I'm so glad he corrected them about the Madonna comparison. Selena was more than Madonna. Besides, Gloria Trevi was more Madonna than any other Latina artist.
Selena never had any hate in her heart. Just light. She didn’t even hate Yolanda. She was furious with her for what she did but she never hated her. Or anyone. I guess she was more hurt than mad. Yolanda was her friend, she was like family, Selena trusted her so much. Yolanda was just evil.

I'm watching this in memorial of Selena! The Texas Queen! She presents our home and our legacy, and I can't help but feel close to her heart when I hear her!! May you Rest In Peace and may your family and Chris be at ease on this day.
I am a teacher and I play Selena’s songs to my kids and they love it, they sing along and dance to her songs! Selena still an inspiration and they’re impressed for what she did in just a little time.
Carolina Antonio Being humble is not a talent. They all have different musical styles and are famous for very different things. Selena for being a crossover star. JLo for being a businesswoman and amazing entertainer. Beyoncé is known for being Beyoncé, she does it all but large. Different markets too. I mean come on.
Selena reminds me of Aaliyah... both iconic and both could have done so much with the rest of their lives but both ended so shortly and so tragically. Rest In Peace
One thing that I like about Selena is that she sang from the heart and I think that’s why people can feel so emotional during her performances I think that’s what many singers lack today..
People have no idea how wonderful a person she was. I didn't know her personally, but lived down the street from her. She always had a smile and a wave for her fans. She was truly a beautiful person.
Shes Like A Magnet !! Attracts All Races , Culture , & People. She Always Has That Charm.. RESPECT , LOYALTY , & LOVE TO HER FAMILY. WE LOVE YOU ANGEL! Muahhhhh 😍😘
Edwin Berrios So true! Besides the fact that she was radiantly beautiful, fashion-forward, funny, cool, generous, inspiring, talented, etc. (I could go on...); There was something in her voice that communicated directly to people's hearts. Way back when I first started listening to her songs in Spanish, I didn't know exactly what the lyrics translated to in English at the time, but I could always tell what she was singing about, because she was so gifted at conveying pure emotion through her voice. That is a rare thing in music, today.
We watched the movie in my Spanish class in 8th grade. We drew pictures for her and learned some of her songs in Spanish. She still has a very special place in my heart ❤️
Selena Quintanilla music was and will always be universal. She reached everyone with her music. And even in its' native tongue I could still enjoy her music. She could cover Chaka Khan who she loved and duet with David Byrne who was a new wave artist. If she was still with us, she would have been unstoppable today! What a kind heart she was. She was truly beautiful inside and out. I loved her music and loved her as an artist. She Will forever be missed and I will always enjoy her music and the film about her her life starring J-Lo.
Crab AppleKitty Yes she does if it wasn’t because Selena died JLo would not had been JLo because first of all she got famous because she did like something when Selena died for Selena and that made her famous
Nobody can ever compare Selena to other artists. She’s one of a kind. She lighted everyone’s heart. Her voice was so beautiful and nice. She was so gorgeous. It’s sad she died at a young age. She never hated people she was just furious with people. She was such a great person. That’s my queen and she will forever always be in my heart.
Says you Tonysmith Selena is the queen of Texas and you have Madonna well she doesn't hold a candle to Selena sorry Madonna will never be Queen in you're dreams keep wishing it it's net gonna happen Selena will always be the Queen of Texas look at whitney Houston she thought she take the tiara away from Selena nope nope nope that's never gonna happen you can't take her tiara get lost Tonysmith
This is bitter sweet because I can still remember the day she passed. My brother in law came in the house asking us, "did you guys hear about Selena passing?! How sad, god it's unbelievable" Little did we knew that four months after he would be murdered and we will be mourning he's lost. 1995 was by far the year that I will never forget. Till this day I still tear up about Selena whenever I see her videos or hear her music because that same year I lost my beloved brother in law. May they both rest in paradise 🙏🏼
I was in 5th grade... It was so devastating. I cried like if she were a family member..I still cry when I think of that day. In Hispanic families I think Selena is part of the family. Her music never fails, ever.
I was 3, born and raised in Corpus Christi. My family had gotten together for some party at my 1st cousin once removed house. I remember the music being turned down, the TV being turned up, everyone crying, and when I realized what was being said on the TV I cried too.
She represented the modern Latino . Couldn't speak fluent spanish , but had an amazing voice . She was a Mexican Whitney Houston . Honestly I think she would have collab with Aaliyah . So much talent and charisma . Taken too soon .
@@dlibyhgiselle13 I used the comparison as more of a correction , to the comparison she had to Madonna . Not to erase or overlook her . A comparison that was held in high regard to her own father . But I guess you're soo woke and wise beyond your years that you had to say something . You had to correct this great injustice . Oh wow you opened my eyes . Now I can listen to her music and truly appreciate her .
I was 12 when Selena was murdered. My dad is Black and Mexican. Selena's music made me proud to be Latina for the first time in my life. Ill never forget her and she will always hold a special place in my heart. We love and adore you, Reyna.👑👸🏽
I'm crying. I remember 6th grade, watching the movie on her and just falling in luv with her. The fact that she is no longer with us is devastating. Imagine what it would be like if she was still here today, still making music. My God, I miss her so bad.

