    Good and honest review as always, also I'm really glad you gave this to your dad.

    Good fair review Wes! Looks like a good bit of kit that, as you said would work well in conjunction with dust collection for the tool being used.

    Nice review, I remember the first one very well. This one and the other are comparable after your time spent. Thanks for being honest and informative.

    Blower wheels are balanced. Some do come with a clip on weight. But no more wobble than your getting it will work. You can see this same wobble in high priced heating and air units. If it's bad enough you feel it on the outside of any unit the rubber mounts for the motor can't stop it. Replace the blower wheel, motor bearing failure has began. For a high speed motor and to keep cost down the bearings are sleeve bearings.

    Love the review I have been going back and forth on if I should get one or not but I think I’m going to wait just because I have a 2 car garage as my shop but this review will be in my mind when I do need to get one.

    Wes, I just watched a Limey review of a filtration unit. The important thing I learned from him is using an eye bolt chucked into a drill to drive in j-hooks

    How did you feel about the noise compared to the jet?

    I enjoyed watching this review. I recently did a review of the WEN air filtration unit and it looks like we hit the same key points. I did not run a test like yours at the end, but I was thinking about your comments about how it is supposed to be used in conjunction with a dust collector.
    Have you given any thought to running another test with a dust collector attached to the sander and then do one run with the air filtration running and one without? To me that would be the true test and may actually give you some results to show on camera with the "larger" particulates removed.

      Mitten's Woodworks & Milling No plans to do that, but I do believe that would be a great test.

    The site showed "starting at $389".
    Did they send you the starter model?
    Are the specs on the website to a bigger unit?

      Michael Rutledge 67 The specs were for this unit. Not sure if they offer a larger one or not.

    Maybe it's just me but the difference in dust accumulated between the lower speed and the high speed setting was apparent. It seemed to me that much more dust was collected at the higher speed.

    • @falllineridge
      @falllineridge  4 роки тому

      Ron V Most definitely. Lots of very fine dust was scrubbed out of the air on the higher speed.

    Just for public knowledge...those bag filters are $60 each on Amazon. Don't know how many one would use in a year but the unit could possibly become very expensive to operate. Great review. Enjoy your channel very much.

    A piece of information on where this...and other things...are made. Obviously China is China. Also, though people there will disagree, Taiwan is China and so is Hong Kong as well, BUT...If something says "Made in China" you are flipping a coin on quality, sometimes good and sometimes just cheap Chinese junk. Not so on products made in Hong Kong and Taiwan. For the most part items made in those two places are good quality. Just an FYI.

    • @ron.v
      @ron.v 4 роки тому

      Mountain Crest Farm -- Great comment! Thanks for pointing out the difference. My cousin worked in Taiwan for a few years. I've noticed the apparent different in quality between products made on the Island of Taiwan and City of Hong Kong and what's made in mainland China. I completely agree with what you said. Some products made in mainland China are great and some are junk. Flip a coin.

    Dollar for dollar, the absolute best air filter I have ever used is 20X20X1 MERV 13 furnace filters, one duct taped onto the front and one on the back of a 20 inch box fan. I have 3 of these hanging throughout my shop, and a fourth that I keep mobile to draw dust or paint fumes away from me when I am sanding or finishing a project. Three of the fans set up the way I described probably does the work of two of these air filtration machines, and at a much lower price. The fourth is just icing and a candle on the cake. When the filters get dirty, toss them and install new filters. The filters are a lot cheaper on Amazon than they are in big box stores too.
