Thank you for reacting to Selena. She is such an incredible talent and is never forgotten, especially with the Latin community. "Dreaming Of You" was the other English crossover song of hers to check out. I'd also suggest a couple of her Spanish ones, "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" and "Baila Esta Cumbia". She is still so missed but so loved that she'll always be remembered. 💖👑Descansa En Paz Nuestra Hermosa Reina Selena 👑💖
"Dreaming of You"... This is the Song I'll Remember her for... Selena put so much of her heart into every Song she sang. It's often said that many artists "Passed away before their time". I couldn't even imagine how much the World Lost with her Passing. RIP, Beautiful Lady. LOVED Your Reaction to "Ghost"! Everyone should see it!
Amor Prohibido is a favorite. This song and Dreamin' were on HEAVY rotation when she died. Sad ending to a rising star, but her passing gave Jennifer Lopez her opportunity and the rest is history Quick update: If you are looking to explore other artists in other languages, I recommend Lara Fabien. I Will Love Again was my introduction, but when I heard Je Suis Malade, I got chills. I don't speak a lick of French. She has a hefty roster of songs and her voice is amazing. Adagio, Immortelle, Broken Vow, Part of Me...
I feel incredibly lucky to have seen Selena in concert. She was amazing! It was bittersweet as the concert was the day before her 23rd birthday. Fans bought her a cake and we celebrated her last birthday on Earth. She will always be young, her voice will always be mellifluous she will never be forgotten. Selena The Queen of Tejano Music!! 💜💜💜💜💜
I am so glad you chose Selena for your Female Friday. Great song choice too. She is so underplayed. Don't let her Spanish songs deter you from listening. Most of them have English captions so you know what's being said. Another superb music artist who left this world way to soon.
This is a perfect song. Sung by an exceptional artist! So sad she is not with us! I remember the evening it was announced she passed, we were in the car and all the radio stations were playing this song.
I think of my mother when I hear Selena she was a big fan. Selena was a bright shining star that was taken away from us way too soon.😢 “Dreaming of you” is another good one
To think she died at 23 years old. What a tragedy. She would have been a big, BIG star! She was so beautiful and she her voice was flawless. Her story was made into a movie starring Jennifer Lopes. It showed her personality. It's a very poinient movie. Love her. Great choice Amber. P.s. Love those braids girl!! ❤️
It’s a given to say that Selena’s voice was beautiful and elegant. But the compositions behind her voice were next level, and they take you to places unexpected and rarely felt.
Yes!! Please do more Selena!! Since you’ve done two English songs so far you have got to check out her original Spanish songs. Which is the majority of her repertoire. Her live performances were legendary and never forgotten. She was such an incredible dancer with tons of charisma and just plain love for what she did. In her short life she accomplished so much and won over the public anywhere she went. Please keep on her journey you won’t regret it. Not to mention that to Mexican Americans she was and will always continue to be a beacon for what can be if you’re yourself and give love to what you do. Definitely in line with y’all’s message, much love and keep ‘em coming 💕.
I met her briefly before she was taken away from us. She was so nice and BEAUTIFUL in person. My brother took me to see her and I was in Awe. Sadly both her and my wonderful brother are gone but never forgotten. Love you Joe and Selena
I watched the Selena movie dozens of times (starring Jennifer Lopez who was phenomenal!) and I adored Selena the singer and person. RIP in peace always, sweet Selena.
Once you start diving into selena music and performances, it's hard to stop. She was such a superstar and still so humble. There's a lot of great music she gave us. There are fun dance songs like la carcacha, baila esta Cumbia that are very popular. Then fierce songs like que creias, Los desprecios, Las cadenas. I cant watch como la flor without crying. There are a lot of English songs that she has too, like missing my baby, dreaming of you, captive heart, a boy like that. But its fun to watch live performances, she was and is very captivating ♡ love the reaction. This song for me is so ethereal and her voice sounds perfect on it.
I absolutely LOVE it when people listen to Selena for the first time, this is what will always keep her legacy alive. No matter how many years go by, her impact on the world will not go away. So with that being said, thank you both for checking out her music. I would like to request Bidi Bidi Bom Bom and Dreaming of You, aside from this song, those are two of her most popular songs.
"No me queda mas", is another of her greatest songs." Tu sol tu" and "que creias". She sang a lot of dance music like "baile esta cumbia" she was awesome!!