Mexican Beyoncé ??? Hell no Beyoncé wasn’t no where in the level of Selena at that time
Bryan Hell Beyoncé was a fan girl of Selena at the time and even said hi to her at a mall
@@jesuusch dang
True
Exactly. Beyoncé was not nearly as famous and even she was star struck when she met her
@@starsforsophi huh? What about them
It’s crazy that it’s 25 years without her god what her kids would’ve looked like or how talented they would’ve been 🤍
I miss her, she was such a kind person and trusted everyone that lead to her death:(
Faxs 😔
As a Filipino American growing up in a Filipino household, I remember my mom would sing me the “Dreaming of you song” to me when she tucks me in bed. After watching this, I had no idea Selena sang this 🥺 her music made an impact in Filipino culture as well!

Queen of Tejano or TexMex Music..
Dreaming of you is one of my favorite Selena classic hits....
I'm watching this in memorial of Selena! The Texas Queen! She presents our home and our legacy, and I can't help but feel close to her heart when I hear her!! May you Rest In Peace and may your family and Chris be at ease on this day.
rest in peace Selena
Beyoncé’s the Texas queen
There is no way we can compare her to someone. Selena was Selena and still is.
I am a teacher and I play Selena’s songs to my kids and they love it, they sing along and dance to her songs! Selena still an inspiration and they’re impressed for what she did in just a little time.
When the guy said “I’m fighting back tears a little bit” I felt that 😔😢
Everyone: owwww Selena
Brandon: The QUEEN of Mexican American music!!!
Yas gurllll
I love him so much! He’s always nice

Who's Selena Gomez
@@babygurl2044 I don't know
True Selena Gomez got her name from Selena lol
Selena Gomez actually looked up to her 😔😌
@Squiddy FancySon they’re two different things lol
We definitely wouldn’t have JLo if Selena was still alive... facts.
In a world full of JLo’s, be a Selena.
Thats what I told my sister yesterday 🤕
Facts
Why compare them?
So right! Jlo became famous because of Selena.
_in a world full of Beyoncé, be like aaliyah_
i didn't start crying til i saw chris... legit balling rn
Selena is better then jlo or Beyonce
Ashley Owen Selena was different. She wasn't better than any, she was in a lane of her own.
Chris nah she was better and humble
Carolina Antonio Being humble is not a talent. They all have different musical styles and are famous for very different things. Selena for being a crossover star. JLo for being a businesswoman and amazing entertainer. Beyoncé is known for being Beyoncé, she does it all but large. Different markets too. I mean come on.
Chris Nope! She was BETTER and had REAL singing talent
Obviously
ANYTHING FOR SALINASSS!!!
The movie was amazing
@@bubbleguppy6715 but sad at the same time tho 😭😭
Selena is one of the greatest vocalists and performers of all time, absolutely iconic and utterly breathtaking. It's so emotional to watch this video
Such a beautiful woman, her legacy will live on. As a Mexican-American she truly touched me. Rest In Peace mi Reina.
she would’ve been around 48 today 😔 she was such a inspiration and she was taken away too soon. r.i.p selena ❤️
She was born in 1971. She would be 50 this year. (2021)
Selena reminds me of Aaliyah... both iconic and both could have done so much with the rest of their lives but both ended so shortly and so tragically. Rest In Peace
Omg I always thought that too! They gave me the same feeling beautiful, sweet and talented. Icons Queens 👸
I HATE how they compare her to Madonna, she's not even a good singer! Selena is RAW TALENT.
Me too! Agreed!!
i think there saying like madonna was so successful and that was like her so successful i don’t know she is still better then madonna
FACTS .
Madonna can sing...just not live lol
@@Jinaria101 n that right there proves their point-
Didn’t understand any of the words to her spanish songs as a kid, but I felt it. Legendary! Beautiful woman and beautiful voice to match!
"The Queen of Mexican American music Booooy! SELENAS! OH YES!"
Totally thought of the movie, Selenas with an S.
Adults react to Juan Gabriel, el divo de Juarez
Another great Latin artist
Selena was my first crush and love, grew up listing to her music. She maybe gone but her voice and legacy lives on. My Queen
"she could be the mexican american beyonce" no no no no no. When it comes to Beyonce. Selena is the queen.
Isaac Munoz bey even met her as a teen and was starstruck herself
heyyyy
When you hear her song como la flor but the live version and when she says “como me duele” that shit hits differently
That makes me cry every single time
We watched the movie in my Spanish class in 8th grade. We drew pictures for her and learned some of her songs in Spanish. She still has a very special place in my heart ❤️
Does anybody else cry everytime they hear Dreaming Of You??? No?? Just me....okay!!!!
Yes I do
Me too. Her most haunting and beautiful song.
definitely
I especially start sobbing like a baby when I hear the line "and for all of my life"
For me, the most moving line is "and I still can't believe that you came up to me". Her voice is so powerful and sweet.
I love the song but I tend to skip it because I KNOW I will sob. I hate that she’s gone.
Amazing how her music can make a man sing in tiny voice. Funny and cute. Selena's music is so special.
I think JLo owes her career to Selena....
CuteMakeupLover yes!
She ABSOLUTELY does!
And she better not EVER forget that!
She doesn't owe anyone anything, you people need to stop!!!!
Crab AppleKitty Yes she does if it wasn’t because Selena died JLo would not had been JLo because first of all she got famous because she did like something when Selena died for Selena and that made her famous
But JLo did tributes to many other singers too! Like Celia Cruz ;)
YAAAAAASSSSSS LATINOS UNITE

