I ran into the other room to watch the report. Think of all the things we think of that Selena wouldn't even know happened. Before she died, she would have never heard of 9/11, Columbine, Sandy Hook, Obama, Trump, Latinx - none of it. And think of all the people under 29 years old who never heard of her or her music. A lot has happened in this country after she was killed, and none of it has been good.

The sad and tragic irony about Selena is she was completing her English crossover album at the time of her death. One of her producers said, according to the film, she could be the next Gloria Estefan, RIP
They speculate that due to the velocity of her popularity and the quality of her voice and music, she could easily have been in the 10 top music artists of all time.
I love this song this was such a tragic and useless death. She was beautiful, had a wonderful voice and had her whole life ahead of her. I didn't understand some of her music because of the language but it didn't matter. Music transcends language, barriers. Had she lived she would have been 55. May she rest in peace 🙏🏾🙏🏾

I saw the film that starred J.Lo I didn't see the series that was on Netflix, but some of my coworkers said that the Netflix series Dove more deeper into her life and that she didn't really get along with her siblings. I don't know how true that is. I never saw it so I can't really comment on the Netflix series but the film was good

I was home for spring break from college and I remember hearing the news and seeing all the cars around town the day after she was killed had writing on their windows with messages saying things like "We love you Selena!" and "We'll miss you." the day my dad was taking me to the airport to go back to school.

This is why you never see her in the video. The song isn't released at the end of the summer, after all the media had died down, and losing all momentum for the single. It finished on Billboard at #22. This song should've easily been a Top 10 hit. RIP This is a Radio Edit. The LP Version, which is way better

Im 34. This song made me cry my eyes out since i was a child. And even moreso after i heard what happened to her. The day before yesterday, at work as an instructional aide in a school with special needs children, the music teacher was showing the kids music for cinco de mayo. The other aides and i were singing and happily joining in with the artists he was showing. The last artist he introduced them to was Selena. (He only spoke of her music) The moment her face came up on the slideshow the aides were silent and tears were streaming down my face for the rest of music class. And now they are again. I had no idea that would be my reaction to just seeing her.

It's says alot about her legacy an the impact she left on people that she is still remembered an loved so much after being killed at such a young age. An I know alot of people that love her an her music that don't even speak Spanish. I believe had this horrible thing not happened to her by now she would b as big as any musician. She'd b a legend in both English an non English speaking genres. Probably would b in movies like alot of others. She was so incredibly beautiful. An so loved her fans. Truly sad that she cheated out of living a long life.