I remember the ads for the movie about her, but I've never seen it. The video montage here is so very touching, and clearly a loving tribute to a beautiful, extraordinary young woman. I'll have to add this album to my wish list. Thanks for the reaction.
This isn't in my wheelhouse of music taste but I find this song incredibly emotional and well done. Her voice is amazing, the guitar parts that come in and out is done so tastfully and the bass brings a bit of the funk.
Thank you for reacting to Selena. I am one of your older fans from Texas. I started following Selena when she was 15 yrs. old and have always been a fan. I only got to see her live once in concert. It rained that sad day, March 31, 1995. The Dreaming of you Album was released posthumously. The family was waiting for her to go by the studio to record another song for it, but she never arrived. She only got to record four English songs plus one song she did with David Byrne of The talking Heads, called God's Child. She sings in Spanish while David Byrne sings in English. She improvised her part completely. It's a work of art, I highly recommend it. The rest of the album was finished with remixed Spanish songs. If you would like to here some Rock and Roll Selena, listen to the song "Ya No!". Her husband Chris Perez, guitarist and composer fell into deep depression after her death, a few years later he went back to music and into the studio and recorded his Grammy winning album Resurrection (The Chris Perez Project), where you can find the song he wrote after Selena's death called Best I Can, which I also highly reccomend.
Just keep in mind all she accomplished, in her short 23 years on this earth. She was violently taken away, on that fateful March 31st, 1995. Selena, will keep on living, in all that beautiful music she left for all of us. R.I.P. Tejana Queen. 💖
She had such a great voice you can hear she has it in the low range all the way up to falsetto her voice is so weighty. I get what you guys say airy too yet very grounded and full.
Living in Laredo, Texas, less then 2 hours away from Corpus Christi where Selena lived, I can say we saw her a few times in person performing at one of her dances/concerts or having breakfast the next day, at one of her favorite restaurants in Laredo. She was truly down to earth, funny and loved talking with her fans. On a cold and rainy day, my wife and I stayed on the Shoreline in Corpus where Selena's statue had just been put up. My wife and i could see it from our 6th floor window at the Hotel. I told my wife in Spanish, "poor Selena, she is out there in the cold and rain" and my wife started sobbing because we saw her in person at least 10 times. Now just a memory in the cold and rain. She was an excellent performer, who sang, danced but most importantly, connected tremendously with her fans, both on and off stage.
I literally can't think of any other female artist who LITERALLY had it all like Selena...voice, looks, body, dancing, storytelling ability, personality and on and on...
Before you guys move on to her other songs in Spanish, ya'll should def check out "Dreaming of you". As you were able to see, the music video for this song is just compilations of her, this is because she was killed soon after recording these songs for her crossover album. They did something similar with Dreaming of you, which was also part of what was going to be her debut in the American market. A treasure for her fans.
This is probably my favorite Selena song. In her movie it showed that she wanted to sing American pop music but her father wanted her to sing in Spanish but she didn't want to because she wasn't fluent in Spanish & had to learn the language so she could sing all the songs & know what she was singing. I think she was born & raised in Texas & her parents spoke fluent Spanish. Just to show all kids don't always speak the same language as their parents. My ex-husbands mother was German & he flunked German in high-school which was embarrassing to my ex mother n law. 💔 Selena's story is so insane & heartbreaking all because of greed! 🥺😱🤯
This is my FAVORITE song of hers It's so beautiful, and so is she! I love all of her songs but I really feel this one deep down! One of the best love songs ever recorded. It's just soooo pretty and super smooth! That was an angel here on earth! Believe that!
Along with this, Selena: The Movie would be a good one for the movie channel. J Lo in one of her first movie roles. This song always gives me chills. It’s just so beautiful. This album, Dreaming of You (which is another great song) was recorded weeks before she died and was released after her death.
This was from the dreaming of you album which she never got the chance to complete she had only recorded 4 songs for it before she was killed. The four songs were I could fall in love , captive heart , I’m still getting used to you , and dreaming of you . After her death her family added some remixes of previous songs and some unreleased songs, she also did the backing vocals
You think we can convince them to react to the Netflix Selena miniseries? I love it and I've watch it multiple times especially love that her Tejano music is subtitled.