I wish she was still alive. I would go to EVERY concert!!! even tho I am not Mexican. I love her music.
Nequita Farmer Not only Mexicanos go to her shows. All sorts of Latinos/other ethnic people go too.
angel ivan Yea I know. I've been watching the movie since I was little and I fell in love.
You don't have to be Mexican to love no hate though
Madonna can’t compare to Selena’s talent. Selena is in a class of her own forever. Con mucho Amor Selena❣️🌹💋
They’re both good people shouldn’t compare artists since they’re all different
Her older music is amazing too. The songs most people have forgotten about. I would say she is a Texas legend, but she's world wide.
that FEELING U GET WHEN U HEAR HER MUSIC...... PURE. LOVE 💘
Selena isn’t dead she’s still in our hearts
I was in 5th grade... It was so devastating. I cried like if she were a family member..I still cry when I think of that day.
In Hispanic families I think Selena is part of the family. Her music never fails, ever.
I was 3, born and raised in Corpus Christi. My family had gotten together for some party at my 1st cousin once removed house. I remember the music being turned down, the TV being turned up, everyone crying, and when I realized what was being said on the TV I cried too.
Selena was and still is an inspiration. She loved her fans and thats why she did what she did. Beautiful, beautiful soul.
She represented the modern Latino . Couldn't speak fluent spanish , but had an amazing voice . She was a Mexican Whitney Houston . Honestly I think she would have collab with Aaliyah . So much talent and charisma . Taken too soon .
Don’t compare her to other artists 🙄
@@dlibyhgiselle13 I used the comparison as more of a correction , to the comparison she had to Madonna . Not to erase or overlook her . A comparison that was held in high regard to her own father . But I guess you're soo woke and wise beyond your years that you had to say something . You had to correct this great injustice . Oh wow you opened my eyes . Now I can listen to her music and truly appreciate her .
All three died tragically.
Couldnt speak fluent Spanish?
@@69Peopleshit from what I’ve read Spanish wasn’t her first language but she learned to speak it by singing it. Seems pretty fluent to me but 🤷♂️
I was 12 when Selena was murdered.
Selena was the an “it” girl before Beyonce! Beyonce said she saw Selena at the mall before Beyonce was anybody!
And Beyonce cried because she was a fan. That's beautiful. I miss Selena. We were robbed of so many moments.
@Aisha Mohamed well yeah but Selena was also, in a perspective of Spanish music
@Aisha Mohamed selena came before aaliyah. so selena was lmao
