging of the drainage holes in future.
Great video and will be a good reference for me in a few years time when finnaly getting my bonsai out of training pots Great to see even these days that jeyes fluid is still used in a commercial setting, its something that my grandparents used for cleaning and over winter I use to clean all my pots, trays and tools
Thank you for the instruction. I repotted several last weekend and I was surprised at how closely I followed your instructions before I saw this video. Great job, Pad!
I’m only 20 years old but I absolutely love bonsai I currently have one it’s a Japanese black alpine but I’m really wanting to get various other trees and learn more about them
thank you very much for this impressive video. i saw mostly all videos on this channel, but this was so detailed in execution, that i feel save now to do it on my own. keep up this great work !!!
This guy is so peaceful feeling, he has a beautiful way of relaying information. Only a few of his videos I’ve seen but seem to be able to retain what he says. He explains in a way that comes across so well. Would love to see more content from you. Idk how to say or spell your name but would like to know where you got that name from?
@20:15 you talk about looking it up on how much roots to take off the tree. Where is this information found? Is there something that we can look up about how much foliage we can take off or is this a strict amount on all trees.
Gotta say love the fresh blood making some vids, a few signs of improvement on the video standpoint the pauses oils use some improvement but man, the setup and planning in the video, seems like a knowledgeable man, gotta get in front of the camera a bit more and you’ll be well on your way to more comfortable videos, good job!
Hi all, I have a 1 gallon Japanese maple I got from a nursery. I’m going to root prune and repot it once the buds begin to swell, and there are a few problem branches I’d like to get rid of before they cause inverse taper. Is it okay to remove ~half the root mass as well as a couple of branches at the same time, or should I wait to structure prune and only do the root pruning?
muy buen trabajo ,y la explicacion al detalle de cada paso a seguir para concluir con el tranplante ,gracias me sirvio mucho ---ya que en la proxima temporada tranplanto mi arce.
Better drainage, easier to control watering and feeding your tree. And the grains may promote a network of fine feeder roots, which is necessary for the health of the tree and for developing a good root base/nebari.
What is it about the climatic conditions in the UK that make a mix containing organic matter (bark) more suitable than a traditional Japanese mix? Thanks.
It's for water and mineral retention, the clay ball soil breaks down in the cold and wet and it's also expensive to import. It isn't that you can't use it, but there isn't a real reason or need. Japanese soil is common and available in japan, we have our own mixes to grow our plants. Also, anyone can really make this mix, so it has more general appeal.
I still don’t really completely ‘get it’, but I prefer to have some organic matter in my mix, rather than pure Akadama/Pumice etc. it’s probably the traditional gardener in me! (UK).
Well that is wrong we don’t need compost because we are in the uk 😔 you’ll find compost or pine bark in “bonsai “soils isn’t good because we use small and shallow pots for our trees compared to your traditional garden plant pots, it prevents drainage and clogs up the air flow we need in our soil for our bonsai trees
Padma should have his own UA-cam channel. So very well explained and the information seems to stay better in my brain because of the soothing and relaxing way he has to explain things.

100% agree

Bonsai is not a sprint, but a marathon.
Great job, Pad! 👍👍👍
More of this please!
You can tell you use these more in-depth procedures as a mediation; your mindfulness towards the tree and the task is infectious.
Thank you Pad for explaining the repotting process in detail. Very much appreciated and valued. Hope to see more of your videos soon.
Thanks! Explained very precisely! I'm voting for more workshops with this gentleman 👌👌👌
Excellent information, covered everything.
Very nice summary, thank you. I would also advise having a spray bottle handy, specially on bigger trees when the work can take hours.
Excellent video. Very informative for beginners and more advanced practioners. You have a very calming manner Padmapriya which makes the viewer captivated. Thank you for your information sharing.
A well presented video , and a joy to watch.

What was the block that you used to clean the pot?
Thanks

I would defintely wait on removing big branches until first spring growth starts to harden off, so depending on your climate end of May - June
Great job doing the repotting! Where is Peter is he okay?
Semoga bermanfaat untuk orang lain 👍❤️
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 thanks Padma, Well done

What is wrong with using soil instead of various gravel and rock mediums?
Better drainage, easier to control watering and feeding your tree. And the grains may promote a network of fine feeder roots, which is necessary for the health of the tree and for developing a good root base/nebari.