Glad to see you guys revisiting Selena. I have found that some music in languages that I do not understand has become some of my favorite music because of what the performers still convey. A great example and suggestion: Lara Fabian doing Perdere L'amour
As soon as I hear Selena's voice my eyes well with tears always and I'm just so sad she was taken from us way to early. Could you imagine crossover Selena in the late 90's that would have been amazing to see.
Selena has music that makes you feel every emotion. From true love and happiness to heartbreak and everything in between. She even covered Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson and various other 80' artist. Selena was beautiful inside and out. She would talk to kids about staying in school and reward some of them by taking them to McDonald's. She was humble and loved her fans. She didn't see herself as a huge star. She will always be the Queen of Tejano music. You don't have to understand Spanish she had a way of making you feel what she is singing. Dive in to her music I promise you will love her music.
She had soooo much more to do in her life and after 10 years of work was finally on the brink of what she wanted all along, to be a mainstream pop artist. She grew to love Tejano but it was the family business she was kind of forced into and didn't even speak Spanish herself until she was a teenager. She could so authentically embody any genre of music she recorded and if you listen to a song like I Could Fall in Love against one of her Mariachi songs like Que Creias or any of her Tejano songs, you'd think they were completely different artists.
Perhaps the most beautiful yet tragic songs she recorded was, "No Me Queda Más." The video associated with it featured Selena in an elegant dress before a Mariachi in a very classic Mexican tradition. The song written by an associate of Quintanilla family who had fallen in love with Selena although she was already married. The song is about a person devoted to another although the person knows there can be no future and no happiness. She wept during the recoding sessions as she knew this beautiful yet heartbreaking song was written by a nice man whom she knew personally and realized he was heartbroken and suffering. Selena sang it beautifully and the orchestration was excellent and, she of course, was also beautiful. Another of her great songs which she recorded was classic, sad yet beautifully performed was the ballad "Siempre hace Frío" which means, "It is always cold..."
Selena's 🌹"No Me Queda Mas"is one of the most beautifu unrequited love songs ever but, if you're non-Spanish speaking like me you might want to find a subtitle version.
Growing up Mexican, every Sunday we would listen to selena and if the documentary was on tv, you bet we all gathered to watch it. She had the potential to break even more barriers but I’m glad her legacy still lives on.

Yes her voice was sooo powerful but not from a diva..but from a humble girl… look how we are talking about her 27 yrs after…her music…persona..legacy goes globally now…age don’t matter to her legacy…
Sad ending to a rising star, but her passing gave Jennifer Lopez her opportunity and the rest is history
Quick update: If you are looking to explore other artists in other languages, I recommend Lara Fabien. I Will Love Again was my introduction, but when I heard Je Suis Malade, I got chills. I don't speak a lick of French. She has a hefty roster of songs and her voice is amazing. Adagio, Immortelle, Broken Vow, Part of Me...
So much fun to sing with friends. We did that in high school when it came out. Lol Oh oh BABYYY!
Jennifer López can't stand next to Selena, like... ever💀
What was Selena like in person?
I am so glad you chose Selena for your Female Friday. Great song choice too. She is so underplayed. Don't let her Spanish songs deter you from listening. Most of them have English captions so you know what's being said. Another superb music artist who left this world way to soon.
This is a perfect song. Sung by an exceptional artist! So sad she is not with us! I remember the evening it was announced she passed, we were in the car and all the radio stations were playing this song.
Yes!!! Selena is everything! Amor Prohibido is one of my favorites
I think of my mother when I hear Selena she was a big fan. Selena was a bright shining star that was taken away from us way too soon.😢 “Dreaming of you” is another good one
She was so special...this came out right out after she passed...RIP.
She had such a beautiful voice, and she was a beautiful soul.
Selena has one of the most astonishing voice's EVER!
It’s a given to say that Selena’s voice was beautiful and elegant.
But the compositions behind her voice were next level, and they take you to places unexpected and rarely felt.
“Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” is so fun and joyful and definitely captures that feeling of butterflies you get when seeing the person you’re crazy about ❤️
Selena is universal. Great choice!!!
I love the movie also and have seen it several times from the time it came out. The soundtrack is really good too. Such a beautiful, talented woman.
“Anything for Selena’s!!”
This makes me cry just thinking about how she was taken so quickly and senseless. She was crossing over to mainstream and paved the way for so many. 😢
My favorite Selena song...thanx for playing..and reactions...
Beautiful light , extinguished way way too soon ❤
I absolutely LOVE it when people listen to Selena for the first time, this is what will always keep her legacy alive. No matter how many years go by, her impact on the world will not go away. So with that being said, thank you both for checking out her music. I would like to request Bidi Bidi Bom Bom and Dreaming of You, aside from this song, those are two of her most popular songs.
"No me queda mas", is another of her greatest songs." Tu sol tu" and "que creias". She sang a lot of dance music like "baile esta cumbia" she was
awesome!!
I remember the ads for the movie about her, but I've never seen it. The video montage here is so very touching, and clearly a loving tribute to a beautiful, extraordinary young woman. I'll have to add this album to my wish list. Thanks for the reaction.
Listening to this song and knowing she is gone , just makes her voice sound angelic❤
This isn't in my wheelhouse of music taste but I find this song incredibly emotional and well done. Her voice is amazing, the guitar parts that come in and out is done so tastfully and the bass brings a bit of the funk.
Beautiful grl, Beautiful talent, big loss to the world...R.I.P. Selena...Thanx so much, Blessings Headed over for movie night.
This song is so much more emotional when you know The Whole story and the movie
Every time I hear Selena I get tears in my eyes. Thank you for reacting to this Beautiful soul. Rest in Paradise Queen Selena🙏🏽 🇲🇽
Dreaming of you is a good song from her as well and a favorite of mine
What was Selena like in person?
If you haven't already, you guys should watch the Selena movie. It's really well done
Just keep in mind all she accomplished, in her short 23 years on this earth. She was violently taken away, on that fateful March 31st, 1995. Selena, will keep on living, in all that beautiful music she left for all of us. R.I.P. Tejana Queen. 💖
She was such a beautiful woman it is so very sad that she was murdered she didn't deserve that
She was a god given talent and even though I don't speak Spanish I still love her voice it was truly magnificent rest in peace Spanish Angel
We lost an incredible woman, entertainer and just a pure beautiful soul. so tragic
Selena's voice is outstanding!
This song brings tears to my eyes every time. Such a beautiful young soul who loved life so much. There is a special place in Heaven for this Angel.
She was a very great singer ❤
She had such a great voice you can hear she has it in the low range all the way up to falsetto her voice is so weighty. I get what you guys say airy too yet very grounded and full.
Don’t know if u have seen the movie! U need to!!! She was amazing and her life was cut way toooo soon!!!!
Como La Flor is a must by Selena
Such a beautiful voice. I remember this song. She was the first Tejana singer I remember crossing over to the pop charts. Gone too soon.
Such a beautiful voice and taken way to soon
I literally can't think of any other female artist who LITERALLY had it all like Selena...voice, looks, body, dancing, storytelling ability, personality and on and on...
Before you guys move on to her other songs in Spanish, ya'll should def check out "Dreaming of you". As you were able to see, the music video for this song is just compilations of her, this is because she was killed soon after recording these songs for her crossover album. They did something similar with Dreaming of you, which was also part of what was going to be her debut in the American market. A treasure for her fans.
A Female Friday must ! The band The Corrs consisting of three Irish sisters doing Pop Rock ! You will be blown away ! You will love the harmonies !
Her biopic is good also
You think we can convince them to react to the Netflix Selena miniseries? I love it and I've watch it multiple times especially love that her Tejano music is subtitled.
What a talented woman. Too young to die. Your music lives on Selena.
I love Selena ❤️ so sad she died so young RIP
Especially at the hands of a jealous fan/friend
@@special420player facts buddy
@@special420player psychopath would be the more accurate word.
This is the song that introduced me to Selena. Funny fact my younger sister is named Selena.
She was so lovely. The Tejano music scene and music in general lost a sparkling star with her loss. So much talent.
Selena's 🌹"No Me Queda Mas"is one of the most beautifu unrequited love songs ever but, if you're non-Spanish speaking like me you might want to find a subtitle version.
don't need to know the words. you know what she's saying thru the music/singing.
Growing up Mexican, every Sunday we would listen to selena and if the documentary was on tv, you bet we all gathered to watch it. She had the potential to break even more barriers but I’m glad her legacy still lives on.
